    Another great video Graeme, with loads of useful info. Especially love the towel round the head idea! Another great video Graeme, love your sense of humour. Your trying so hard for a conger, and ended up with three dogfish. They saved a blank and they have such pretty eyes. My compliments on your night shots and camera set up, it was all crystal clear. Now looking forward to part 2 a real treat probably saved for Saturday evening viewing when the craps on the telly.

    Hi there Graeme. I'll tell you what I like about those masks. Last spring I was doing a bit of early morning fly fishing for rudd on a nearby 'fishing prohibited' lake and doing well by chucking small handfuls of maggots for groundbait and using similar looking flies to catch them. After I'd snagged my last fly on the tree behind, I snipped off half an inch of the mask elastic, singed both ends with my lighter to look like the head and butt of a maggot, superglued it to a size 8 hook, and landed an eleven pound carp on it. And on a 3lb tippet too. It was a great, though delicate at times, fight, and one of my fishing highlights. Many thanks. Raymondo

      @@ezedjay sorry? Was this fulfilling for you to make such a comment? Was there any need. I have to say, and I’m sure others may or may not agree but I find a large section of anglers especially on line to be some of the most toxic people about. Live and let live dude. Nice one Graeme,you certainly get ten out of ten for perseverance, have fished the Bristol Channel since the seventies fishing off the old Ilfracombe pier before they had to rebuild it after a the bad storm, back then you could fish the tides right through. Sadly now the tide covers the mark now during high tide. Used to be good for Tope Bass Ray and Cod back in the day. Keep up the excellent work. All the best Bill

    Graham those rays they don't return hardly at all. I don't know what it is about them but that one would have been caught then returned and it would have died. In a boat there ok to return NH but probably one out of every three you put back off the beach dies don't know what it is you have to really get them out into deep water for them to survive so when they're being returned from the beach you really got to Wade out or throw them out hard. This venue your fishing now is my favourite place you go I really want to go there soon as this pandemics over.

    Hey Graham, I hope this comment isn't too late and you are still reading comments from this video! For a bit of a role reversal I'd like to give you a tip... if you put a small amount of washing up liquid on the inside of your glasses lens, then you will stop them from steaming up. Lasts about 2 days and needs reapplying, but it truly is a game changer for us lens wearing mask wearers!

They ran up while I was getting my kit sorted. Going up there I saw a guy with a bloody head, looked like he'd been through a windshield, so I asked him what happened... he told me some bloke from the other side of the channel had obviously been practicing his pendulum casting, as a plain bomb hit him right on his head in the dead of the night! After that, I caught two little Strapy's, nothing else after that tho... hope he's alright...?

    Graeme, do you have any preference on the bait release mechanism on the pulley rig? I find the impact leads and the ones with the little plastic hook pretty good. The type with impact shield are a bit more fiddly, I find. It's easy to overtighten them so they don't release.

    • @TAFishing
      @TAFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is a grey plastic one, don't know the name it has a sort of curved plastic paddle on the end,I'm not a lover of those...If I'm just heaving out on a relatively still night I don't mind if its not clipped,but in a headwind I need it more streamlined or I am not going to get much distance,so clipped I find is better then.

    You need to come up to North Wales Graeme. The beach fishing has been pretty good with lots of different species. Sell the boat, buy yourself a little camper then you can travel the country! Keep safe.

    • @TAFishing

      I don't know,its easy to say commercial fishing but its the beach fishing itself that seems to have changed...where are all the South Coast Flounders and Dabs ??? And 3/5lb Codling ??...let's hope something better moves in this winter and gets those rod tops rattling...Part 2 up tomorrow(Sat)

    I can not understand why someone would use a pully rig that requires a special sinker over a simple fish finder rig that does the same thing.

    • @TAFishing
      @TAFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pulley rig doesn't need a special sinker,any weight will do as long as you use the bait clip above it. I was using a Pulley Rig with a plain bomb weight on my light rod.

    Having lots of experience of tucking down. May I suggest a good thermal balaclava instead of a flappy towel for your head in bed. Even two. Thicker thermal socks and fingerless gloves. Bob on bro!
