    Nice review. Watch those electronic angle finders as they go out of tolerance very quickly. I use the Axminster one and need to reset it several times when checking angles. Grubscrews in that are simikar to adjust as your old Bosch (I had the same model). Your dust extraction is well designed by the looks of it. I have the Charnwood W650 which is I think a better machine overall but it has woeful dust extraction! The Axminster is a lightweight compared with most cabinet saws! If you ever upgrade it you’re in for a shock! Mine weighs 129kg and was back breaking to get into place! I’m surprised how noisy that Axminster is. Mine is quiet enough I don’t have to raise my voice to be heard… perhaps the bksde is contributing? Talking if which, try the uk made Shark blades. They’re superb and mine easily betters my Axminster premium blade for half the cost!

    Good review pal, great little table saw, if you change out the blade to ones that we use, for example a Freud ProCut blade you can pick up in Screwfix the sound of the machine will decrease even more, I have a huge Laguna Fusion 3 cabinet saw in the workshop and I use the ProCut blade which gives great results and runs very much quieter than the stock blade, anyways good luck with your saw, love how tidy you keep your shop.Louie

    The emergency stop button is just that. It’s also for giving an extra safety step to turn it on when turned off. You shouldn’t use it as a functional use stop button. It’s not designed for the constant wear and tear of on/off use.

    Great review, in regards to the dust port, check out a guy on TH-cam called Izzy swan he has fabricated his own quicklock system for his tools. Which is a good place to get some ideas to do your own version which may help you massively as you can put them on all your machines and then just lock them on and off as needed, I hope this helps bud. Keep up the great work.
    Also how solid is the fence for deflection and how easy is it to set if you don't mind me asking?

    • @mistercandwood2007
      @mistercandwood2007  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the feedback and also for the Izzy Swan tip, will definitely check his system out - much appreciated. In terms of the fence I have mixed views... very stable and locks down well and no discernible deflection but moving the fence is a bit of a pain, basically the locking handle has to be all the way up for the fence to slide... which sounds ok but can actually be a bit tricky with just one hand, i.e. your right hand especially as I am left handed.. this becomes even trickier as I like to manually measure the gap between fence and blade ( a bit retentive I know ) but on certain pieces of stock it makes sense to me.. and trying to lift the handle, move fence and measure with left hand is a wee bit tricky... maybe there is some adjustment I can look at, or talk to the chaps at Axminster tech support.

    To adjust the the riving knife you have remove the knife to get to the grub screws to adjust it which is ridiculous.
    I don't like the blade hood hose stetching across the table to go under to meet up with underside extraction so I separated mine, mine now goes up to the ceiling where the extraction pipes are.
    Don't like the fact that when you use accessory fence on the main fence you can't go by the measuring guide on the rail.
    Apart from the little things that could be better designed its a well built Chinese machine that cuts very well and accurate and generally happy with mine.

    • @mistercandwood2007

      Agree about the adjusting grub screws - you are essentially adjusting blind - i.e. adjust and then refit. Good idea about separating the crown guard extraction, presumably you have capped off the extraction point underneath? Unfortunately I don't have the space in my current workshop to do that. but in my new one I may, so I will definitely look at that.

      @@mistercandwood2007 bit slow off the mark with my reply so expect you've already worked this out. I've just picked up one of these saw and love it.
      To adjust the riving knife I took the side panel off and just dropped the blade a couple of turns and the grub screws can be accessed there. I just used a straight edge against the blade to check for alignment which took a little bit of fettling but was done in 10mins or so.

    Are you able to lower the blade to the lowest position at 45° tilt? I can not do it with older model as the saw blade guard catching the frame. Thanks

      Hi, thanks... I think I might have found a solution... will make a new more detailed review video soon, where I talk about that... although I still think the length of 20mm to attach the dust extractor is just too short... I keep noodling over how to resolve properly

    Great video! Are the back and side panels fairly light weight to add/remove whenever needed?

    • @mistercandwood2007
      @mistercandwood2007  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, thanks... yup they are, in fact I took the back out feed off earlier this week to create a little more space in the workshop.. basically 3 bolts into pre drilled holes, also they are not too heavy at all, and this can be done in your own. I’m waiting until I move into my new workshop, and then I’m pretty sure I’ll buy the left side extension as well, as I’m hoping the saw can be positioned in such a way that is stationary most of the time..
      Glad you enjoyed/liked the video thx

    Great little table saw. One thing I found odd though, the left hand extension table is only as long the the saw bed. So you end up with a weird square section missing in the upper left corner once the left table is fitted.

    Thanks for video. You helped me to decide whether to buy it or not. Currently own dewalt dw745 which is great saw but like you said the weight does the job in axminster craft table saw. Have you had any issues using rip fence? I'm bit worried about locking mechanism which is different to dewalt.

    • @mistercandwood2007
      @mistercandwood2007  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi ya, no real problems with the fence.. once locked it stays locked... the auxiliary fence is very handy as well, especially when you are cutting narrow strips. My only small complaint is that to slide the fence across the table the locking handle seems to have to be held up quite high, and this can be a little tricky with just one hand... this maybe down to the fact that the fence is always on the right hand side, and I am left handed... so I generally find I'm moving the fence it's final position with both hands... No real drama, and I havent had time to properly investigate whether this is adjustable. Thank you for comment and feedback.

    Thanks for the overview. Do you know what the dust collection is like without the blade guard/hood?

    • @mistercandwood2007
      @mistercandwood2007  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Kerry - having used the saw for a while now the dust extraction without the blade guard/hood is pretty good, when you do use the blade guard/hood low over the workpiece, the extraction is excellent. I have combined it with a Axminster Craft AC153E Dust Extractor -
      www.axminstertools.com/axminster-craft-ac153e-2-0hp-dust-extractor-105099
      - which works very well compared to my Bosch Gas 35 L SFC+.
      I suspect the performance of the dust extraction will be heavily dependent upon your dust extractor - there doesn't appear to be too much sawdust inside the casing of the machine, so it does a pretty good job of funneling the debris down through the extraction outlet and hosing.
      Hope this helps.
