Emiya may have survived, the thrown Gae Bolg, but not only did it require all of his mana and broke his shield completely, it left him completely defenseless while Cu was still fairly fine. Also, that shield he pulled out was meant to stop any projectile without even breaking a single shield.
kotomine being a sub par mage didn't nerf cu...cu is pretty mana efficient anyway...he was nerfed bu the cs which again begs the question why did he try to use gae blog if he was under cs

Cu is one of the few servants that being 1 of the 7 basic classes propably limits him more than powering him up. Ironically Gilgamesh and Emiya who he mutually hates fall in the same category. That E Luck will always be his partner in life.
Well to be fair, the classes limits them all, if they aren't weak enough already. If Hercules wasn't in any class, but fully summoned, he would have God Hand AND Nine Lives and many of the skills his Archer self would have. Artoria would have access to both Excalibur AND Rhongomyniad. You get the idea.
But Cu and Gilgamesh fit for all basic classes other than assassin ( even though gil is relatively mediocre in skill in many of them) and Emiya's fighting style and techniques even as an archer combine the fighting style amd techniques of all the basic classes other than a rider's. Hercules does also fit in the category fitting for all other basic classes other than a caster and has even become an Avenger-Archer hybrid class in F/SF (though avenger was a class forced in him by his master's manipulation) but Artoria only feats for saber, lancer and rider

Honestly, I'm just going with the anime here, which is pretty bad nowadays. I don't remember if the VN goes on about their fight, but in the anime it ends when Lancer gets chained by Enkidu. But the VN states the fight lasted 12 hours, and Gil is not that patient, so he somehow must have kept dodging from Enkidu time and time again (since with his high divinity, no way he could get free) while putting some degree of pressure on Gil (though he did come out of the fight without injuries).
Yondu's Needle needs active control thru the whistle, Lancer's Gae Bolg does not. Once he activates the NP, everything else is done by the spear itself.
It directly alters destiny itself, so once used, it will pierce your heart. The throw was more of a formality. So it cannot be considered a "homing" spear since destiny is being altered, not the spear following the target. The spear is continually fulfilling the conditions of "piercing the heart" so much it controls causality and fate itself. So let's say Saber was behind walls, the spear will either redirect itself to an open space, or like Archer's case, punch through barrier like Rho Aias (which is insanely strong for a barrier). A "homing" spear would just stop if it detects it hit something and only follows the target. What Gae Bolg does is beyond obsession of ALWAYS hitting the heart.

The Luck stat determines how well the person can chance or evade negative predetermined events, example would be cu having E rank luck because he had a prophecy telling that he would die horribly at a young age, and... well, he died horribly at a young age - (same with Karna)
I heard alot of bullshit about saber surviving and still feel like its a mistake on typemoons part. You DONT bring in something as insane and as definitive as causality and then just go :durr-hur-hur saber got lucky thats why she alive. They shoulda deviated from the legend more (like they always do) and just made the spear have a lock on system. Missing woulda been more understandable and less bullshitty then dumb luck
For the argument of why Cu would use gae bolg against Artoria when he was ordered not to kill is not that Artoria got lucky, but that gae bolg actually means "Cu's target is pierced before he thrusts" not "The enemy's heart is pierced before he thrusts". The nuance being that it doesn't always pierce the heart, that's just the most effective spot to aim for in most fights, but instead he can choose where to aim. So he spared Artoria because his orders were to not kill. Just my layman's thoughts. Idk if there's a deeper lore reason as to why it's only able to aim for the heart.

