Regardless, the one problem with Pepe rarely talked about was his shtick was the same thing over and over and it gets boring after the first dozen times (animation takes time and money so why make the same thing over and over). Even Elmer and Sam had variety with TNT war with ants and trying to mary into money but suffering the foster son. They even range from Vikings to Pirates to Gangsters to ETC. Even Fifi LaFume showed more variety than Pepe. Tweety is Worst OG and Buddy is the Worst Overall.
I honestly don’t understand why Pepe is seen as a “problematic character.” I always viewed him as a character we laugh at rather than laugh with. We are laughing at him because he is a such perv and loser rather than us being on his side. It’s very clearly making fun of people who sexually harass women rather than laughing at someone who is being sexually harassed. And if we are going to cancel Pepe by Animat’s standards, then I guess Eric Cartman should be cancelled too. Good luck trying that! 🤦♂️
Looney Tunes was actually made for adults since they were made to be played in theaters before movies and there would normally be some humor adults would get that kids wouldn’t understand until they’re older.
He only had one cartoon during the original run of shorts so he wouldn’t qualify for the list going by the established rules This reads like something someone would type to try to make themselves look smarter than they are but nope, that pretentious looking text came naturally to me How fucked up is that?
I unsubbed from Matt a long time ago. In his Little Mermaid remake review he blindly bashes conservatives for their disapproval of the race swap calling them racists when the reason they don’t like it isn’t a racial thing. In a short he did, he made the argument that Bugs was gender fluid. I loved his Animation Lookback videos but ever since those two moments, I’ve never looked at him the same way again.
I didn't see his Little Mermaid video and honestly don't care. In regards to the latter that wasn't something he came up with it was specifically from one of Bug's creators Chuck Jones how Bugs Bunny is both trans and gender fluid.
@@jamesmoyner7499 People bring up that Jones said that Bugs was gender fluid without actually providing a source. Can you seriously say with a straight face that back in the 40s Jones and the other directors were thinking like that. I’m not hating on you in any way I just genuinely don’t understand how people think Bugs is gender fluid.
@@jamesmoyner7499 the way audiences saw it at the time and the way it was written was a joke on how dumb Bugs foes are. Also I can apply the argument to a film like Mrs Doubtfire. The whole plot of Williams cross dressing was played for laughs.
While I am glad that you enjoyed my request, there is I feel a right and wrong way to play with sterotypes. Those that are just base level caricatures of people because their race that's not funny. The reason I never had a problem with Speedy for example is they aren't playing into sterotypes because he is Mexican and instead just going by how fast he is. This is just me speaking as a 29 year old white guy.
Actually, even if Disney sued Harman and Ising over Foxy, he'd technically be different enough to qualify as an original character. And even then Disney would be in the problem area as his first cartoon character, Julius, was a blatant clone of Felix The Cat.
i have a friend who lives in mexico and she said that the only people that were “offended” by speedy gonzales were white people lol, apparently mexico loves the character
funny how animat complains about cartoon black people gambling and native americans yodeling yet homosexual characters in cartoons don't bother him. Also, he complains about racism yet he called Buddy " a bland white guy"

and his love of Latin is an utter lie [as in he only likes it when is COCO or Encanto] because he bashed an actual Mexican movie KOATI [made by Latinos in Latin America] because white Latin celebrities want money (which is colorist towards Latin) especially the producer News flash Animatt, Sofia Vergara is not a gold digging Latina Caliente. She made KOATI to express her love of animals that she grew up with and fund WWF.
Pepe didn't deserve the backlash he got. "Sexual harassment". Also Elmer had his gun removed and Animat agreed with it 🤦♂️
Animat also defended Cuties, too.
That’s unfortunately the woke culture we live in

Exactly. Similar to The Muppets, they were made for adult audiences in mind, but just happened to appeal to kids as well!
Billy Bob Tanley reacting to Canadian Linkara? Shit, today’s my lucky day! 😂

Disney’s first cartoon character was Oswald the Lucky Rabbit which Walt soon lost the rights to a few years later to Charles Mintz.

my favorite looney tunes characters are bugs bunny and lola bunny, who are yours?
27:46 No Sylvester the Cat's a Bad Guy
27:49 I Don't Think Tweety Bird Isn't a Bad Guy
I disagree with these choices except buddy and the post 1964 characters ( honorable mention included).
Well what’s your list.
