How amazing to be on a Norwegian fjords cruise 😊 lovely breakfast to start the day. So beautiful to see the local area. I’m intrigued by those fish and chips now lol. Such lovely buildings! Love that fishing is popular. Such a lovely harbour. Nice you had a knowledgeable driver to share info with you! Stunning views up there, wow! Oh the food yum! The burger looks great!! Awesome video as always! 😊💕
what an awesome day, amazing how many things you got done. especially the side trip you took to the bunkers, darn the weather stopped you from going inside. so interesting to see how the history is preserved. Norway looked great! thanks for sharing ✨
Those bunkers felt like going on a side quest in a video game 😂 Norway is a beautiful country and has a very interesting history much of which I didn’t know about before visiting. Many thanks for watching and commenting ☺️
Ouu...the green footsteps...like the yellow brick road!😂 Sorry the weather seemed a bit damp and chilly. Love the statue tributes!!! Definitely a fishing town!👍 Shame about the big fire in 1904. Wait...there's a hotel room in the lighthouse??? Wow!!! And wait...an undersea tunnel??? Amazing!!! It's Great to hear the History of the war bunkers. Love the views were Wonderful and all the food looked delicious!!! Thanks So Much for the tour and I hope the birthday member had an Awesome Special Day!!! 😁🤙👊
It was such a busy day, there was far more going on here than I expected. I’d have liked to have seen the hotel room in the lighthouse but I would think it’d be a bit claustrophobic. I do like WWII history and especially when I was unaware it was there. Yes, it was a great Birthday celebration 🎉 Many thanks for watching and commenting as always, I really appreciate it.
What a great time. I have to say that I rarely see really bad food from the cruises. I didnt know you guys have some longer cruises in that area. I thought only in the Caribbeans. LIKE 4. 👍👍👍
Cruise food is usually really good and plentiful. This cruise was a week long but there’s many that are for 2 weeks! I need to get back to the Caribbean because this was one chilly and wet trip 😂
Learning about that bunker and the area's WW2 history was fascinating. The views from the Aksla Viewpoint were amazing. Norway looks amazing. I have always wanted to visit Norway ever since riding Maelstrom at Epcot years ago. LOL. Thanks for taking us along on your excursion!
I didn’t know anything about the bunkers or this history so I was pleased to have gone up there. I’m the same, the cruise is the closest I’ll get to riding Maelstrom these days. I miss that ride.
Looks like another great stop! I’m still working on my passport but I swear every time I watch your cruise vlogs, it reminds me to move a little faster. 😂
This port was not on our Itinerary earlier in the year. I will check out your Vlogs as we will definately go back to Norway but want a complete change of Itinerary from our last one. 👍
I’m the same, I’ve been to 6 Norwegian ports so far but I think a smaller ship may be able to get deeper into the fjords. I would highly recommend Alesund, it was a real highlight of the trip.
I would like tp explore this town especially on a warmer day. The town is beautiful. 150 year old light house as a honeymoon suite. I'm a history buff as well. Norway is beautiful. 👍
That the thing with Norway, the weather is very unpredictable even in July when I visited. There’s plenty of history especially WW2 in Norway which kind of gets missed. Many thanks for watching ☺️
Shame the weather wasn't the best for you. The green footsteps is a great tip. Alesund certainly looks prettier, with better views of mountains than Stavanger and Haugesund. If we do the Norweigian Fjords again, I will try and get one with Alesund on the itinerary. The scenic views you get was stunning.
The weather seemed typically Norwegian for this whole trip! I think that Ålesund is an underrated place as there was plenty to see and yes, the views were spectacular. Many thanks for watching and commenting ☺️
Another great video! First and most important it is never to early for fish and chips and you should have had some Reindeer it's really nice! How long do you normally get on shore do you feel rushed to get to see everything you want to see?
Ha ha, I was very tempted by the fish n chips. Have you tried reindeer meat then? I suppose it would be like venison? I’ve not really felt rushed except the day before when I only had four hours at the port. I always plan out my days to prioritise what I want to do. Many thanks for watching as always ☺️
Yes it does taste like venison. Glad you have time to do what you want when you are on land I enjoyed the look around the bunker you should do a battlefield tour.

Norwegian Fjords would be a dream cruise for me! Thanks for the video, love seeing the port stops, absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you so much, I had wanted to visit the Fjords for ages and it didn’t disappoint. Ålesund was so picturesque ☺️
Looks like a wonderful day and a great cruise. Thank you for takingn us along! 👍👍

Ha ha, it’s a huge world and our time here is limited. I hope you get your passport sorted out soon. Many thanks for watching ☺️
Doing this cruise in June can’t wait
Fingers crossed that you have some good weather! It’s a great cruise otherwise.

@@ALifeintheParks we were so lucky with the weather last month and we really appreciated the good weather as know it is not common.
@earsandideas7266 I’m really pleased to hear that ☺️
Those menus looked a bit, well, dirty to be honest. Not sure the lighthouse hotel room would appeal to me 😅. Happy 40th 🎉 😂
The menus did seem well used! The lighthouse hotel would have been too claustrophobic for me.
Many thanks, oh wait 🤔

@@jasoncursley4686 I’ll definitely buy some when I see it next. I’m looking to do a Battlefield tour next summer if I can. Any recommendations?
@@ALifeintheParks I have done the D Day landings tour highly recommended very moving.
@@jasoncursley4686 I’d like to visit Gold and Sword beaches where the British troops landed.

I probably do have some more retro footage from that era kicking around somewhere. I’ll take a look.
Why did you go in that time of year .
It was just the time that was convenient for myself and my family as it was a special Birthday while onboard.
