It was so nice listening to Robin talk about her designs . I love her cross stitch designs and pairing them with the fabric backgrounds is the best. The majority of what I work on is small to medium sized projects because I like finishes. However, I am dipping my toes into the bigger projects but obviously, those are an investment of time and dedication, which I don't always have.
Robin - I love that you are combining cross stitch with your fabric. Everything you do is beautiful. I enjoy making smalls but also medium projects like your seasonal birds with the quilt motifs.
Thank you for always having new things to introduce us to that we might not otherwise see! I love the way Robin uses fabric to act as a mat for her cross-stitch. I like small projects that I can finish in a few days so I feel like I've accomplished something. And, Kimberly, I love the blouse you are wearing!!
I really enjoyed the Robin Pickens trunk show! She is a fantastic designer. I love all of the color theory she talks about in her videos. I like stitching all sizes of cross stitch. I would say medium size is my favorite, and then smalls for ornaments and dough bowl pillows, and then I'll choose a large if it is really something I want to permanently add to my decor in a nice frame or to make into a large pillow or wallhanging. 🐦🌷🐦🌷
I loved the flosstube today. It was so fun hearing from Robin about her cross stitch designs. I really like stitching medium to small projects. I really liked the seasonal bird patterns. 😊
I loved seeing Robin’s designs! I also love how she coordinates her cross stitch with her fabric and uses the fabric on her framed pieces! Mid size projects are my favorites to stitch on but if I love it I’d stitch any size❤
Oh such a awesome journey fir Robin… love her whimsy, color, texture and another path of medium with great designs. Watched this video after the live… such an enjoyment… thank you Kimberly and FQ team for this awesome video👍👍🤗
Oh yes, I am in the "what will Robin do" fan club with regards to a quilt block. I am really liking her cross-stitch patterns, too. I particularly like the Christmas diamond ornaments. I love, love her take on Moonbeams.
I love to work on small and medium projects. I love Robin Pickens style in cross stitch and fabric. So glad to have found your designs. Keep them coming
Robin Pickens is such a sweet lady! I love her new cross stitch patterns. I like to do smalls around Christmas for ornaments and gifts but like large ones too that challenge me and make a statement. Mediums are fun too for decor items. I guess I just like to stitch... lol
I was so excited to watch this video with Robin Pickens! I recently bought a couple of her patterns without having seen her work before for a couple of reasons, first because the designs are beautiful and second because the patterns are in color. When they arrived in the mail, I was very impressed. I enjoy working on small to medium projects because I can finish the stitching and am more apt to actually fully finish them. Thanks for the great flosstube interview! 💕
Totally enjoyed listening to Robin speak about her journey and what is in her future. I have cross stitched since the early 1980’s and have done pieces of all sizes. My largest piece was 60,000 stitches. I watched Robins video done before Christmas about her Christmas ornaments and how she finished the backs. I cross stitched ornaments years ago on perforated paper and the backs were not finished. So using her information I finished the backs on all 10 and I am very pleased with them. Since retirement I have returned to quilting and absolutely love it. I am currently working on Robins free download, “Happy Fall Acorn” and my plan is to make it into a bowl filler, very similar to what she did with her valentine pillows. I love the way she is incorporating quilt blocks into her cross stitch pieces….the best of both worlds. I would be very interested in a video of how she mounts and frames her cross stitch pieces, they are absolutely stunning with the fabric in the background. Now at my age I am somewhat intimidated by large pieces but I still feel I can manage small to medium pieces. Thank you for all that you do. Your designs and colors bring a lot of joy. Martina
Goodness from one Robin to another I adore your pieces and finishing ❤ I truly enjoy small to medium stitching more than anything. The more years I stitch the less room I have for a project that takes a full yard of linen! ❤
Loved your floss tube featuring Robin Pickens. She was so interesting and inspiring. I enjoy having a larger project to work on but then I like to throw in some small projects in the mix for that satisfying feeling of finishing something but I would have to say medium projects are my favorite. I will be looking up Robin so I can follow her journey.
