I own a food truck and have been in the restaurant / food service industry for about 15 years before that. I have to say your honesty and attitude refreshing. You're enthusiastic but not obnoxious, critical but not pretentious, and you seem to have a genuine love for food. Separating overrated and overpriced is also a great way to break things down. Hopefully this channel takes off as your approach to restaurants is what's needed. Also appreciate the courtesy to the staff.

I like your reviews, but the music in these videos is unbelievably grating. I was interested in the content but I couldn't get thru it. Less is more, imo
I haven't been to a Gordon Ramsay restaurant but we did get one of his cookbooks recently and I have to say that we're both very impressed by a lot of his recipes. They're delicious and fairly easy to make. If you don't have a Gordon Ramsay restaurant near you but are curious about his food, getting one of his cookbooks is an easy way to experience what his cooking is about. You can find an inexpensive one in a used bookstore.
Thank you! Yes you're right, I have tried turning down my music in later videos (this vid is from 5 months ago and I've made tweaks in response to feedback since then). Let me know if it's better in those!
After seeing your review on Peter Lugars, I know this thing is the real deal. I really appreciate your candid and truthful opinions, especially when it comes to tackling 'unassailable' institutions. You're willing to go against the tide if that's the truth of it. I'd love to hear your review of the rib eye at Delmonico's in New York City, which is supposed to be the best steak in the USA. Meanwhile, keep up the good work!
Thanks for the video. I’ve never been convinced before to go to one of Ramsays restaurants. I am now. Plus, those prices aren’t exaggerated at all. It’s Ramsay in AC.
I went there about 2 years ago, we liked it, and were amazed of how fast everything came out. Seriously, from the time we sat down, we had apps, entrée's, and dessert's all in 30 minutes. My in-law's live up in NJ, so I'm there often, we never felt like going but then we did, and glad we did. Looking forward to trying the new place there next time I'm up.

Just came back from Vegas. The food prices are at least 30% higher in the mega resorts than in other places. A Starbucks sausage breakfast sandwich was $8.75 at the mirage casino and 4.75 at the airport.
Not sure why people still even question whether GR is just a TV chef when it’s well documented that he paid his dues with hundreds of hours of hard work in kitchens in England and France long before he was filmed in that program ‘madness of perfection’ about getting his Michelin stars.
Well, in the intro to several of his shows he destroys two knives by rubbing them together at a 45 degree angle. That yields a blade geometry of 90 degrees. Which is a good angle for an axe, but slightly less than 3 times duller than a standard kitchen knife, and around 5 times duller than some high end knives. If you can't trust a cook around your knives, you can't trust that cook.
Around here (East Peoria Illinois) you can get fish and chips for about $10.00. I can also get a whole 1 lb. catfish dinner, with 3 sides and a hot roll for $12.50 at a place about 1/2 a block from me called the Fillin Station. The bluegill fillet dinner, with 3 sides and a hot roll is $10.50. They sell them every Friday, and the fish is fresh from a fish market called Dixons, so it is never frozen. Dont care for the old timey piano music while you were eating, it seemed out of place for a food video.
Actually, in 1995 Marco Pierre White became the youngest to get 3 Michelin stars at 33 years old. He’s now been surpassed by Massimilano Alajmo who was awarded his at 28 in 2002. Ramsay was 34 when awarded his 3 stars in 2001.

04:50 " French fries are hard to screw up, right?" Oh sweet summer child... In my opnion fish and chips should never be ordered in a place like that. For the best kind, you need a specialty shop with a big turnover that keeps constantly frying new batches. Also, it should cost a 3rd of what that place is charging.
As a dedicated fan of your reviews, I have watched dozens and dozens of them with great interest. I really appreciate your straightforward, honest opinions, whether positive or negative. Overall, you are one of my very favorite food reviewers. I enjoy the familiarity and the sense that you're inviting your viewers to share your world in a very real and intimate way. However... I have only one issue with your reviews, and that is the music. The same 2-3 pieces repeating on endless loop is monotonous and distracting. I am deathly tired of hearing the same old tracks over and over. This is coming from a viewer who is an avid video gamer, so I am accustomed to background loops, and can usually tune them out if necessary, or tune into them if they support the action on screen. I can't do that with your background music for some reason. I think that it has something to do with the jarring contrast between the music and the subject matter, and the insufferable "perkiness" of the pieces you have chosen. I hear the ragtime piece in my dreams... brrrr..... One might think that is good for subliminal branding, recognition, and retention, but I assure you it is not a good thing. On top of this, the music is often way to prominent in the mix, sometimes to the point of interfering with your commentary. You may feel that your music selections are part of your brand, but I implore you to reconsider. I would far rather hear the natural ambient sound of the restaurants you review, or simply silence behind your commentary. I'm convinced all of GR's US outposts are just money machines for people that think they're getting good food, and he laughs all the way to the bank. His eating establishments in England are top notch, but the ones in the US just go off his name.. especially the ones in LV.
7:28 "The fish and chips was good, I just didn't think it was superb". After saying at 4:34 "this is a really good fish and chips, maybe a top 5 I've ever had" I hear you say incongruent things later in reviews that contradict earlier statements often.
Let me tell you, I took my family to London (7 people) three years ago and we stayed at the Savoy Hotel. The hotel was great, I took my family to dinner at the Savoy Grill, a century-plus-old restaurant now controlled by Ramsey. The food was mediocre at best and very overpriced. The service was poor and the waiter had a french accent so my wife who was born in France spoke in French to him asking questions and he did not speak french. just a really bad experience. Do not waste your money.
Cottage Pie is made with Beef, Shepard’s pie is made with Lamb. Unfortunately, many restaurants in the US serve beef and call it Shepard’s pie. As an aside, your music is a little too loud and it is pretty darn annoying. Thanks for your review.