The dumbest thing about the Nasuverse is that Gae Bolg is only a B+ class NP because Cu can upgrade it to A+. if the spear itself is already A class then Cu could buff it higher or even up to EX so the spear got nerfed. The downside is that It's always a B+ NP outside of the ability to buff it with runes. It's even more annoying that everything new nowadays is at least an A rank NP.
I don't know about turning Gae Bolg into EX rank, but I know what you mean there. The spear isn't just a powerful attack, but also a symbol of his strength as a hero. To have it classified at B-B+ rank would mean that he'd be like a B lister, except he's not. The spear almost penetrated through a legendary shield specifically designed to block any projectile with impunity in spite of the rank. This was without buffing the spear for more power too. His abilities as a hero are also quite insane considering he held off Gilgamesh for about half a day when Herc died in a matter of minutes. Cu's abilities are rather powerful, but the stats don't really reflect what is being shown.
As much as I love how Cu is animated, Gae Bolg itself is taking retrocausality and turning it into an ability. It's stupid. Retrocausality is a thought experiment and Gae Bolg basically takes any form of agency away from the rest of existence and relies on a Grail-specific stat for it to maybe or maybe not work as intended. And how? It just works. That's all, it just works. It's not really that Saber has plot armor, but that Gae Bolg is author-induced stupidity. And sadly, it's canon.
Divine Spirits are the Gods in the fate universe,gods like Amaterasu and Lugh for example.Divine Spirits have an ability known as “Authority” which allows them to manipulate time,space,cause and effect or anything they want within the confines of the planet.Gae Bolg itself isn’t what reverses causality,this is an ability Cu perfected USING Gae Bolg.Cu is able to reverse causality because he has the blood of Lugh in him,a divine spirit.Him reversing causality is just him using a weaker version of the “Authority” that Divine Spirits have,I hope this helps.
Honestly, one problem I have with how servants work in the nasuverse is that they are just clones created by the holy grail, and they just die when the war is over. It makes me feel like the character development is meaningless.
Not quite, they're still carbon copies of the real deal, although nerfed by the grail war rules. When they die, the original Heroic Spirit absorbs *everything* the copy learned and experienced, as if he himself lived it. The development is still there. The whole "their new summoning don't get to have the memory from previous wars" only applies because of the limitations of Fuyuki's Grail War rules. In Grand Order for example they do remember stuff.

Having listened to the actual Epic, How have they not made beating the joy out of your life permanently an Ability? That just mean, seriously something where you wish you would have been killed.
I thought Kirei's order was not "Fight the Servant once, retreat, and fight again later", but "If Gae Bolg doesn't kill, retreat". When Saber deflects Gae Bolg, Lancer says "If I use that move, it has to be fatal or I'm in trouble...You dodged my spear, so he's ordering me home". Lancer's initial objective is to observe the enemy Servants, but there was no order against killing them if possible
From the novel "Lancer was under the Command Spell's bind. To learn his enemies' strengths, his Master told Lancer, "Fight against everyone. But do not defeat them. Survive your first battle against any opponent." Also, before my point gets misconstrued, defeat does mean kill in this context. He's in trouble because he used his phantasm without killing her, thus revealing his strengths and weaknesses. Notice how she immediately recognized who he was afterwards. "Gae Bolg...You're Ireland's Child of Light." An investment without return.
Honestly I wish they redid his parameters as they're way too mediocre for a guy who's supposedly up there with the likes of Artoria. Your don't need to even sub in his Alter version's parameters, just give him his Prototype version's parameters and his Fate Extra's A-rank Endurance and boom, you got very solid stats.
9:36 - 9:41 Why would Emiya be laughing at that, Emiya Archer got hit by that in UBW and his Rho Aias barely saved his arm and got his ass whooped in the process (at least that's what the anime told me). So you plan on covering Cu's stats from his other classes such as when he's summoned as a Caster? This was pretty cool because 1) It's another example of how to pronounce Cu's fucking name, and 2) It shows that Cu isn't a little bitch. I say this because to my knowledge, Cu gets bodied in every route of Fate/Stay Night before doing anything real noteworthy. He most certainly got punked in the Fate route and he at least gave Emiya Archer a good shake up in UBW. I haven't read it, but from what I've heard everyone gets fucked beyond belief in Heaven's Feel so it might not be his fault there. At least Cu does something though unlike Medusa, she gets punked even harder until Heaven's Feel rolls around which sounds like a massive contradiction. The only suggestion i could make would be to cover something that the other big Fate channels have not covered yet. For example, OtakuDaiKun has done basic lore videos on stuff like the routes for Tsukuhime and Fate/Stay Night as well as lore videos for characters like Cu and Artorias. That might be difficult to think of something, but if no one's covered it, jump on that shit. I made a suggestion at some point about making videos about "If BLANK character from another series was a servant in Fate, what would their stats/skills/class(s)/Noble Phantasm/Legend be?" Maybe you could make up a backstory as if they really did exists in Fate/Earth's past/future as to why they're a Fate servant or if they were alive in the Fate universe, when were they around and how could they fit in as opposed to being a 100% "what if" scenario. I hope that made sense.
If we're doing Fate Extra next, then we gotta talk about Lu Bu, Kiara and EMIYA Alter. I know Kiara isn't a Servant technically...buuuuuut.....come on man, she too fine.
I've seen it. I wouldn't go as far as saying he's invulnerable to projectiles, but more so Cu's high projectile defense + the fact that assassin isn't an actual archer nullified the attacks.
I'm really not sure what "mana in the air is frozen" means, as in VN it seems like artful description. Also i think your video on magical energy contradicts some points about this. It doesnt matter if mana in the air is frozen that much, individuals and servants can still use their internal mana storage to use abilities, spells etc. And I dont think the "blue" part was meant to be freezing mana in the air, it's just artistic representation of timey-wimey reversal. In fact, i think first we saw Saber predicting the outcome with instinct, but then it showed how it actually happened perhaps. Also the show itself (Rin) comments on how he is using massive amount of mana when he prepares his NP and it is all glowy. So how is he not using mana? "Energy he has in his body" is his mana. And like almost every other servant they can only really spam as much mana as their master provides in short time. But if he does freeze mana in the air, it is likely because he draws the mana from the air into his NP, which again contradicts you saying he doesn't use mana in the air, but from his body. There seems to be some confusion.
If cu gae bolg has a almost 100% chance to hit his target then why use it on a servant ? why not use it on a master, It makes things easier for him than use it on a servant who can block or dodge it >.>

