    We have a guy in the UK who will come to your house open up your rear mufflers strip them out and weld them back up, sound nice and keeps the car looking stock

    Daaang! That’s badass!
    I wish I had the tools to do this for both of my V10s, but I don’t.

    I have a 5.5l v8 Benz NA AND I ran you carven tr’s as end mufflers. The drone is pretty crazy at 2500rpm under load. Also other rpm’s but that’s the sweet spot. Do you think quarter wave resonators would fix my issue. I set off a car alarm the other day and I wasn’t even in a garage.

    • @Pancho4dummies

      V8 engines drone at around 2200-2700 rpms, the quarter wave will absolutely remove the drone...I did this on a 5.3L v8 Tahoe and it worked beautifully.

      @@Pancho4dummies thanks. Will it reduce overall volume at all? I wanted to lower the volume a bit and was thinking of running vibrants in the mid but will those do anything about drone?

      @adama7031 that'd a good question. Do quarter wave resonators lower overall volume

    Curious. I think you said the primary cats were gutted when you bought the car? How about the check engine light? What was done to stop that from going crazy? I have an '06, secondary cats are gone, resonator is gone, boat anchors the call mufflers, gone.Still have the primary cats "H pipe" and small Magnaflows at the back..and a Dinan stage 1 tune, AFE cold air intake....but I am curious about what needs to be done after gutting the primary cats

    • @Pancho4dummies
      @Pancho4dummies  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have an Evolve Automotive tune which removes the check engine light (CEL) for engine platforms without primary cats. There are a variety of aftermarket tunes available that will prevent the engine computer from throwing a CEL when the primary cats are removed, or racing exhaust headers are installed. These tunes are primarily for people who want to track their cars or live in regions where there are no government required emissions testing. In your case you have a "OEM+" tune...Dinan's tune will not void your warranty or cause your M5 to fail emissions tests. Having said that, I'm not sure if Dinan also offers a catless version of their tunes.

    I have a 2014 Audi A6 3.0T Prestige AWD QUATTRO and I did a muffler delete and kept the cats and resonators but its still loud as soon as I hit 32 mph or 40mph it's super loud with vibration inside the car so I went back and they added some little tubes that almost look exactly like what your talking about and it calm tge drone down a little bit but still I can hear the droning when I'm at 50mph to 80 mph on the freeway and feel vibration inside I want all of the aggressiveness but not inside what should I do???

    • @Pancho4dummies
      @Pancho4dummies  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For a 3.0 - 6 cylinder the resonance is highest at highway speeds (~30-60mph) as opposed to the S85 v10 which is at around (~0-30mph). Your options are to buy an expensive no drone exhaust OR add "quarter wave resonators", this second option requires more research/work but is cheaper and it works.

      thanx for the info I really appreciate it alot I'm going back to see what could be done they install what I can explain is on each pipe right before the tips is a little I wanna say a can like tube on each side

    why not just plugging the inner pipes at the right length to act as resonators,?

    Hi sir.. want to ask something.. if i delete my m5 muffler or do exactly like yours, is it the fault code or any light will appear? Worried if the muffler have a sensor.

    • @Pancho4dummies
      @Pancho4dummies  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      hi...no need to worry. No fault codes will be generated by exhaust mods performed after the primary cats.

    Hi Frank! Really glad I stumbled across your channel before removing my mufflers like many people suggest. Your goal is the same as mine. Do you still have the stock resonator in place?

    • @Pancho4dummies

      Thats correct, I haven't touched the stock resonators

      @@Pancho4dummies OK thanx! The favorite part of the V10 exhaust not is the "F1" higher pitched part. When you say its louder, is the extra volume primarily a lowdown rumble component? Or an overall increase in stock type sound? I realize 2 paths are straight to atmosphere now, maybe the mix of tones is just perfect ;)

    • @Pancho4dummies
      @Pancho4dummies  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The tip alignment and color mismatch just shows that this was a project in process and not the finished product. I agree the tips needed a bit more fine tuning on the alingment and paint matching but I was still in process of modding the exhaust during the recording.

    • @Pancho4dummies

      I've used the vibrant resonators on other applications and I like them but they would have been too loud for the level of dampening I was aiming for.
