Well, I do not understand this stupid phrase - "I'm late for work"! Everyone needs to go to work. If you don't want to be late due to rush hour, leave an hour early! Well, in the US you would rightfully be deemed a psychopath for driving on the sidewalk in the first place, and then a danger to society once you started driving through people on the sidewalk. You would probably get charged with aggravated assault or something along those lines which would be a felony and 3-5 years in prison in many states.
@Ron F That statistic doesn't surprise me at all, they'll find any reason to lock people up thanks to the prison industrial complex. The private prison industry will lobby to keep mandatory minimum sentences high specifically to keep in jail longer so they can keep receiving money from the government. But anybody who drives on the sidewalk and through pedestrians is definitely one of the ones that deserves to be in prison for a while, especially if they have a massive sense of entitlement to it like the asshole they caught in this video.

As a person on a sidewalk, you could do some arm strengthening exercises with a 10-pound sledgehammer. You swing the hammer back then forward until you have the head in line with your shoulder height, then using only your forearm raise the head until it stands perpendicularly to your arm. Hold the position for as long as you can then repeat. If someone bumps you with their car, there's a high probability of the hammer landing on the vehicle due to the law of physics. Strictly the fault of the driver.
