I was 4 years old when Clinton flooded and we lived on School Hill. I remember my parents drove us down to the waters edge at several places so we could see the damage. I don't remember how long it took for the water to recede, but the residents on that hill were fortunate there was an IGA grocery store (located where the current school bus lot is). This is an incredible home video.

My dad told me stories about this flood. My dad told me that his buddy drove his boat under one of the gates of the Arkansas River Dam in Morrilton and he could touch the very top of the dam while standing in his boat. That's how high the water was

Well I guess I'm lucky I didn't move to Clinton until 2012, dang sure glad they got the drainage fixed now.

Lake Clinton! lol It sure was!
Was anyone singing "How highs the water mama?" by Johnny Cash!? I had heard Jack Lewis had to be rescued from his office. It was said they found him on top of the file cabinets. My grandparents had a safety deposit box at the Clinton State bank and were fortunate the water didn't reach their box.

I remember the days when people seen a camera and actually spoke to it instead of freaking out and calling the cops 😆 I remember this flood, somewhat anyways. I was 3 and lived on Frasier St up the hill from where they were standing across from Dr. Halls old office
