    📖 Overview
The Boulevard de Sébastopol in Paris is an essential roadway that spans 1.3 kilometers. It serves as a boundary between the 1st and 2nd arrondissements and the 3rd and 4th arrondissements. Starting from Place du Châtelet, it extends to Boulevard Saint-Denis, where it becomes the Boulevard de Strasbourg. This main thoroughfare features four vehicular lanes, one of which is reserved for buses. While it hosts some shops and restaurants, its primary significance lies in its role as a north - south route through central Paris, separating Le Marais from Les Halles. The boulevard was initially named Boulevard du Centre when Baron Haussmann opened it in 1854. However, after Napoléon III’s victory at the port of Sevastopol during the Crimean War, it was renamed Boulevard de Sébastopol. Located near Métro stations Châtelet, Strasbourg - Saint-Denis, and Réaumur Sébastopol, this historic boulevard remains a vital part of the city’s urban fabric.
