I just remembered reading about a somewhat related discovery. Apparently there were some issues with a tracker implanted on a great white and this lead to the discovery that apparently something ate that great white.

They say that he didn't exist and the story of it by the fisherman over the years where fairy tail, but they whare proven wrong. Just because people are not see it that you can throw the story away.
Tylosaurus was significantly smaller than the average meg lol. Tylos reached an average length of around 40-43 ft, while megs reached an average of around 50-54 ft. Not only were megs longer, but they were immensely heavier than the measly 15-20 tons of a Tylo.
Maybe Meg continues to exist in the lineage of the Great White Shark. The biomass required to sustain a Meg became scarce, and a selective pressure was placed on their offspring, selecting for smaller progeny.
I trust the fishermen that are there all day every day and that know the difference between a whale shark and any other shark. Than some scientists going off data in a lab or might have gone down in a submersible a few times.

It's like a huge coincidence. All the mega predators became extinct just so we humans can emerge and become the top of food chain. It's a creepy coincidence or god's play. We never know.
