I grew up with the Bee Gees. They have so many wonderfully beautiful songs. There is no one that sounds like them.

I'm 54 yrs old & this has been my top favorite Bee Gees song since I was 10 years old. My older cousin (by 3 years) had just bought the soundtrack album to Saturday Night Fever. Neither of us had seen the movie yet; as we were too young for the R rating, but I clearly remember the double album had still shots of movie scenes. She played that record over & over & over again for hours. The next day, I went to the store & bought my own copy. Awhile later, my elementary school held a dance in the cafeteria right after school was let out. I was in the 5th grade & a boy I knew (6th grader) asked me to 'slow dance" to this song. I was my first time ever dancing with a boy! He didn't ask me to dance because he liked me (in that way). Rather his mom was friends with mine & also cousin's mom (my auntie), so we all hung out together. He knew I had that album & that this was my favorite song so he asked me to dance. I can still picture it in my head; the two of us facing each other, my arms extended out with hands on his shoulders while his arms were out & hands on my hips as we swayed side to side while turning in slow circles on the dance floor...so awkward - LOL! :-D
A classic! In my opinion, it is the Bee Gees' romantic masterpiece among several other romantic songs by them. "More Than a Woman," "Too Much Heaven," "Words," "Run to Me." Oh, and "One."

Three brothers who were born to harmonize. Few groups can even come close to their combined sound.
Barry Gibb (oldest boy) and their sister, Lesley (eldest child in the family) are still alive. Lesley did sing on occasion with them when they were young, but turned away from the fame for a quieter "normal" life instead of the global stardom that her brothers experienced. Barry is still making music & recently teamed up with a bunch of Country artists to do covers of classic Bee Gees songs. One of which just earned him a number 1 spot on the music charts, not bad for a guy in his mid 70's.
In addition, the Bee Gees kids are singing together, and Barry has 2 of his sons collaborating with him

They are such prolific composers & have written songs for many other recording artists such as Barbra Streisand (Woman in Love), Samantha Sang (Emotion), Yvonne Elliman (If I can't have you), Frankie Valli (Grease), Diana Ross (Chain Reaction), Dionne Warwick (Heartbreaker), Tavares (More than a Woman), Celine Dion (Immortality), Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton (Islands in the stream), just to name a few....
They have been performing since their childhood/teens. In their early years, they sang with a much lower tone & were sometimes thought of as being just another British group who were trying to sound like the Beatles of that time period. They hit it HUGE in the 70's, and not just from their disco songs. They continued to create music long after the end of the disco era. Very few people can lay down such a heavy funk beat on a bass guitar like Maurice could back in the day.
Please check out the following songs from the Bee Gees (as well as the ones done by other singers that I've listed): Jive Talkin' (my 3rd favorite), Nights on Broadway, Stayin' Alive, Night Fever, You should be dancing, Tragedy, Alone (my 2nd favorite), Too much Heaven, and of course this one - How deep is your love (my top #1 favorite Bee Gees song).
Their younger brother, Andy was a successful solo artist in his own right. Even though Andy was 12 years younger than Barry, they could have been twins. They share very similar facial features & vocal sound. Barry & Andy look more like twins than the actual fraternal twins, Robin & Maurice.
Tragically Andy died just a few days after his 30th birthday from a heart condition, made worse by years of using alcohol/drugs. He was my favorite "Bee Gee" (short for Brothers Gibb) when I was a kid. Please check out some of Andy's big hits - Shadow Dancing, Don't throw it all away, Thicker than water, An everlasting love, & I just want to be your everything (my favorite song from Andy).

They recorded 21 albums. They had a younger brother that was a solo artist. You could tell by looking at him and listening to him what family he came from. Andy Gibb is his name. I Just Wanna Be Your Everything is a great song. He had a lot of great songs.

The sibling harmonies are truly amazing and unique! Their writing is romantic yet still rings true so it isn't sappy. In a documentary about the Bee Gees it shows how they wrote the album in an old rundown villa. One room had high ceilings with arched windows where the sun would stream in, that's where Barry wrote the song. If you enjoy their sound, you may enjoy the film. Back in the day when real MEN knew how to talk to their ladies or write songs to convey their feelings. Where are these songs nowadays? Where is the Bee Gees or Lionel Richie/The Commodores of today's generation??? That went away in the 90's. :-(

I first heard this song watching Saturday Night Fever in the Sherwood Mall movie theater. 4 years later this was our wedding dance.
The oldest brother, Barry, IS still alive and recording. Next you should do: "Too Much Heaven".
You gotta do more Bee Gees reviews. Truly one of the worlds TOP artists period. Watch Saturday Night Feavor, they were featured and John Travollta dancing to their music is a must see.
The melody of this song is sung together by Barry and Robin and the third brother Maurice joins them on the chorus. All three great singers. For me Robin's voice was the most unique. Barry had a great pop or blues voice, Robin a great ballad or soul voice and Maurice a great country style voice and third harmony singer.
