Figured I’d fight it out to my death and see what I could do. I knew I was screwed when I couldn’t get the wood to make a market (well even that would have been wishful thinking). Hadn’t played many at this point. Now I tend to just move. 😊
I dont think you can say mongol sucks if you make so many mistakes. From little things like not moving the ger away from gold after making the step redoubt while your vils are next to the ger to major things like not making the deer stones which gives you prob the biggest mongol eco bonus on large FFA nomad maps with random resource spreads and random spawns - free wheelbarrow. The Silver tree bonus means nothing in a large FFA map where you will boom anyway the half off on traders means little plus faster trader production can be counterbalanced by making a second market. You also wasted too much time tower rushing which allowed the people around you to boom and plan for the easy kill i.e. you and Rus. I feel like with mongol your best chance is chill and move frequently to a secluded corner when you can. Secure trade and mass trade which gives you access to unlimited stone and then spam cannon towers and go for wonder.
In these sorts of games the Mongols aren't good. The tradeoff with the Mongols is that you can't build fortification buildings and ovoos mean double production but you don't have to build houses. But in a FFA game that goes for an hour, players scratch their balls with the amount of wood needed to build houses to support pop space. You can collect that in a matter of minutes. Not to mention the value of fortifications in games with kings. Who gives a shit about double producing units, I want stone walls and keeps to protect my king.
From my perspective, your mistakes is using wololol on orange's villagers when you don't really need to wololol since you have been able to exhaust their resources. That gives everybody an invitation. Even if the main threat is red, yellow could possibly join the party since he is the closest of the two.
Hmmm, actually Mongols may be awesome. Rush build on mid, scout map, and change position to the safe spot continuing growth. Build some cannon towers, put the king to the safest one, and circle it with spearmen to prevent a cavalry rush.
The one thing I do like about playing fast castle mongols in mid is you can do a relic heist stuffing them into your prayer tent and then pack up prayer tent and all relics go with you to your new home somewhere safe. Still have same problem with king snipes tho, building many TC's in feudal is probs better than fast castle overall, depends on the game tho i guess.
One of the issues with this game mode is the tower/barbican rushes. Considering how close players can be to each other, it can be almost impossible to recover from or defend against

Could've you moved your TC into range of orange trying to build Kremlin and then stacked it with vills? He would have been out of the game right there.
Drongo, just stick to casting. Why have you not pasted dear right at the botom, when he had 2 vils left? And then just made men at arms age 3. or archers age to deny any movement of his vils? He should have never been allowed to make that many vils and reach age 3.
I think Mongols solution are: 1. make their Main TC garrisonable for a person while packed, similar to Ottoman sieze crew Vizir point. 2. A tech that can make packed Main TC move "as fast" as on the Aoe4 campaign. With King garrison left main TC and super fast moment.....pack it up boys🎪💨
I do think he's quite knowledgeable about the game and general player tactics due to his casting experience. His micro is okay as well. Difference between knowing something about a lot vs specializing in say a specific civ for this game
@@_Makanko_ I think you addressed the question. Yes, I think his micro is okay. His planning is okay too. But he's does make a lot of mistakes. And he doesn't know everything about every civ. No way. Well he forgets a lot. But it does take a bit to learn them all and get fast. Still don't see how he's conqueror. I guess thats his specialist account. Well, yea I'm sure it is...
There also is a difference between playing 1v1s and FFAs, some players are better at one or the other. Bit of different strategies and tactics, and taking different approaches to playing.
@@KitLee698 There's alot going on in FFA games, its hard to play a perfect one. He makes alot of the mistakes/ forced plays he calls players out on in the Outback octagon. Not walling, getting caught fighting a neighbor. He also plays like a uber aggressive ADHD style where he can't hold back from not being in a fight or action for longer then a couple min. Also, focuses alot on minor micro for vils, in longer very open games booming with quantity will win over fine micro of vils.

I think mongols can be very powerful in ffa once people figure out the king snipe issue. Having a small and mobile base is a life saver.
