She has a lot more depth than we give her credit for. That being said, the transition from 0:55 - 1:01 is gorgeous ;w;
@delusionalcupcake4319 given the context of this video, probably, but I had a far different interpretation of this song when i listened to it. due to me being a very introverted and logistical person, (and having autism ofc) I never really learned how to interact with people. Thus the song to me is about the internal struggle of wanting to be alone and by yourself (look who's inside again...), and wanting to spend time with people instead of spending it with what I wanted to do by myself. (you'll do any old shit to get out of it, try making faces, try making jokes...) And then the conclusion, "come out with your hands up we've got you surrounded", represents how family/parents will force me way to far out of my comfort zone when making me do stuff with them. i actually have no clue what this video could be about because it doesn't relate to the song at all.

1:01 the way Aoi looked here just broke my heart to pieces. Especially when her shadow was shown blocking her child self. You did so well with little visuals conveying messages. When I watched tbhk, I had this vibe from Aoi that she's hiding something and pretending, almost coming off as fake. When I read the manga, I understood her character so much more and started to like her
*MANGA SPOILERS!!* (I’m just going to go ahead and rant) Aoi’s character is really so amazing. She deserves a lot more attention then we as a fandom are giving her. It’s really sad how good she was at faking everything, to everyone, even her best friend Nene, Nene just thought of her as a perfect girl who happened to be her best friend. Nothing really more behind it. She probably thought it would be better for Nene to think of her as perfect instead of her finding out the truth. And when she got involved with the supernaturals, and almost got killed countless times, that’s probably where she snapped. And that’s probably why she got so mad at Nene for not telling her anything. So when Akane went to save her and ended up confessing that he knows she isn’t perfect, and that he hates how fake she is, I have a feeling she felt a lot of relief. I have a feeling she knew that Nene and Hanako wouldn’t really die. And that the reason she stabbed Akane was because she was tired of hearing him saying he loves her and how “perfect she is”. In the end Akane was really the only one who understood her, but he didn’t say it sooner and she didn’t realize it until it was too late. Honestly I love how much depth every character has, I love them a lot. And of course I’m not saying that Nene didn’t appreciate Aoi, because Nene loves and appreciates her very much just like Aoi does to her, but she just didn’t know her as much as she thought she did.
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO SEES AKANE AND AOI WITH GOOD EYES, I LOVE THEM!! I just don't know if I agree with why she stabbed Akane because at this time she was without her memories, so she just wanted to die and she knew that the only way was obbeying the number 6 orders!!

[[spoiler warning]] Aoi and Akane’s story is so underrated honestly. Just imagine being childhood friends with someone and years later you spend your last moments together. All your lifes efforts been put into theirs and its kinda sad to see both Akane and Aoi fall apart together.

Shes such a well written character, that at first u would thing “ahhh, its the main protagonists best friend thats pretty, popular and a kind best friend” well u are right about pretty bc everyone in the manga is GORGEOUS, u are right about popular as well, u are right about kind. But this best friend is the friend that u wouldn’t think they had so much pain inside, that they would still smile to make people think they’re okay. Spoilers . . . . I think what I love so much about Toilet Bound Hanaka is how every character feels almost equally as important. I remember when I first started reading and Aoi showed up, I told myself that I probably wouldn't even have to remember her name, because she wasn't going to be important, same with Akane, and Mistuba, and I was incredibly wrong. They all add to the story as fully fleshed out characters with their own goals and morals and it's truly beautiful and crazy to think that characters that I told myself would only be used as plot devices for what I considered to be the main cast, would end up being my favorites in the end.
