I was a freshman and sophomore at Perry when they made the state finals in 2015 and 2016. Even though they lost both games, those playoff runs were legendary and I will never forget how well Perry did the whole season, they really were a great and clutch football team but La Salle just had way more talent on the roster. Perry football definitely makes our community proud 💪🏼
If it wasn't for parochial schools in D1 and D2, Stark County would have a lot more football state championships. Massillon would have actually have a few....and honestly they could have just won 3 in a row very recently.... After Perry of course could have won 2 in a row..... Hoover had a chance in 2008 but lost to Ignatius in the state semis.... McKinley could have a few more if it weren't for Moeller in the 80s or Ignatius in the 90s.... Be very proud of these Perry teams. You don't know if they'll ever get back or how long it will take to do so. Win or lose, its not easy to make 2 straight state title games.
@@JimTrussell Dude you're absolutely right though. The Federal League itself is very tough and they have a very rich history of some of the toughest teams in Ohio, but they have run into some super competitive opponents over the years as you pointed out. Ohio really is the toughest state when it comes to football, I don't care what anybody says!!! Also I found myself in this video at 2:03, I'm in the middle of the group of 5 standing up during the Perry Alma Mater :) And again, you are 100% right, it is not easy at all to make back to back finals appearances in the state of Ohio, which is why I'll always be proud of my Perry Panthers. And finally I just realized you are a McKinley fan. Much respect to your Bulldogs, I root for them EVERY time they play Massillon 💯
What a joke. Larkin was so much better than sims. It wasnt close. Sims couldn't find wholes or break tackles. This game really showed who the best player in Ohio was. Sims wasn't even a top 5 player lasalle faced this year. Colerains Deshaunte Jones and Amir Riep, elders Peyton Ramsey and Tommy Kraemer, and moellers Jake Hausman were all better. This kid is barely MAC caliber. I also wish La Salle would've played an actual team in the championship. This Perry team was just not good. The kids were way smaller and not nearly as strong as La Salle. This game was over before it started. Everyone from Cincy knew this would be a blowout. Sims was the most underwhelming player I've ever seen. Northern Ohio people made it sound like he was an explosive playmaker. Not even a little. He was a below average player that only got a lot of yards because he had 40 carries a game.
+JimTrussell I'm assuming your school is Massilon Washington. They do not have any real championships. That's why they are called the paper tigers. None of the championships are real. History? More like made up history. At least La Salle has actual rings. And please keep crying about recruiting lol. La Salles best players are from feeder grade schools. The best high school football is in southwest Ohio with st iggy and eds being the two good programs in northern Ohio. Keep crying loser.
The only joke that night was the mention of sportsmanship by the OHSAA. WHERE WERE THEY WHEN THE CLASSLESS LA SALLE PLAYERS WERE ON THE FIELD WHILE THE PERRY MARCHING BAND RESPECTFULLY TRYED TO DO THEIR SHOW. That was the worst case of disrespect I have ever seen at a sporting event. Total disregard for someone getting hurt.
Agree & disagree. I have seen plenty of times where a team has come out of halftime and practiced a bit on the field while a band played. Honestly didnt notice how much time was left for the break, so I cant comment further on that. But I do believe both teams played very chippy. I know a lot of La Salle players were getting in Perry kids faces, but in my opinion it was a clean game. The only thing that i personally didnt like was the play where La Salle had 3 penalties right in a row, a 3 were "block in the backs" and i thought that was out of hand. i understand frustration but that was when someone could get hurt. Sadly its over with, but as a McK fan for life, Im happy Perry gave them a game and didnt stoop to their level. They represented Stark very well.
Lasalle is a joke? The head football coach from Perry and that Columbus North award were the only joke that night! Maybe if the Perry players didn't talk so much trash to the Lasalle players before the game or the coach called a play that gave the "best" runningback in the state the ball in space, you may have had a chance. Terrible play calling, extremely overrated ball carrier and a soft season gets you the result we saw. Perrysburg would have smoked Perry. And for not being a Perry fan you sure fooled everyone who watched this with your crying in the video and your jealousy in your post! I sure hope your school isn't Perry's little brother Washington!!! If so you have no credibility at all and P.S. Don't tell anybody!!

+12patstombrady You assumed incorrectly. Your whole rant was just a waste of your time.

I never talk in any of my videos. Any voice you hear isn't mine. You are mistaken.
I mean all you have to do is look at my picture and Im clearly not a Perry or Massillon fan. Keep trying.
