Just saying simply, "gorgeous" would be a gross understatement. OMG, what a rare find. I do indeed hope that whoever does purchase this fabulous specimen of automotive history will continue to preserve it and take it to classic car venues so others may enjoy seeing her. This is more than a car. She is a beautiful lady in white. I am so glad that I grew up in this era of motoring and had the pleasure of owning and driving these boulevard cruisers when they were new. So many wonderful memories. I was 18 years old when this Lincoln was new. Our family and extended family drove Lincolns, Mercury's, Cadillac's, and large Oldsmobiles. My two great uncles owned a local Dallas Lincoln-Mercury dealership, W.O. Bankston Lincoln-Mercury, way back then. I drove many of these wonderful cars.
I was 7 years old when this car was new. My grandparents had the same Continental Town Car the only difference was the whole interior was burgundy. This is such a beautiful car. It brings back a lot of great memories of my grandparents.
What a time capsule! I was in 8th grade in 1979 and I remember seeing wealthier people driving these around. Our family knew some well-to-do people so I got to ride in these sometimes. A real treat! As an adult I’ve owned 5 Town Cars. One like this, a 76 and she was a beauty…but a gas hog with a 460 4 barrel under the hood. Could never pass a gas station, but the ride was unsurpassed..quiet and cushiony. I envy the person who buys this beauty! Almost museum quality. Can’t wait for the interior video and the ride along!
@@christianbugatticg ..yes..well I'm 58 now..Olds were great cars. My dad always bought GM. My dad's parents always drove Cadillacs and my mother's parents always bought Buicks. I've always liked both makes.
1979 was a big year for Lincoln. They were the last “full sized” cars from the big 3. Both GM and Chrysler had downsized. Even Ford and Mercury were downsized. This is the end of the era. Museum grade example here.
Another mint example with a very low milage. It will be intersting to see how well this one does in the auction to compare it with the one for sale here in the UK with 8000 miles.
@@christianbugatticg I hope it does Bill, finding another one with such a low milage and no wear or cracked plastic trim will be very difficult. We will have to wait and see if it does go for a high price, that would make this UK one more of a bargain, they are open to offers for it. The advertised price will be retail out of the door, as a trader you will be able to negociate a much lower price.
I remember the mini-vent windows. They were so cool and for those who say they were a nightmare to work on, not true. The door panel only took about 5 minutes to remove and getting to the mini-vent was easy. Actually, the whole car was easy to service. MAB Team Trump USA 2024 The Genius of Trump

I have to believe this could get close to some kind of record.

That is true. We have had to fix a few of them over the years.
Lumptuous.......Luscious and sumptuous... but Im concerned about rear passenger leg room and comfort......😂... not..
Lol! I am sure there is no shortage of room in this one!
