      Ok. But this year was like, exceptionally fucked. How many ACL tears are we on rn? I mean shit, who’s out here predicting the Jets as playoff contenders WITHOUT their starting QB? Who’s out here predicting Cousins finally starts to look legit only to be out for the season a week later? The bengals slow start, the ravens bringing the torch to the NFL, the BRONCOS BEAT THE CHIEFS, what the hell is even happening?
      I got a whole ass two things right:
      The Lions knew what they were creating,
      And CJ was HIM.
      Oh and the chiefs are still good and Myles Garret is making a run at DPOY.
      Everything else is fucked. Beyond comprehension.

    I'm surprised you didn't mention Baker Mayfield. He was pretty much written off this year and was assumed to be one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL. The Buccaneers were also assumed to be one of the worst teams but they're managed to be a middle of the road team, with Baker being one of their bright spots. He doesn't get enough recognition for being a really solid qb.

    The Lions are suddenly amazing at drafting. The fact that just in the last couple years they’ve drafted TJ Hockinson AND Sam Laporta at such an important and tough-to-transition position…I’ve seen detroit 7-2 but I’ve never seen them 7-2 with a future. So long as they have draft picks, this GM/HC duo will keep them competitive.

    • @LordPichuPal
      @LordPichuPal 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      It's amazing what happens when you bring in a real GM like Brad Holmes, instead of dumbasses like Matt Millen or Bob Quinn. Holmes formerly worked as a scouting director for the Rams during those years when they had Goff and were trending upwards. To see him working his magic in the draft seems natural with his background, he's clearly got an eye for talent to take guys like Gibbs and Jack Campbell when everyone doubted the moves (myself included). Plus bringing Dan Campbell in as the head coach was a very smart move, this tandem is just perfect for each other. Only 3 years together and they already turned a miserable future-less franchise into a competitor.

      @LordPichuPal Having the balls to trade one of the two best QBs in franchise history for picks and a guy who everyone thought was going to be a transitional QB is what put this team in contention. Holmes knew what Goff was capable of, and while we can't say he fleeced the Rams (they did get a ring with Stafford), he certainly got incredible value in return. I firmly believe that Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell are going to be handing Sheila Ford-Kamp a Lombardi trophy in the not-too-diatant future.

It should have been an ideal situation to throw a rookie into and start cooking. Now we are 29th in rushing, 21st defense, 28th or 29th O line and 4th in overall pass rate. Not a Panthers fan but it’s his rookie year and the Panthers are a complete black hole for offensive talent, he was screwed this season when they traded DJ Moore just to draft him. I liked Stroud better and think he will be the better QB but I wouldn’t write off Young yet, it’s way too early.

      Be careful announcing greatness too soon. Like CJ Stroud, Mac Jones had only 4 losses and 4 games of over a 100 passer rating through week 9 of his rookie season, with both having a majority of their games with a QBR over 50. Jones went 10-7 as a rookie but hasn't had a winning record since, and his completion percentage and TD/INT ratio has dropped each year since.

    • @weregretohio7728
      @weregretohio7728 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As long as they all continue to develop. I'm allergic to rookie hype... teams adapt, and then people are left wondering why their stars aren't Supermen.
      And these are some of the most traditionally incompetent teams in the league we're hoping won't blow up building around them. If they are ever capable of getting it right, it would be a lot of fun to watch these guys throw down every season.
