I’ll never forget when I was depressed I had a few neighbours who without being disrespectful always look very rough and never really takes care of their appearance start saying hello to me. I’m assuming at the time I didn’t notice but this was probably the same for my appearance. Since I turned my life around they don’t even look in my direction. The problem with this sort of talk about how like attracts like isn’t that it’s false, it in fact is true, but not in the sense that she’s using it. Like attracts like in relationships among people. Not in the black and white, boring nature of science, but in relationships among people. Irritable people attract irritable people. Sarcastic people are drawn to sarcastic people.
