Back in 1982 when the Vietnam Wall in DC was dedicated Wayne Newton had agreed to give the veterans in DC a free concert. Twenty-four hours before he was to preform, he said his concert was free, but he needed $250,000 bucks to move his equipment. Of course, we Nam vets told him to go to hell. Somehow Frankie Valley and the Four Seasons were in the process of recording in New York. They heard what Newton had pulled and without hesitation came to DC and gave us a great free concert and literally song for hours.

True story: Saw Frankie Valli concert in Canberra Australia in 1976 or 77. Back in the day people actually sat until the end of a song and then would stand and applaude. It was not a big venue, maybe one thousand tops. There was one lady maybe 10-15 rows from the front who was consistently the first one to jump up and after a while Frankie noticed her. So the end of the show and Frankie walks off and comes back out for the encore. Everyone was cheering and then to everyones astonishment he started motioning to that lady and told security to bring her up on the stage! This women could almost not stand up she was so overwhelmed. Frankie took off a scarf he had been wearing all night and wrapped it around her neck! He then stood maybe 2 feet in front of her and they were face to face and looking right into her eyes throughout the whole song he sang "My Eyes Adored You". The place went wild! The lady was completely overwhelmed and to this day I would wager she is still wearing that scarf!

That lady was my aunt. She passed about 3 years ago and it was in her Will that she wanted to be buried with that very scarf. So yes, she is still wearing that scarf. 😔 When she was hospitalized and knew she wouldn't likely make it, she talked about that experience with the Frankie Valli concert all those years ago. She was so thrilled and happy that she had carried that memory throughout her life and she used to tell everyone about it. She said it was like Frankie was singing that song just to her. She claimed she felt a connection with him and that was undeniable and while she couldn't really understand it and perfectly articulate it, she knew it was real. Well, at least to her it was a real connection. A real moment. When she was in the accident (cause of her passing), she said the EMT folks were trying to pull her out of her wrecked car. They literally had to grab her by her ankles and pull her out. They were pulling her leg just like I'm pulling yours. I hope you enjoyed the story.

He was my next door neighbor when I was 14 years old in Steven Crane Village in Newark NJ. I remember the Limo picking him up to bring him to the Ed Sullivan Show. His 1 daughter was my age and we would baby sit his other 2 daughters. When I was a freshman in Essex Catholic H.S. He gave me one of his suits to wear. It didn’t exactly fit well but I wore it anyway and I told my classmates Frankly Valli gave it to me. When he had to move out of the Projects I helped load the truck and unloaded it in his new two family house in Nutley N.J. I asked him why he brought a 2 family house. He said you can always have money from your tenant. He certainly became one of the best performer of all times.

He's a very warm guy in-person. Back when I was a USPS accountables clerk in Wichita, KS, I once retrieved a Certified letter for him at my caller window. The first thing I noticed were his humble, friendly demeanor and his bright, expressive eyes and big smile. Then I noticed the address on the envelope: The "Frankie Valli Ministries". It turned out that he very-quietly operated outreach missions in low-income neighborhoods. An impressive aspect of his private life he never publicized, instead preferring to keep his fame and charitable works separate.

I never once blamed God for what happen to me. Instead, I put my faithless thoughts toward God. Long story short. I met a nurse and we have been married 50 years. Our son is an ER doctor and our daughter a H.S. math teacher. Have three grandsons and one granddaughter. What happened to me was the worst thing in my life, but it led me to an incredible life I would live all over again if given a choice.

    • @MrEdwardCollins
      @MrEdwardCollins 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@TheGeonam I also don't blame God for what happens to me or anyone else... for the simple reason there is no evidence for God. None. Zero. There's no evidence for any of the thousands of different gods man has worshiped over the past few thousand years.
There's no evidence prayers are heard, let alone answered, by any god.
It is blindingly obvious all world religions are the product of extremely ignorant (not stupid) near barbarians who didn't understand much about the world around them and made up stories to explain things the best they could.
It is also obvious most theists believe in the god that is worshiped by the culture in which they grew up. And everybody is convinced their religion is the only "right" one. They can't all be right, but they can certainly all be wrong.
It is also obvious the universe is just too vast and full of stuff not in any way related to humans to seriously believe it was all made just for us and we are the pinnacle of all creation.
Religious beliefs of today are substantively the same as every other discarded superstitious belief of the past. If It is silly to believe in Zeus and Apollo and Thor and Osiris, It is just as silly to believe in Allah or Jehovah.
Every single bit of proposed "evidence" for the existence of God has either been totally debunked or can be explained through other means. And it is obvious any justification for believing in God is part of an ever-shrinking "god of the gaps" argument.
If someone believes "God gave Franki Valii his voice" then that person must also believe that same god also gave everyone else their attributes... good or bad. They must also believe this same god is responsible for natural disasters, like kill thousands of innocent people each year.
      Otherwise they are cherry picking.
The truth is, we have better answers as to why Valli sings like he does, than "a god did it." However, theists apply cognitive dissonance and blot all such facts from consideration. That being just part of the damage that religion wreaks.

He always insisted on quality production and sweated the details far more than many of his peers. Sometimes his perfectionism made my job hard but the show was always great. I actually liked the 70's-80's version of his band without the separate guy singers because he had the very best back-up bands who were both great players and singers. Can't rule it out 100%, but our seats were 2nd row center from the stage, meaning I couldn't have been more than 20 feet away, and if that was lip-synching, it was by far the best in history. Not one nanosecond were his lips offset from the vocals. So no, I'd say he was not at all faking it.

My husband and I saw Frankie and The four Seasons in concert a few years ago. His voice was so amazing, and because of his age I thought he might be lip syncing. NOPE!! It was him all the way!!! Amazingly AMAZING!!

A top star for over 60 years! I saw him and the Four Seasons in college in 1966! They were already a big time group with many #1 hits!. Has any other performer enjoyed his longevity?

Wow! Frankie Valli, one of my favorites, is like a music superhero whose songs have stayed awesome through the years. His music has been a favorite for ages, crossing over to different generations. He's so legendary that his influence on other musicians and entertainers is huge. You could say his music is like that Energizer Bunny-it just keeps going and going!

He's the same 33-year-old who cranked out his first hit! The only difference is his body aged. Inside he's still the superstar youthful Frankie Valli he always was

Thank you for simply being able to be there, Frankie, and with no physical aids like a wheelchair to boot. You've taken good care of yourself, and you're very lucky. I hope we will all get to continue to listen to you entertain for as long as you can. Beautiful 🎉❤😊

Go to a Johnny Mathis concert. He doesn't rest on his laurels. If he sings 20 songs, at least 2 or 3 will be the best performance he's ever given, even if he has sung those songs over 5,000 times.

@gkirms I honestly feel sorry for the people in the comments who think he's really singing. Same folks who give money to televangelists for their private jets, and who support Trump. Simpletons who are easily conned. Middle America. When you grow up in NYC, you quickly learn how not to be taken advantage of.
