If you're unlucky enough to have a OEM radio that had the both CD/cassette combined in the main unit this is still somewhat possible. Most vehicles had kits that you could tap into the external CD changer if it supported it, however finding them for each specific vehicle is becoming harder and harder as the years go by
Great vid. My only suggestion would have been to fit the switch inside the cassette player so you can just lift the flap and hit it. But fantastic job overall
Do you have any specific ideas how to add Bluetooth to a 2001 Land Rover Discovery 2? Cassette player is in the radio box, CD changer is on a separate wire harness. There is no auxiliary input.
So I put in an aftermarket radio in my name Miata. It has RCA connections for aux. Is the a way I can hook up the RCA connectors and hook the Bluetooth module to the aux? That way I wouldn't have to open the radio and solder anything on it. Is that possible?
Hi. I know its an old video and you might not using this anymore, but is this particular one have that annoying woman saying “bluetooth mode” and “connected a succesfully” lines? Or just connects without a sound?
Follow this exactly, but I can’t get the Bluetooth to turn on? My radio doesn’t say “line” and when I press the aux button (I have a 97), it doesn’t do anything. Thoughts?
any suggestions on integrating this into a Nissan Bose unit? i dont have the seperate wire, it is all contained inside the doube din unit. i have taken it apart and saw the board labeled L+ L-, R+ R- for the CD function. not sure how to integrate a switch in order to make the unit think there is a CD playing. Maybe i will burn a CD of silence and run it on repeat. thanks.
i want to do this and my car has bluetooth so people other then me can play music if they want and i dont have to go through a 10min setup thing while the car is parked because "safty" because never in the history of cars has a passenger ever used the radio..
@@luzalez9095 wired up a bluetooth amp you can find amps for your car that have a bluetooth receiver build into it just wire up yours speakers to the amp and pair it to your phone
Quick question I have a smart fortwo passion cdi from 2009 and it was this piece attached with a little phone thing that was bluetooth and show up on the phone as brunswick carkit does anyone know how it work I bought the car with it already there..
The module gets power from the head unit harness. The wires that we ran out were for the switch which tells the head unit to swap from radio to external output.
Everything will function as normal depending how he rigged up the switch it might need to be on to play a cassette basically all he did was tap into the wire that senses a tape trying to be played soo it switches to "line" on the stereo
arottmann5588 no he never reply back so i just added a cd player with Bluetooth an wire up to stil have my oem amp an sub to work with my after market radio
Hello I bought one of these, I connected the red and black wires to the cigar lighter, and the plug that goes behind the radio. but sounds like static, what could It be?
You mean an auxiliary cassette tape adapter that lets you plug anything with the 3.5mm jack, including BT. Then there's gonna be a cable coming out of the tape deck. Now a days, you can buy an aftermarket Bluetooth radio for the same price as the tape adapter, $20 at Fry's electronics, but that's not the point, most of us are DIYers

They make a Bluetooth that plugs in the cigarette lighter or auxiliary power and transmits to the radio pretty much plug and play

$ 50 and you've got a new Sony with BT and phone support.
My thoughts exactly. Also, that blue tooth switch doesn't look very reliable. Looks like cheap plastic that will break after X number of uses.
Unsolder the wire and add the heatshrink. My OCD would keep me up at night if I did that!! lol

"Glittery aftermarket radio!" Exactly... Yuk
What if I only got 4 wires for the speaker , and one power and one ground wire ?
Hi. I know its an old video and you might not using this anymore, but is this particular one have that annoying woman saying “bluetooth mode” and “connected a succesfully” lines? Or just connects without a sound?
Does the device works great ? If not, do you have another one that's better today ?
Can you do this for a CD player instead of the cassette player

I think I just have to connect the rca like my car comes with those for the aux
Are you still able to use the cassette play like normal?

You think i can do something like this but have no radio at all in my car
This is where I'm at, did you ever figure out how to do that?

I want to try I hate not having Bluetooth in my MX5
Song? 2:08
He taped the third signal lead because he forgot to put the heatshrink on.
Was there a reason you didn’t just take power from the harness? Why did you have to go find a different power wire?
The module gets power from the head unit harness. The wires that we ran out were for the switch which tells the head unit to swap from radio to external output.
So now you don't have cassette or cd capabilities, correct?
I would think so.
Everything will function as normal depending how he rigged up the switch it might need to be on to play a cassette basically all he did was tap into the wire that senses a tape trying to be played soo it switches to "line" on the stereo
Why dont you go off of switched power?
It is on switched power. The switch is used to swap between the inputs going into the head unit.
Good job 🖒
Lol, honestly should just put a bluetooth headunit in.
If you prefer the aesthetics of a stock head unit this is a good option.
How do i find signal wires? I have a 06 acura tl it has the cd an cassette player
did you ever get an answer? i have an 04 TL

You could try twisting the signal wires, its a simple way to eliminate EMI. Also you may want to find a new ground, that often time helps as well.
Whiplash!
Would you be willing to do this for my car I have a o6 cadillac sts w/o navigation
Miata is not a sport car
Why make it so complicated?! Just get a Bluetooth cassette adapter!! 🤦♂️🤷♂️

AM/FM bluetooth transmitter found at most dollar store @ $10
You're welcome
Video was completely useless. Couldn't pay attention to anything you said besides your pronunciation of the world "solder"
