Glad you made it home safe Daniel. Odds weren't in anyone's favor, don't care where you were you were a target. Thanks for sharing your experience. My step father Sam R.I.P., trained dogs in the nam and he was always quick to say he was generally safe but when you say generally... you mean the odds were less likely you would not face combat, didn't mean he didn't, artillery was always a threat to everyone. Even the medical staff. If your time was up, it was just up he watched another trainer and 5 dogs get blown across the base by an artillery's shell. Not like the infantry guys but you woke up every day listening to artillery and the threat was constant. Sam died of renal failure. His liver was a casualty of that fucked up war! He was only 58 when he passed. I had to carry him to the car on numerous occasions when he needed to go to the hospital with jaundice and convulsions. Thank God for the DAV. Those guys are great! They always helped whenever we needed them. I take money to them directly and drop it off to them. They ALWAYS help their brothers with it. Wounded warriors and others keep a portion of the proceeds. I don't need a t shirt saying I helped. Use that money for the boys for Christ sake!!! Peace brother! We love all you guys and we can't stand the way you boys were treated when you came home! That... was deplorable. Much love and thank you again Daniel. 8^)

Welcome home and thank you for your service Sir. The younger generations from Iraq, Mogadishu, Afghanistan and all conflicts in between respect the hell outta Nam veterans. You don't realize how many of y'all have helped them readjust to getting back to the world life and helping with the red tape at the VA and well, just talking. Once again thank you and God bless. 🇺🇲
