My Nan was from Cwm, Eunice Vernon, I visited the village in 1977 with her and met an aunty Lil, and a cousin Idris ( who loved his beer ), sad to see the place so run down.

don't be sorry you good little child . I was born at 13 ELM street near the wall, that is where my mam passed away when I was nine years old . I still remember every thing about little cwm going up the mountain playing in the ferns that used to be taller than me collecting birds eggs ,going to the parky pond and trying to catch trout , but never did . my uncle will lived at 54canning street and he worked in the coal mine MARINE COLLIERY at the bottom of marine street opposite my school DYFFRYN . It is no longer their I found out when I came back to CWM to visit my mams grave in CWM cemetery six years ago . she is there with my uncle will grandma and grand dad ! shed lots of tears but was happy that I could be their . went back to elm street to see if I could have a look inside my old house but the lady living there now was not home sadly !! thank you so much for responding to my post ,I find it very important and would love to keep in touch with you if you would like to .living in AUSTRALIA now no snow and warm all the time !!! if you would like my email is rcompton3@bigpond.com !!!

roy compton hiya my father in law lived in cwm sadly as passed away now. Would love to see photos of him down the pit. Nice to hear these stories of the cwm

I used to own 12 Elm street. Lived in Falcon terrace. Gave up everything and moved to Germany.
