The Russians also make a modern AK 308 which is basically an AK12 chambered in 308 or 7.62 NATO. Since we already got the AK 203, I don't know why we didn't get that as well instead of getting the direct impingement operated SIG instead...even when SIG offers plenty of piston operated options
Our govt really made an odd choice procuring 7.62x39 instead of 5.56 that would reduce the recoil and increase the lethality at long range considering our main army standard issue is 5.56

What is the use of picatinny rails if there are no optics or scopes. The front handgaurd lacks mlocks. The reason to upgrade ak was to add attachments and gadgets to it. It's range will remain 300-400 m all improvements will improve its accuracy.
I hope that Indian-Govt & Military will consider to sign a deal with Russia under Make-in-India program for:- (1) AK-204 (2) RPK-203 or a 7.62x39 version of RPK-16 This will insure Logistical commonality of ammunition for Indian Security forces.
Just cuz of corrupt bureaucrats and corrupt top brass military babus regular troops will be getting IRRPL AK203 and it's more downgraded model of the original Russian AK203(what he is firing here) while costing the same price as the original
The only downgrade is the stock which is only foldable compared to foldable and adjustable stock shown in the video and the lack of side rails. Except these indian ak203 are same as the one shown in the video.

Incorrect way of 'making safe' the rifle. You ought to remove the magazine before cocking the rifle to clear it. And once cleared, you gotta press the trigger, and then put the lever to 'safe' before putting it down. Pls follow firearms safety rules.

7.62x39 is more lethal than 5.56 NATO that's why Indian army replace insas rifle 5.56 NATO with sig 716 7.62×39

Looks good but please dont use the same material and metals as used in insas rifle which is a big headache for maintainance by our soldiers.
