    Thank you.
I’m a survivor of a 5 ton truck accident at 98 km and it was towing a caravan.
Although extremely grateful to survive, that impact has lasted longer than I anticipated.
This needs to be shared everywhere

This needs to be shown to every teenager in every single high school throughout Australia. I worked as a nurse who specialized in spinal injuries, and this documentary brought me close to tears many times because this really is how it is for victims and their families. We all thought we were 10 foot tall and bulletproof, but accidents do happen, and this is an essential message we need to get through to the youth of this country. If just one young person is saved from serious injuries....I have sent this to everyone I know who have teens and young adults. It can happen to you, and nobody can really anticipate the impact it would have if you were that person. Wonderful documentary!

Yes! What I Love about this documentary is the be thing most people do not realise….. that our injuries may not be seen by people but a brain injury is so difficult to navigate… then people say “but you look normal”. All I can see is how different I am since the accident and how everything is so difficult or impossible now. There’s no choice with some injuries. Some can’t get recovered. This is forever because another driver was distracted. It’s horrible.I count to ten on my fingers again like I’m 4. How can people understand if they haven’t known someone with brain injuries

I also worked within a spinal unit during my training, it was the hardest place I have ever worked as a nurse. I’ll never forget hearing young men being told that they will never walk again and the anguish that you could hear that comes from them after being told this. ❤

An excellent and important documentary. I hope this is shown in all schools and as part of acquiring a driver's licence.

I’m sorry hear of your accident. I agree and wish no one had to go through thus. I’m a survivor too. I hate what the accident did. The physical pain is relentless and excruciating, the lack of ability both physically or in my brain. There is NOTHING the same as before. And this is forever…. No choice.

I'm sorry u went thru such trauma, and ur still suffering!
I damaged my back very badly in a fall down a flight of stairs at 29 and am still in agony at 58. I can't imagine the pure terror of a car crash, omg!
      Hopefully, ur pain eases Lily.@lillywildflower

@@WendyP1965 thank you. To be honest I think the injury brings back memories no matter how it happened. Falling down stairs would give a fear of the same thing happening again and we change to become hyper vigilant with stairs. I think it’s the same with a car accident. It is that split second when you know it’s going to happen…. It happening and life changes. Stairs or car accident would have the same feelings. I guess after an injury we all face the same obstacles of relearning things that we can, learning to adapt, accept etc.

“The thing I miss the most, is my life.” That is such a sad statement to hear someone say. It’s acknowledging that all the hopes, dreams, and goals that you once had for yourself will never come true.

These people? Nice reference. 😢 we are people, we dint refer to people without brain injuries as THOSE people. We don’t refer to children in a classroom as THOSE people. Why refer to people who are injured in a car accident as THESE people? We don’t need to feel MORE different thanks

Biting people’s heads off & accusing them of being ableist, even in a roundabout way, doesn’t help people understand why they should be more sensitive about the language they use.
You could have kindly brought it to their attention, and it could have served as a learning experience.
You did nothing here, except sound like a jerk.

With the second case they bring up, they show a picture of the girl that was injured with her friend at the time, and they clearly show both of their faces, then suddenly blur the friends face out…🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ Like, what was the point? You already showed her face!😂

What needs to be dealt with appropriately is the art of defensive driving - and unfortunately for those of us who have experienced road trauma, most people will say, “no, that trains people to be hesitant/reckless/over confident”. We, as a country, also need to get some continuity in road rules! This bullshit of each State having differing legislation, and local council areas putting different speed zones in some ares but neglecting line marking and giveway signs and stop signs - it’s not just about driver’s being capable or incapable, or cars being safe or unsafe! It certainly “should” not be about bullies in police uniforms bitching about their overtime allowances!

  • @voicije

kids get on the road too easy and too early.. they don't have enough experiences driving... they don't have that right reflexes... it's not 10 to 20 driving lessons that make you a driver...

Come over for a cup of coffee and see how shit life is when you get a brain injury from a car accident. It’s sucks and I dint care if you were bored in this video. I effing wish the b1tch who drove through a stop sign was the one living with the injuries she caused but she got nothing. Not even a scratch or bruise. I have a broken brain and physical disabilities that would fill pages if I listed them. If this doco makes ONE person see what a car accident can do…. And how much life changes, then the doco worked. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.

You’re either a troll or there’s something deeply missing within you to have this response. Just remember, if we’re complacent & judge others, life has a horrible way of putting us in the shoes of those we dismissed. Something to think about.
