Something you might find interesting, at 15:50 when you were pointing out the mountain peaks to the South across highway 14, I looked at them closely on Google Earth. From the Nokhu Crags flowing NE for about a half mile, and almost a 1000 feet wide is what looks like a fairly recent land slide. From the lack of vegetation on its lower level, it could be less than a couple hundred years old, would have been a sight to see...I'm a Colorado old timer whose hiking days are pretty much over so I really enjoy your videos, along with countless others, thank you for your effort and for posting...Also, on the west side of the Nokhu Crags is Lake Agnes, whose formation looks partly like the result of a beautiful rock flow (for lack of a better term). These satellite views are a joy in my old age...
I believe we are going to try the Diamond Peaks loop for the first time this weekend. Going to try this exact route, ty again for your hiking documentation.
I did this hike two weeks before this video was filmed, in late July. It looked exactly as it does here with the smoke. Normally I don't like the smoke, but in this instance it kinda gave the hike a really cool, mysterious, fantasy like vibe.
The smoke is why I sat on this footage for so long. It was like trying to produce a black and white video. But I do enjoy that loop! I love looking over to the Lake Agnes area and the surrounding peaks. One of these days Im gonna go the other way at Montgomery Pass and see how close I can get to Clark Peak.
@@nicksangetta8874 I may be wrong, but I think Clark Peak may be closer to hike from the Ruby Jewel trail over in the State Forest State Park area. I haven't tried it yet, but that's what I read from my research. The route is much longer from Montgomery Pass unless I am mistaken.
Have not ventured out to this whole area along highway 14 due to distance (3hr+ drive). Seems like I’m missing out a lot. Hope to check it out finally this summer starting with Lake Agnes/Richthofen, or maybe Lulu/Thunder
Richthofen from Agnes route looks short but it's pretty hard scrambling up the loose scree to the saddle, we hiked failed that route mostly due to weather turning us around in the end, and still put about 8 miles on our day with no summit. Our car couldn't drive up to Agnes TH so we started down lower near the road and hiked up from there. We found it much easier to get Richthofen from the La Poudre Pass TH at the end of Long Draw Reservoir road through Skeleton Gulch route. Highly recommend Lulu/Thunder either from American Lakes TH or from La Poudre Pass TH and you can loop it with Neota if you wanted to. Look for Nick's video on those options.

Being a resident of Longmont, when I want a hike I surf your channel to find one! Grateful for the great work!
Same here, Nick's channel is the best source for hiking the RMNP in my opinion, a perfect companion to Lisa Foster's hiking guide book.

Thank was really pretty!
I think those signs are meant to be at eye level for cross country skiers. How many push-ups did you get in?
I think I only counted to 5 😂
