The fact that this was uploaded less than a year ago warms my heart. The game was so fun to play so this makes me happy to see that people are still playing it.
When I was a kid playing this game in the "time trial" mode without any enemy racers I experienced the similar "liminal" feeling some people experienced when playing Minecraft or Gmod alone as kids. The racetracks felt so... empty, and without anything, with all of those seemingly inhabited yet empty city buildings around, these huge frozen aliens, etc.