No, it's more than that. Gordon doesn't necessarily have to be there. His role is to come up with the menu and the recipes and to oversee the restaurant with the help of a trusted lieutenant chef who has direct oversight of the restaurant's daily operations. Nothing wrong with that. Lots of master chefs do that, and it's not a problem unless the master chef becomes so disconnected from the restaurant that the quality goes down.
Do you think it is because of the waiter has spotted UAeat before he came in and then provided a special dishes for him or it is just as gorgeous as any other

I will try the shepherds pie next time, if that’s not great, I’m done with Ramsey’s pub.
I'm going to comment while only 3 minutes and 48 seconds into the video; based on what I've seen so far, it appears to me this restaurant is doing everything Gordon lectures the shit out of everyone else about. 1: The beef wellington resembles a dead ghost laying on a plate with a huge chunky shit streak running down its chest and two monks glaring down at it. 2: 5 fries (FIVE FRIES) served with a $35 plate of batter-fried fish. Stingy. I have no comment on the shepherd's pie. 3: A LONG menu.
Excess and overkill..l think that line was swiped from the video of Anthony Bourdain eating for the first time at Gordon's signature restaurant over a decade ago lol..great videos and review either way so no points taken off 😉

Beef prices in USA have increased dramatically $20.00 is in line with what most sit down restaurants now charge for a good burger vs a pink slime fast food burger..

I'm ok with the prices if the workers are paid above average (I highly doubt it)
Is the music yours? did you put it in the video? Dont need it at all.
I'm confused, first you said the fish and chips is in your top five ever, then you said it wasn't spectacular?
I'm not gonna watch this but I can tell you know,,,yes Gordon is highly overrated...he just got lucky
Excess and overkill..l think that line was swiped from the video of Anthony Bourdain eating for the first time at Gordon's signature restaurant over a decade ago lol..great videos and review either way so no points taken off 😉
Man how do you eat that much and stay skinny!!! And 60$ for Wellington? That's not bad I guess for LA right?. I paid 80GBP in the UK because you had to get the portion which was for 2 people.
$60 was expensive but it was very tasty. And my weight definitely fluctuates haha it definitely takes some effort to swing it back down
Did stevie wonder plate the beef welly 👀

Welcome! Thanks for the support!
Bruh im from Pakistan and somehow this still felt intriguing also try to reduce the use of background music it got hella annoying a couple minutes in💀
Is British food popular in Paiksitan? And ah I appreciate the feedback! Was the music too loud? Or just annoying?
@@uaeats it’s avalible here but I wouldn’t say popular, Pakistani’s usually enjoy their own food more then outside styles and about the music it was just playing when it didnt need to like when you were talking it just made it hard to hear your voice clearly
I agree that the music was loud and annoying. Also, your Adidas baseball cap is backwards due to your phone camera. Would be better to have a plain cap without any writing on it. Great video, keep up the great work. You come across as very likable.
You have to try the fries at bonchon chicken if you like five guys fries.... it'll top 5 guys any day!!!
LOVE! The 2pac T-shirt!
Bro music's killing me. Had to mute and put on CC. Glad you did this one though.
I absolutely love gordan Ramsey.
The standards for service is normally good ,shepherds pie is meant to be lamb ,cottage pie is beef .
Yum id go the fish .🇦🇺👍💖
At least irs not pretentious food and prices like salt bae
Hope you get over your COVID-19
Your video made me wanna go try all of that food lol 😋
Shepherds pie contains lamb hence shepherds pie cottage pie contains beef
He missed it, I asked my server; "gun.to your head what do you eat off this menu?" He pointed to.tje short ribs. Some of the best Dene meat I've ever eaten. Just my 2 cents
You now Uncle Roger took down Gordon Ramsay but at the end they became friends.
Saludos de México carnal
Your reviews are routinely excellent, however, regardless of which country you find yourself, a Shepard's Pie is always made with lamb and not beef. Hence the name of the dish....
You are right. What I mean is in the US places will often cheat and use ground beef, then still call it Shepherd's pie. It's misleading for sure!
@@uaeats Ah! Wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the info. Keep up your great work and reviews....
Ate there many times. Not always good. But sometimes is pretty good
Beef prices in USA have increased dramatically $20.00 is in line with what most sit down restaurants now charge for a good burger vs a pink slime fast food burger..
Tartar sauce is actually really good on a burger
So, Wellington and MEHHH MEHHHH PIE!!
Haha South Park reference?
35 bucks for 2 pieces of fish? nuts
Other guests must think he has Tourette’s when they see him eat.
