Very interesting that there are filters that go inside the mask. As you mention not too handy to change the elements when in contaminated air. It seems like this would be something soldiers or police would have with them ready to go in case of civil disobedience but to rely on one for combat does not seem very practical. Cool video brother!
Yeah if this was your issue you'd definitely set it up before you needed it it took me 15 minutes and some copious swearing all in all but turned out nicely Kirk Hope you have a great weekend buddy all the best Roo
Good video I personally have the one with the drinking tube and I can still confirm that it is still a pain in the ass to put the filters in I also got luck and the person I bought them from was selling them with 4 of the CBRN filters so it was quite a good deal all and all also mine is newer compared to your I think mine was produced in 1989. Cheers!
Took me fifteen minutes and some colourful language to complete Cheryl definitely one you want prepared earlier! Thanks for taking the time to comment hope you have a greta day All the best Roo
Thanks for this information! Just ordered one, might get two more of a different type for the family. Definitely for emergencies but I could see myself using it for handling chemicals like pesticides and fertilizers more frequently. I think the difficulty of changing filters isn't a total dealbreaker, just means that one would need to be getting away from the problem instead of staying in it. Most likely I would want to get away from the problem anyway, and would DEFINITELY be taking the wife and kid(s) to safety.
There are several designs similar to this which basically copied the US M17A1 I think external filter masks are better not just for ease of replacing but also availability of new filters But one of these and a chemical hood looks pretty cool 😉 Thanks for watching and commenting buddy have a great weekend All the best Roo
I think filters are Way easy to change, maybe hard for Non-mechanically inclined people, I had zero issues.....I even swapped M17 filters in the M10, of course you need M17 filter Caps too.
I was told that you can get adapters that screw to the outside which allow you to fit external 40mm filters but I haven't got them yet and I'm still looking for a hood for it Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment hope you have a great weekend All the best Roo

Not bad but this is one you want to assemble before trouble starts.. Playing "How long can Roo hold his breathe while he puts this together" might not be so much fun. Thank you for the video, Roo
Is it safe to wear the gas mask due to the filters? I wanna buy one but I'm scared of the filters, since I'd love to wear the gas mask alot but the acrivated charcoal in the filters is what's keeping me from getting it so I am really unsure, is it safe to wear for cosplay use?

The whole point of wearing a mask is to filter the outgoing air to protect others from potentiality being contaminated by you. A gas mask only filters the air you breath in, not out, so you can still contaminate others while wearing one. Just wear a regular cloth mask and save your gas mask fot what it was designed for.
@@thugs4hugsd979 I already took the test and I thought about what you mentioned before I wore it and wore a cloth mask over the part where the air comes out. The instructor loved it.
@@PreparedCamping they still let me wear it since there isn't a law restricting you from wearing masks while driving but I agree that it wasnt my smartest option. It didnt really affect my hearing other than hearing myself and my vision wasnt too bad. I couldn't see out my peripheral's as much but i could still see the mirrors and check my blind spots pretty well. The people in my group and the instructor got a laugh out of it.

Installation of the filters in the PBF wasn't a pain at all. The latex is really flexible but the m10 is a different story

I got one a couple days ago. I take my driving course in a couple days and we have to wear a mask because of the virus so im gonna wear a gas mask.

Hope you passed your test the impairment to hearing and vision from a gas mask whilst amusing probably wouldn't have been a good idea 😉
