I'm 71 years old and actually saw the "House of Wax" with Vincent Price in 3D at the theatres when it came out when I was a kid. Now today's 3D version of this movie is defiantly an upgrade because when movie was originally released the 3D at the theatre, the effects were done in the theatre by putting on 3D glasses that were made of clear colored lenses in cardboard frames, a blue lens for one eye and a red lens on the other. It was 3D effects technically speaking but you can imagine the picture quality of the film itself! It was pretty bad but I still remember it today over 60 years or so later. I got a really large 3D collection also and the trick is, get a multi-regional 3D Blu-Ray player because most 3D movies in recent days aren't released in 3D here in the United States anymore, they are really pushing the 4K format here in the United States, but 3D movies are alive and well overseas in other countries, so I buy a lot of my 3D moves from overseas, like the UK, Finland, France, Australia, Germany etc. Amazon is all over the world, it's a really good source. It's worth the investment for sure, 3D Blu-Ray players here are hacked by a third party to be multi-regional then resold, it's really worth the extra money for the player, because you can literally play any disk from anywhere/region in the world, including DVDs. I actually saw a few movies you showed that I'm gonna search for! Great Channel, if you get more 3D movies later, you ought do another video, loved this one.
That’s a really cool memory! I know very well how the old glasses were. Thanks for sharing that story. Very cool to say you saw that when it originally came out. I have quite a few 3D movies from over seas and so far haven’t had any issues playing on my player. I always enjoy meeting other movie lovers and I’m glad you enjoy my channel! Thank you so much for watching and commenting! Have a great weekend!
@@stevecraigretrogames A lot of 3D Blu-rays from overseas are sold as region free but not all them. The last 3D Blu-Ray I bought off Amazon in France, that wasn't an American release in 3D, was Will Smith's - Gemini Man, 2019. Great 3D but the movie itself was just OK not great, was expecting more.
Dude, I love this video. I have hundreds of 3D blu-rays and have imported so many from overseas. The format is my favourite ever and I'm so glad projectors are still being made (and for James Cameron/Pixar etc for keeping 3D alive and well in the cinema)! The force awakens 3D lenticular is a must-have in any 3D collection for sure. There are so many horror films in 3D ahah it's great, glad you have My Bloody Valentine. I want the Friday the 13th boxset that comes with the 3D film but it's still overpriced.
Thank you! It’s one of my favorite ways to pass the time. I’ve imported a few from overseas. I absolutely love the 3D format and watch them whenever I can! I’m also happy they continue to put out 3D at the theaters! Haha I do have My Bloody Valentine! Such a great movie there! I love any horror movies especially in 3D so I’m still always on the lookout to add more. Thanks so much for watching and the awesome comment! Glad you enjoyed!
To remove labels for covers and boxes, rub white spirit using a make up removal pad made of cotton wool, then leave for 10 minutes then repeat, let it dry, peel and rub off the excess sticker glue. The smell disappears in a couple of days. This is the best way as I have tried cooking oil and WD-40 which people usually use.
This is a great collection and your tidbits as you went along will be helpful as I continue to build out my movies. You have a good mix of animation, action, horror, and even the golden age of the 50s.
Thank you! I glad you enjoyed the variety. I’m a fan of almost every genre so I grab most 3D movies I see. I really appreciate you watching and commenting!
Excellent! That’s what I want to hear and I hope you’re able to track them down and add them to your library. Glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching!
I was jealous when I saw you had Rogue One, Jumper and Ghost in the Shell, but when i saw you had a Tim Burton collection as one and Underworld... maaan.. good video!
Thank you! Very nice! I’d like to get about 30 more and I’d be happy. Good luck on your complete NA collection! I’ll have to check that out! I appreciate it and thanks for watching!
Thank you for watching! Sounds like you have a nice collection! Haha that’s what you have to do. Stick up for the little guys! Thanks again for checking my video out!
Thanks for sharing. A couple I would recommend to pick up: Journey 2 and Final Destination (The one with the race track). Also the documentary style movies (think imax) have great 3D effects.
Thanks for sharing your collection with us. I’ve spotted eleven titles that I need to add to my collection. Based on you collection I think you might like to add ‘Julia X’ to your horror section, ‘Tangled’ and ‘The Croods’ to your animation section and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ volume 2 to your marvel MCU. If you like natural 3d from the 50’s I would recommend ‘Inferno’ - a real B-Movie but so realistic….and maybe not your taste ‘Kiss Me Kate in 3D’ which you will probably need to buy the box set of 4 musicals which is usually cheaper way to buy it.
Thank you for watching! Those are all great recommendations for sure. I’ve actually looked at buying al of those in the past and I’m sure at some point I will. I still actively buy 3D movies but video games take most of my time and money haha. I do definitely enjoy watching a 3D flick now and then though. Thanks so much for watching and commenting I really appreciate it!

Great collection man. I know these are very hard to find. Especially these days.. I have some of the ones you have but know where near your huge collection! Awesome man! We have very similar taste in movies. Im a huge Sci fi movie fan. Sfuff like Live, Die, Repeat, The Terminator, John Carter, and so on. Your right sucks they didn't finish the John Carter trilogy. It was a cool ass movie! Great Video Steve! 😁👍
Thanks Jeremy! They are definitely getting harder to find! Yeah I’ve been buying them over the last 10 years haha. I bet we do have a lot of the same taste! I’m so bummed they didn’t finish John Carter man ugh!! Thanks brother!
Nice collection. BTW, you can easily remove those pesky stickers from your slipcovers with just some paint thinner on a paper towel. I've removed dozens of them without ANY damage to the lenticular cover or cardboard cover. Thoroughly wet a wadded paper towel with some paint thinner and rub it on the sticker for several minutes. Keep rubbing it until you can simply peel it off. It might come off in pieces, but it will not damage the case, even the lenticular ones. Also, if you want to see a REALLY funny animated 3D movie, check out ZOOTOPIA. VERY cute movie with excellent 3D. And there are TONS of really great 3D nature documentaries out there. You really owe it to yourself to at least check out THE DAVID ATTENBOROUGH 3D COLLECTION (BBC) with some of the most breathtaking 3D nature photography you will ever see.
Thank you for the comment! I just now saw this because TH-cam never alerts me to new messages 🤦♂️. Thanks for the tip! I use Goo Gone for my games and that works pretty well. I’ll try your idea for the lenticular covers! I love Zootopia! It’s a hilarious movie and I love watching the 3D documentaries! I used to watch them all the time when there was a couple 3D channels years ago. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I still love 3d movies I try to pick up ones I see when I can if I find one new cheap at places like big lots or dollar tree I grab them sometime though you have to pay a premium price for some example the classic 80s movie Parasite 3d was a special order but it was reasonably priced it cost me 20 dollars Friday the 13th part 3 3d finally got a true 3d release from scream factory but you have to buy the complete box set collection plus you have make sure you get the corrected disc as there was a slight error with the original 3 of the films in the collection had to have replacement disc sent out they were free no charge at all also Disney 3d films can be hard to find and costly when you do
That’s awesome! Not many people appreciate 3D anymore. I’ve definitely looked at the Parasite 3D and will eventually get it! Yea some Disney movies are still expensive for sure. I’ll probably get around 20 more and then I’ll be done I think. Keep the 3D alive and thanks for watching!