This was a very nice video. Thank you Robin for sharing your crossstitch patterns and ideas for finishing. Your fabric is beautiful. Kimberly thank you for bringing this to your members.❤
Really enjoyed listening to Robin about her fabrics and cross stitch! I enjoy the small and medium charts the best but will do larger ones occasionally. Thank you!
I tend to shy away from the very large projects as I like the feeling of accomplishment that comes from smalls or larger things with small motifs. Loved your fall frolic sampler!
I love the medium size projects. And it was lovely Kim having you for her guest designer, I love your designs and can’t wait to see what you will have in the near future,Mika’s your into cross stitch. Thank you. Hope to see you soon.
I always have a few really big ones scattered into all the other sizes. I love the variety of many different sizes to keep things interesting. Loved your trunk show. You have a very bright future in the cross stitch world!!
I am so impressed by Robin Pickens and her impressive knowledge of color and design. She is a new favorite of mine. Thanks Kimberly for introducing such a talented artist. Just love her! As far a size of projects, I prefer stitches that fit standard size frames. 4x4 and 5x7. Will tackle an occasional large project/sampler.
My house is too small for large projects so I prefer small and medium sized projects. I have done some large ones but it’s hard to find a place to display them in my home. Robin has such a talent for color combinations. I love the posies.
Oh my goodness! You might be my new favorite cross stitch designer. Beautiful patterns. Used your fabrics, especially thatched since they came out. You have so many talents. Thanks Kimberly for interviewing her. .
Hi Robin I love a combination of small, medium and large cross stitch pieces. I like the versatility of being able to go back and forth between all three.
I really enjoyed your guest. Her cross stitch and quilting designs really resonate with me. I want to start all of her designs now! I think most of my WIPs are medium to large in size. But a variety in size is always good.
What a wonderful live! It is nice to see creators I am not familiar with. Robin has beautiful cross stitch designs. I do not have many cross stitch projects completed so I would say my favorite size project would be small. Thanks, Kimberly and all involved for such great content!
Loved seeing all your cross stitch designs. I want them all. I am also a big fan of all your fabric lines and quilt patterns. I like working on small to medium cross stitch designs. Patiently waiting for the release of Winterly. Thanks for sharing with us today.
Robin Pickens was an interesting guest. Thanks for having her! In order to not collect cross stitch UFOs like I have quilt UFOs, I’ve been working on small projects like little 3” pillows to display in a wooden bowl. They’re so cute. I’ve been making either seasonal, monthly or “special day” pillows. Now I’ll have to get some of Robin’s small to medium size projects because they’re so beautiful!
Kimberly, thank you for having Robin Pickens as your guest; I was not familiar with her or her designs until your floss tube. Lots of sweet designs that look to be in my personal “sweet spot” size - medium sized designs. I also like smalls, but large designs, especially full coverage designs, are too intimidating. Part of that is probably my age- I’m 68 and if I know a project is likely to take a year or more, I won’t even consider it! I want the satisfaction of my project being finished.
I really like working on small and medium size project. Loved the live Stream today. Really enjoyed seeing Robin Pickens and able to get to know her and her designs. Thank you.
I enjoyed listening to and watching Robin Pickens today. Her cross stitch patterns are so unique - I love them for that. I prefer medium size pieces, stitched on an even weave. I like to frame my cross stitch, so I will try Robin’s method of placing the cross stitch onto a sticky board that has been covered in fabric, with a frame of 8” x 10”. I do really like square pieces, also.
Medium size projects are probably my favorites, but I like small and large too. Can't wait to get started on some of Robin's patterns!! Love everything from this video!
Thank you for having Robin as your guest. I love to work on pieces that finish about 5 x 7 so that I am not overwhelmed to get them done and enjoy seeing my progress. I also like pieces that you can pull out a motif to make a pillow or name tags. Thanks and I’m going to go get your Mod Bloom to go with the quilt I made. PS - Thatched is awesome!