So I have 2 cu chulainn that are both Lancers in FGO? I'm so confused because one has 7000 atk and one has 7200. Then one is 10000 hp, one is 9000hp...........
The one with 7,000 ATK is from Fate/Prototype. He was originally supposed to be the first version of Cu Chulainn before he got remodeled into the guy in the video. The one with 7,200 is the guy in the video. He's from Fate/Stay Night. Same character, but they changed some aspects about his demeanor and appearance.
It would still hit karna, because karna's armor blocks everything *uncoming* to him, but not anything inside him, or things that effect where his armor doesnt cover. Vlad III from /extra could hit Karna from the inside. Cu's attack is something that only hits the heart, he doesn't actually 'strike' or 'attack'.
not a good fight...karna honestly holds almost every advantage...stronger NPs, better range, far more offensive power, far better defense, better stats, arguably better skills, protection from sun demigods lower than his divinity...the only chance cu has is if he uses gae blog which has terrible range and nothing karna can't stay out of...honestly karna takes this 9/10
They are relatively similar and I’m not sure fire could hurt both of them so it would most likely be more about who is better with the spear. I would say Cu does have a pretty good chance at beating him.
It really depends on how Gae Bolg interacts with Karna's armor. If he can't use Gae Bolg to deal the damage to kill Karna, then Karna definitely holds a huge advantage in power. Cu also doesn't really have the means to take any of Karna's NPs.

I only recently learned how Cu Chulainn and Scáthach are actually pronounced, so hearing you pronounce the names correctly was a big plus for me.

As much as I love how Cu is animated, Gae Bolg itself is taking retrocausality and turning it into an ability. It's stupid. Retrocausality is a thought experiment and Gae Bolg basically takes any form of agency away from the rest of existence and relies on a Grail-specific stat for it to maybe or maybe not work as intended. And how? It just works. That's all, it just works.
It's not really that Saber has plot armor, but that Gae Bolg is author-induced stupidity. And sadly, it's canon.

Honestly, one problem I have with how servants work in the nasuverse is that they are just clones created by the holy grail, and they just die when the war is over. It makes me feel like the character development is meaningless.
Not quite, they're still carbon copies of the real deal, although nerfed by the grail war rules. When they die, the original Heroic Spirit absorbs *everything* the copy learned and experienced, as if he himself lived it. The development is still there.
The whole "their new summoning don't get to have the memory from previous wars" only applies because of the limitations of Fuyuki's Grail War rules. In Grand Order for example they do remember stuff.

Maybe it was a combination of Lancer's shit luck + Artoria's high luck + Kirei ordering Lancer to only observe the other Servants that cause Lancer's Gay Bulge (deliberate typo) to not properly pierce Artoria (deliberate innuendo) so that she would have been sufficiently undamaged for Shirou to become a waifu~

Having listened to the actual Epic, How have they not made beating the joy out of your life permanently an Ability? That just mean, seriously something where you wish you would have been killed.
I thought Kirei's order was not "Fight the Servant once, retreat, and fight again later", but "If Gae Bolg doesn't kill, retreat". When Saber deflects Gae Bolg, Lancer says "If I use that move, it has to be fatal or I'm in trouble...You dodged my spear, so he's ordering me home". Lancer's initial objective is to observe the enemy Servants, but there was no order against killing them if possible

Also, before my point gets misconstrued, defeat does mean kill in this context. He's in trouble because he used his phantasm without killing her, thus revealing his strengths and weaknesses. Notice how she immediately recognized who he was afterwards. "Gae Bolg...You're Ireland's Child of Light." An investment without return.

