This will be one of two videos this month, the next one being a review of Ultraman 80. I gotta prepare my Halloween content, which will no doubt take some time to get ready, so please forgive the ensuing drought. Will likely have some vids ready for September, so look forward to that as well.
OK so yeah I really do like Ultraman 80 and some people do like it but other people don’t like it but still I really do love the monster designs like Timmy some Motrin series are basically having suits that areWeird
I can't say much, but the short version is "yes," the TsuPro footage WAS licensed for a third-party production company waaaay back in the 70's/80's. I decided that, for the packaging art, it would be best to skirt around the monster likenesses and go for an "American Poster" aesthetic ala Destroy All Monsters, since the movie is not directly acknowledged by current-day TsuPro.
Thanks for giving this otherwise meh obscurity some attention especially after Wikizilla decided to delete all mention of the film (dumb) or even the Ultraman wiki not covering it in any significant manner. From what I understand, Tsuburaya Productions did license footage to the South Korean filmmakers but under the assumption that only minor city destruction scenes sands the monsters would be used... Needless to say, Flying Monster didn't go lightly in that regard. As for SRS Cinema... I contributed extras and additional footage to both Zillafoot and Wangmagwi sooo... Sorry?
Not quite; Tsuburaya licensed their footage for use in this film, but there was one caveat: they couldn't use footage of Ultraman or the other Ultras. The monsters were all fair game, though.
8:59 A paleontologist studies all the prehistoric life, like plants, dinosaurs, prehistoric mammals, prehistoric amphibians, etc. While an archaeologist studies cultures and societies from the past.
This movie works as decent companion piece with Attack of the Super Monsters since they share things in common. They both use footage from Tsuburaya produced TV shows to create a strange confusing mess.
Unlike WOTGM, Attack Of The Super Monsters was all completely Tsuburaya footage. Both the animation segments and the dinosaur footage came from the first 4 episodes of the show “Dinosaur War Izenborg”
The srs situation is like the current Shin Ultraman getting released through Cleopatra records. How they managed to secure it and not mill creek is beyond me
PLEASE DO IT! 2:56 THE FIGHT SCENES ARE THE BEST PART OF THE SHOW, INCLUDING THE SOUND EFFECTS AND OST! My favorites are fireman vs baranda V, dorango, gagango, stegorus, and Nerogiras.
The Tsuburaya Footage is used with out permission, apparently. C'mon ZaGorudan, use your toku-voodoo and get Fireman Millcreek release into this reality. Tsu Hong Wu/The Founding of the Ming Dynasty apparently had it's special effects used in several other productions, and rumor has it these props and suits were made by Tsuburaya, but I only know of The Fairy and the Devil. But the exact same scenes.
I saw this for the first time a year ago and immediately recognized the Ultra-series monsters. Definitely a load of crap. But still, plenty of unintentional humor. Thanks for posting.
There's another used footage movie where I recall the monsters would talk nonstop, maybe Ultras too. Gomora: yeah get him tail! *pummels Ultraman* SHUT UP!
That was Space Warriors 2000, a movie made by Sompote Sands, the mastermind behind Chaiyo Productions. It (and it’s original form Hanuman Vs. Seven Ultramen) are some of the few movies I can’t sit through.
There one plot point i only about the movie: so the doc guy i forget the name of sees a dinosaur egg And Kills it to stop the dinosaurs from idk making kids💀 like if it hatchs. They should son of Godzilla footage if the guy didn't fucking kill it. İ know this movie from brandon tenold's review. And was my First time seeing the movie

Thanks for the insight! Great art on that btw.
Smart strategy there.

War Of the God Monsters is such an epic title I briefly forget it's stock footage then get disappointed...again...

It's quite impressive but they made Pestar even more silly. That's certainly an achievement.
Can't wait to see you cover the Tsuburaya-Chaiyo mess after this with this series...

If I had a nickel for everytime ultra kajiu were used in a knock off live action movie
I would have at least 3 ( this, hanuman and SW 2000)
You are definitely on-point!
Isn’t Hanuman the only official Chaiyo-Tsupro collab?
good news about Fireman, that show is almost finished being fully subbed. They just have the last episode left.

No, Tsuburaya needed the money and gave them permission to use the footage.
Still funny to me that the movie opens with the music from Das Boot of all things.

If you can review that, then I hope you can review Space Warriors 2000.
Bad as it is, I’m still happy that it’s no longer a lost movie
@ZaGorudan Will you cover Space Warriors 2000 at some point?
This feels almost like a Godfrey Ho film at points
When will u cover the Hanuman movies?