I'm so glad you've featured Robin. I didn't know about her quilting, fabric, crosstitching and floss. Your a sweet spirt. I enjoyed your turtorial. Thank you
I enjoy the smaller projects around 5 x 7 or smaller because the larger sizes intimidate me and I like my stitching projects to be "instant gratification." I am loving the Fall Frolic Sampler! I have made the small blocks and love the great ideas for framing, making pillows etc. Thank you for your wonderful patterns!
I absolutely love the color studies for various blocks I’ve seen that Robin Pickens has posted. Absolutely stunning and so very helpful in making decisions on color choices and placement.
Thank you Kimberly and Robin this was a GREAT livestream. I so enjoyed learning more about Robin and seeing her designs, love love love the idea of designs to coordinate with fabric lines. I enjoy stitching all sizes of project but think I lean more towards a medium sized design. Happy stitching 😊
Robin I love your fabric and your designs. I like cross-stitching anything from smalls to 8x10 size. I find it easier to frame or finish. If it’s too big I won’t finish it completely. Kimberly thank you for having Robin on. Thank you for all you do for both communities.
Just found the time to view today’s FlossTube and LOVED it! I really didn’t know anything about Robin Pickens but when I saw that I had a chart of hers I really started paying attention ◡̈. Kimberly these wonderful interviews are my favorite. There is something about “bonding” with the designers makes stitching so rich! Thank you for hosting them. I stitch smalls and medium projects. Haven’t started a large one yet but I do have a large chart that I hope to start and finish before I die 😂. Have a great Wednesday Kimberly!
Hello Kimberly and Robin! I had no idea of your designs Robin and love them all. I can not wait to start some of your designs. I like all sizes to cross stitch on but since I have 4 large projects in the works I am drawn to small or medium ones now. Trees and birds are magic.
Thank you Robin and Kimberly! Robin I’m just loving your cross stitch designs! In fact, once I finish up a few of my WIP’s I’m going to order a couple of your pdf patterns. Love your choice of color and the birds with quilt blocks, very creative and attractive designs. My favorite size to work with is about 8 x 8”. That’s a nice size for my hands. I love to do small projects too and make little pillows for an almost instant gratification. Throughout the year I also love to choose one or two large projects and love to see how they evolve throughout the year. Thanks again for sharing your designs. They are fresh, bright and cheerful!
Another graduate from Cross Stitch University! I like the new patterns coming, I have just completed two large (to me) pieces, Gingerbread & Cup of Cheer. I like the medium to small. Thank you Kimberly & team. Happy Stitchin
Thanks for having Robin Pickens on as your guest. Love hearing on how she started quilting and cross stitching. I enjoy stitching on small and medium projects. Happy stitching.
Loved watching Robin Pickens and all her patterns. I love all sizes but enjoy the medium size cross stitch. If I'm making a quilt I would like to have either wall hanging size that are optional into a bed quilt.
Great video Kimberly and Robin. In quilting I am always drawn to complicated patterns, but for cross stitching, the medium charts are my favorite. They are large enough to seem more significant, yet small enough to finish in a reasonable period of time.
I loved watching this flosstube with Robin Pickens. My moda blackheads 5 is going to be all thatched. The color studies are so inspiring. I love small and medium projects.
Loved seeing Robin's stitching patterns. They are beautiful and the color choices are amazing. Personally I prefer small or small-medium patterns as I feel like I get more accomplished with those sizes.
I fell in love with her designs last year when she released her fall cross stitch. The small stitches are great because I can get a quick finish. Thanks FQS
I like working on small to medium sized projects. I really liked your cross stitch mounted with the coordinating fabric as the mat in the frame. Thank you for taking into account practical matters like standard frame sizes. I am excited to see the Dandi Duo cross stitch pattern!
So fun and fresh! I love the idea of combining the Christmas ornaments into one tree, that would be beautiful! Just ordered a couple of her winter charts!
Thank You, Robin and FQS for a fun interview! I really like the "medium" sized projects...( I'm currently working on your "Fall Frolic Sampler) and I love how your patterns can be broken down into smalls. They're like samplers...without the alphabets. I also really like how they coordinate with your fabric lines.
