    Pretty well executed, no doubt, but at same time no more than just "interesting song", because it seems to wander aimlessly.

      It's made for the beginning of the mass, imagine a big cathedral, a priest entering the place with so many people accompanying him; that's the pompous chords part. As they arrive at the altar they begin to position themselves in their places, then comes the more melodic one. I think it suits it's purpose. And if we enter further, modality is one of the characteristics of the gregorian chant, and what it does is breaking a little the resolution feeling, and the perfect cadences, for the service is for eternity and this or that piece is inserted in this continuum.
