The reason that he didn’t learn earth bending from Boomy when they passed through Omashu was because of the way they Avatar cycle works. Like the said in the air temple episode there’s an order. He has to learn the elements in a specific order. Since he is air it then goes water, earth, and fire last. So he has to go learn waterbending before he can learn earth ending. It’s like knowing how to warm up before you lift the heaviest weight and pull something. Or learning simple math before more hardcore stuff.

Doesn't it make sense though? You don't see earth benders make earth out of thin air, or water benders just creating water before bending them.
Akhil Nair because they almost always have their elements around them, waterbenders only have a problem in the desert, because there is water in plants and in the air, also their bodies, and earthbenders only have a problem on the ocean, but even then they could bend the dust from their shoes and make it into a piece of rock. Firebenders also have problems firebending in for example extreamly cold temperatures, or when their breathing is off, for example if ang stopped zuko from breathing by airbending the air away from zukos mouth and nose, zukos firebending would become extreamly weak or nonexistent even, so all of them have weaknesses, exept airbending basically, but airbending can’t do as extreme damage as other elements, so I guess it all equals out
@@hannesh234 yeah, because when the elements are not around, then they can't bend. If there is no earth or water around, then earth benders or water benders can't bend. The same rules must apply for fire, but apparently firebenders can create fire out of thin air for some reason.
For firebenders, it is mentioned briefly in the beginning of the series by Uncle. But firebending is something that comes from the "chi" deep within, you use your breath and extend it out beyond your limbs. Sometimes you'll notice when firebenders are fighting their breathing is synced with each move they make.

@@SeanTanktop It was initially made for children but I think it deals with a lot of subjects and concepts that kids won't understand fully until they're older. In that way, it is not a kids show but a show made for everyone to enjoy.
The dad's voice actor (Kevin Michael Richardson) has some dope range.
He also voices Cleveland Jr. on The Cleveland Show and Family Guy.
Cleveland: "Dammit, Junior, I told you to stay out of Donna's closet."
Junior: "Okay, daddy. I just wanted to play with her purple lightsaber."
He also voiced Lester on The Cleveland Show, if you can believe that.
Bumi did explain why he could not teach Aang in ep 5, its because Aang need to learn in the order of the Avatar cycle, so Bumi said to him to go learn water then come back.
Also, on Firebenders, on its base its energy manipulation, the body generate heat and they use their "magic" to expand it. We know that its more difficult to generate fire in extreme cold. But yeah, both air and fire are kinda cheating for their easier access. Water can be extracted from air, but they would need to be a very powerful bender to do so (while I believe that in the future when cientific knowledge became more common said ability will be easier to do so as people will understand how it can happen instead of brute force it by "feeling" the water)
Similar here, for better or worse, individual power is very important and they just dont have the ability to feel the earth so far down to bring it up.

I saw it a whole ass 10 years ago and literally can only remember that everyone was boring and couldn't even remember their names.
@@SeanTanktop I don't know if you remember but in that movie firebenders actually needed fire near them, which does balance it with the other elements, but the whole point is that they used this advantage to start the war.
On another note, the scene that is meant to represent this episode, in the movie, they didn't even try to show that the earthbenders couldn't bend, since the scene takes place on the side of a mountain, literally ON earth.
I have never seen the movie, but I like how I immediately have the instinct to yawn.

I think the point was that the earthbenders had to save themselves, and first mentally as they weren't "lazy" at all, but after the abuse and traumas of war and prison, had leared helpnessness. Katara's role was to give them hope again, support them so they could believe in them again and free themselves.

Well,...a good thing to remember is that bending is based on skill as well as power. Some are just more powerful. You can't base what others can do based on what the team can do. Katara is shown to be very powerful but has no skill, and has both because he's the avatar. But some you'll see just don't have it.

The voice actor for Haru’s father is Kevin Michael Richardson (Keith David was the voice actor for Goliath in Gargoyles, they’re both burly black dudes with deep, rich, and sonorous voices), and KMR also does a ton of voices for Seth MacFarlane shows, and also The Joker in “The Batman” animated series. He also shows up voice-acting one of the most epic characters and moments during the 4-part series finale of Avatar in season 3. Seriously, his voice gives you chills.

Once again people reacting to the series and wondering why the firebenders can create fire out of thin air and don't need to have their element nearby like everyone else.
I can understand that it seems unfair at first glance, but even as a child I never questioned something like that because it simply has to make sense in the context of the series lantern or a lighter or whatever. To use the fire, because you could simply blow out the flame and then they are powerless. Secondly, because the firebenders are the only ones who can create their element, they always have an advantage compared to everyone else, they are, to put it bluntly, stronger than the other people, and there must be a logistical reason why one nation would attack the other.
Because, unfortunately, that's a fact that's still happening to this day. People attack other countries because they think I'm stronger than the other. That gives me the right to attack that and take that over.
And yes, technical progress or not in a boxing match, nobody asks you. According to binomial formulas from the wins simply the one with the better blow and it must therefore be proven here why the full nation has the better blow.
So how else could the writers have established the entire Fire Nation as a threat?
PS: In contrast to fresh air, water or earth, fire is not an element that will occur of its own accord in the wild. At least not without limits. There are forest fires, but there are. Water sources, there are air sources and there are earth sources, but there is no fire source. There is no "natural" fire source therefore.

Also in Ep 2, it was stated to master the elements in a particular order. It's Air, water, earth and then Fire.

If you go the science way, fire is just certain flammable molecules able to activate and move very fast it produces warmth and light.
Flames without oxygen is a no no.
Air within a air sealed area would suffocate oneself
Water is difficult to bend in heat
Earth mostly needs to be not compressed enough to be able to be moved.
All have limits.
Bending is manipulating chi on a element. Fire doesn't really have a physical element, just energy. So it's why it's always possible for a fire bender to be able to fight but they use up more of their chi as balance.