Thank you Kimberly for introducing us to Robin and all of her beautiful designs. I love her finishing technique of using fabric in a frame to accent the stitched piece. I like medium sized projects.
What a wonderful, informative video! Well done! I knew Robin was designing cross stitch, but she has added quite a few designs. My favorite sized cross stitch design is 8x10 or 11x15. ❤
I love to work on no larger than 100 by 100 . Seasonal designs are my favorite. PS. Love how Robin puts the piece on a sticky board and “floats” the piece over fabric in the frame!
I just discovered Robin's designs before Christmas, so this was such a treat to watch today. I recently finished 'Cardinal's Winter' and have another design ready to go. I love the sizes you have so far: they are large enough to really get into the wonderful colours, yet small enough to enjoy a relatively quick finish. Looking forward to all your new designs❤
OMG!!! She’s my new favorite designer! I had already ordered some of her patterns but uh oh!! I just ordered some more! Her personality plus her style is lovely!! I can hardly wait for winterly! I’m cross stitching the trees and want some of the tree fabric to frame it just like Robin’s! I enjoy medium sized projects, but her smalls are soooo cute! I’m excited! The red cranberry fabric is beautiful!
Congratulations Joyce! You are one of the winners from our livestream with Robin Pickens. You will be receiving an assortment of Robin Pickens patterns. Please send your name and address to ashley@fatquartershop.com by February 16th. Thank you!
What beautiful projects. I already have some charts added to cart. I always have numerous projects on the go at a time so love the variety in size, depending on my mood and time allowable. Can't wait for more stitchy goodness!!
Wow! So fun to see a new designer to Cross-stitch! Love her patterns and really love how easy it is to either do them as a larger piece all together or pull out pieces to do smaller finishes with. I enjoy doing smalls but I also enjoy having larger pieces about 8 x 10 or 11 x 14 type sizes. I also stitch on 40 count so a piece that she creates using 14 count will be much smaller for me.
Thank you, Robin! What an inspiration you are! Love the medium sized designs best. That is why I like yours especially the ones that can work as smalls too…nice options!
My favorite sizes to stitch are smalls. I love your samplers though and see how great it is to pick parts of it to make smalls. Love your fabric line too and can’t wait to see the Christmas fabrics when they are available. Beautiful fabrics and cross stitch designs.
Love love love Robin's designs! Her eye fir color is amazing!! My favorite size is medium stitches, say 8 x 10 or 5 x 7 size frameable. Thank you again for a great share!!
So many pretties, Robin! I like projects when both sides are max around 100 stitches, give or take a few. One side could be less, but I prefer that neither side is larger than 100-125 stitches!!
The winners from our livestream with Robin Pickens are Dragonfly Farmhouse, S. Oldfield and Joyce Sidwell.
It was so nice listening to Robin talk about her designs . I love her cross stitch designs and pairing them with the fabric backgrounds is the best. TY. Love small to medium versatile projects. Love matching quilt and cross stitch patterns🥰
What a fun trunk show! I've never seen her patterns before. As for size I enjoy small to medium projects that I can finish rather quickly.
Enjoyed listening to you today. I love a medium size cross stitch project.
Thank you!
I can’t wait to shop for your designs. I like small projects. Thank you for this TH-cam.
I stitch any size piece depending on the design, but I am drawn to larger projects. Thank you for the Trunk Show. I love all your designs!
I like small projects that can be used for ornaments, pin cushions and little pillows, and small framed pics that can be displayed on a tabletop.
FQS team and Robin...delightful podcast ❤❤
My favorite sizes to stitch are smalls. I love your samplers though and see how great it is to pick parts of it to make smalls. Love your fabric line too and can’t wait to see the Christmas fabrics when they are available. Beautiful fabrics and cross stitch designs.
the small ones aren't so overwhelming, but as a new cross stitcher, im itching to try a medium one! Loved all of Robin Pickens' patterns!
Oh my goodness, your designs are brilliant!
I enjoy smalls, maybe a medium once in a while, as quilting is my first love and I spend most of crafting time quilting. Love love your patterns!
