Only if Ademola & Niniola didnt take an oath,these wont have happened,but Niniola's mother had her reasons,Ademola didnt know he would become the king,if he knew he wont have taken the oath,because it is very rare for a king to have one queen,most times they always have alot of queen's as for Adeyinka & Lydia am glad Lydia allowed her husband to go ahead.

One of the most important qualities of a leader is stoicism. You can not be a king or lead a great institution and allow emotions to rule your decisions. That's where Ademola failed; he thought his strength was in his love for Niniola, but it is better to be feared than loved if you cannot be both. The Priestess wasn't even asking him to leave his wife, it's just to marry another one. If there was actual true love, then the first solution would have been to go destroy the oath in agreement with Nini. It's also a big decision to leave the throne like that, he shouldn't have decided alone.
There would be women who'd love you without a solid reason as there are always exceptions to every rule, but their needs do not allow them to love downward for so long. And you don't want to find out. How do you think your wife would react when you go from being a king to a sick common man for many years? Pain 😄
The same weakness would have applied to Adeyinka. He'd have dropped the throne for his woman if not that he was scared of the consequences. Why are they talking about jail? Divorce solves this problem. It's all nice and good what Lydia had done for her husband, but so long there's option to remain a wife, it's fine.
There's more selfishness in being against marrying another wife (for the greater good of the community) for just oneself (wife). Where's the selflessness in love if it's more about you?
