Hey Doc you should do an experiment with one of those drum composters with your cores and some of the leaves from the woods around you I'm starting with the dirt booster Plus it should build up a heck of a compost and show people what they can do if they're not running a 2000 square foot garden
Doc, I am and avid watcher since coming across your channel. With your videos I’ve gotten the best looking grass on my block. Lots of compliments from neighbors. I seeded winter rye this past winter. How can I get rid of it so my Bermuda can take over?
@@HowTowithDoc awesome, thank you. I may also have a grub problem. I live in good ol CA and looks like I can’t get the Anderson product shipped to me. Any other recommendations
In NE Florida just across the border from GA. I have 7,200 sqft im going to seed with zenith zoysia I got from Super Sod. Soil temps are 67 currently and 10 day forecast is 78, 80, 81, 81, 79, 79, 83, 85, 86 and 84. Do you think I should pull the trigger and seed it or wait a little longer? Also I love your content very informative.
Question for ya Doc. We are about to seed bermuda (Not common seed) on our lawn. The lawn is mostly dirt at this point with very little grass. I want to put humichar and pfg complete down but in what order is the best when seeding?
I had nice grass on the side of my house, dummy neighbor of mine would set his prinkler on during day 12 pm when the sun would already be blazing in TX. Needless to say, I now have no grass on the side of my house, just rock hard dirt. Thank you for this video, I think this will really help me. Oh and that neighbor moved out already .
How long after seeding a Bermuda lawn should I apply my first bag of PGF Complete? It will be a brand new seed after a full dethatch. I figured commenting on your latest video would be best. Thanks for all your guides!
Not sure, maybe I missed it but Doc might’ve forgot to mention if you’re going to aerate and seed you might not want to do a pre-emergent. I’m jealous of that Billygoat! 😜. Thanks Doc!
Doc been watching you for 3 years now and was wondering how often do we put down our products down from Anderson? Like the PGF complete HUMICHAR, green shocker and such? Do we need to put it out once a week or month? Just starting this treatment on my lawn and want to know how often we put it out? I’ve tried to find it on the lawn guide but couldn’t find how often we put it out.
Clay soil where I live, my neighbor and I have debated the topic of picking up cores or not after an aeration. You say pick them up, many say leave them. Is it something that you can’t really go wrong with either way?
Great Video Doc! Can you tell us what’s the brand of the straw had with blue wave designs on the underside of the brim? Thanks as I need a good outdoor hat.
Quick question - Love your channel. I amended my soil 8 days ago (after soil test), I added Green Shocker 5 days ago. Would it be too early to go ahead and add PGF Complete 16-4-8 now? Thanks in advance.
Follow your guide to a T and yard has improved 100 in the last two years. However, I don’t know what grass seed to use for shade. I got some a few years ago that was called 5 Star didn’t do so good. What’s good grass for shade?
Doc, I have drainage pipe and electrical conduit buried just below the surface of my lawn making it difficult to do a core aeration. Do you have any experience with liquid aeration, or would I be wasting my money?
Liquid aeration is better than nothing but no where close to a core aeration. Can’t you just flag the area with the drainage and electrical and avoid that area
It's manual labor but I have found the ego bristle broom flipped backwards so it brooms back at you will clean your grass clean as a whistle while you walk backwards with it. Just have to do sections at a time and take breaks. I use mine for sand that graders push into my yard with snow, crab apples, nuts, leaves, and grass. Borrow someone's battery or gas and try it out. You have to flip the damn thing tho because the other way is way to hard to push.
“It’s the same crappy dirt…” Hahaha! Yep - it’s the same crappy CLAY. I don’t pick ‘em up - too lazy - but I water them in and they disappear in 5-6 days.
Thats one of the most beautiful grassed areas and water outlook ive ever seen, damn id sit there for hours drinking beer and fishing lol
Love your videos DOC have learned so much from you over the yrs👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Would love to visit your beautiful farm one day👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿🙏🏾🙏🏾
Putting my Agri-fab core plug aerator together now. Been needing this for a few years now and finally got it.

Watching this space
Once you scalp.. keep it short and the heat will take over. There are sprays for this, but I prefer natural transition. Bermuda always wins.

Doc, core vs. spike? Might be a great addition to your guides.
spike doesn't remove compaction
spike is for something like bent grass greens. Spike aeration may increase compaction.

Waiting for a response here as well. About to seed bermuda on my lawn. Do you humichar before seeding as well?

Heeeeey Doc. Would putting down Zoysia Seed after a core-aeration, have a decent chance of success? In the past, I have scarified zoysia seed in.

Any other good recommendations for a liquid pre-emergent for my split schedule bc I can’t afford the one by Dow - Dimensions? Thanks!!!!
Thanks for the video Doc.

I have been needing to Aerate my lawn too, expensive for someone else to do it but do not have a way to rent so in a delima.
thank you again sir!

🙋♂️ is Spike aeration just as good as Core aeration? Can you put like up to your Billy goat or anything similar to it? Thanks

So if you have a clay soil do you recommend removing the plugs?

Hey Doc. Can you please tell me the brand of the straw hat that you wear in your videos. And maybe where I can buy it. Thanks for your time.

Forget the lawn, let’s go fishin.
Beautiful pond you have there.🤠
hey Doc I live in Lagrange ga.....need to know what seed to mix with centipede grass.....thanks
I think the birds are eating my blueberries too. Thanks Doc!
clay, how to get less clogs? lube them with say olive oil?
Moist soil... nothing else will really help
Where did you get your Billy Goat Aerator at, and how much was it if I may ask.
Do you aerate every year?
Usually yes
My family ask me do your ever stop, my answer is yea when I’m finished. You’ll get there one day.
If the see goes down in the aeration holes will it really germinate?
After a rain... the holes fill up so yes.
I think fabricating a "catch" container behind ol' Billygoat to catch the cores would be a better solution.
Exactly my thought. Looks like they fall a few inches behind and putting some kind of catch like the sweeper has would at least get most of them 🤔
Damn Doc, I'm gonna start calling you the LORAX
Doc, i hope you see my comment. I got a weed ive been fighting for years now. Is there a way i can send you a pic of the weed.
Hi👋 Doc! What brand of Bermuda seed do you use?
Get a tow behind lawn sweeper
Drive by the old house and see if the new owners are keeping up with the Bermuda lawn…
No way they can even come close to keeping up with it like Doc. But, it would be interesting to see.
Doc, what do ya think about Yard Mastery and their products? Thanks😊
It wasn't sent to you! Mind your own business.
“It’s the same crappy dirt…” Hahaha! Yep - it’s the same crappy CLAY. I don’t pick ‘em up - too lazy - but I water them in and they disappear in 5-6 days.
I am too old to take the butt whipping of picking those things up