Honestly I wish they redid his parameters as they're way too mediocre for a guy who's supposedly up there with the likes of Artoria. Your don't need to even sub in his Alter version's parameters, just give him his Prototype version's parameters and his Fate Extra's A-rank Endurance and boom, you got very solid stats.

This was pretty cool because 1) It's another example of how to pronounce Cu's fucking name, and 2) It shows that Cu isn't a little bitch. I say this because to my knowledge, Cu gets bodied in every route of Fate/Stay Night before doing anything real noteworthy. He most certainly got punked in the Fate route and he at least gave Emiya Archer a good shake up in UBW. I haven't read it, but from what I've heard everyone gets fucked beyond belief in Heaven's Feel so it might not be his fault there. At least Cu does something though unlike Medusa, she gets punked even harder until Heaven's Feel rolls around which sounds like a massive contradiction.
The only suggestion i could make would be to cover something that the other big Fate channels have not covered yet. For example, OtakuDaiKun has done basic lore videos on stuff like the routes for Tsukuhime and Fate/Stay Night as well as lore videos for characters like Cu and Artorias. That might be difficult to think of something, but if no one's covered it, jump on that shit.
I made a suggestion at some point about making videos about "If BLANK character from another series was a servant in Fate, what would their stats/skills/class(s)/Noble Phantasm/Legend be?" Maybe you could make up a backstory as if they really did exists in Fate/Earth's past/future as to why they're a Fate servant or if they were alive in the Fate universe, when were they around and how could they fit in as opposed to being a 100% "what if" scenario. I hope that made sense.

I've seen it. I wouldn't go as far as saying he's invulnerable to projectiles, but more so Cu's high projectile defense + the fact that assassin isn't an actual archer nullified the attacks.

I'm really not sure what "mana in the air is frozen" means, as in VN it seems like artful description. Also i think your video on magical energy contradicts some points about this. It doesnt matter if mana in the air is frozen that much, individuals and servants can still use their internal mana storage to use abilities, spells etc.
And I dont think the "blue" part was meant to be freezing mana in the air, it's just artistic representation of timey-wimey reversal. In fact, i think first we saw Saber predicting the outcome with instinct, but then it showed how it actually happened perhaps.
Also the show itself (Rin) comments on how he is using massive amount of mana when he prepares his NP and it is all glowy. So how is he not using mana? "Energy he has in his body" is his mana. And like almost every other servant they can only really spam as much mana as their master provides in short time. But if he does freeze mana in the air, it is likely because he draws the mana from the air into his NP, which again contradicts you saying he doesn't use mana in the air, but from his body. There seems to be some confusion.

So I have 2 cu chulainn that are both Lancers in FGO? I'm so confused because one has 7000 atk and one has 7200. Then one is 10000 hp, one is 9000hp...........
The one with 7,000 ATK is from Fate/Prototype. He was originally supposed to be the first version of Cu Chulainn before he got remodeled into the guy in the video.
The one with 7,200 is the guy in the video. He's from Fate/Stay Night. Same character, but they changed some aspects about his demeanor and appearance.

It would still hit karna, because karna's armor blocks everything *uncoming* to him, but not anything inside him, or things that effect where his armor doesnt cover. Vlad III from /extra could hit Karna from the inside. Cu's attack is something that only hits the heart, he doesn't actually 'strike' or 'attack'.
not a good fight...karna honestly holds almost every advantage...stronger NPs, better range, far more offensive power, far better defense, better stats, arguably better skills, protection from sun demigods lower than his divinity...the only chance cu has is if he uses gae blog which has terrible range and nothing karna can't stay out of...honestly karna takes this 9/10

They are relatively similar and I’m not sure fire could hurt both of them so it would most likely be more about who is better with the spear. I would say Cu does have a pretty good chance at beating him.
It really depends on how Gae Bolg interacts with Karna's armor. If he can't use Gae Bolg to deal the damage to kill Karna, then Karna definitely holds a huge advantage in power. Cu also doesn't really have the means to take any of Karna's NPs.
