I can't possibly understand what you have experienced, but I can certainly pray for you. I sincerely hope that God brings you comfort. I admire you, for the weight that you bear on our behalf, as citizens of this country. God Bless you, Jeriel.
Thank you for sharing it with so many of us, brother. We seek to understand, but it's such an impassable mountain for those outside. Thank you for your devout service for our freedom.
+danield00d i definitely feel like mine drops because of how intelligent he sounds whenever i listen to him. i talked to him ata show in salt lake city and he is such a cool guy.
Tony Teichroeb what’s worse is when people don’t understand mental illnesses.. like people who don’t believe in depression or like ptsd since we’re on that topic.. it’s really crazy
I met him twice at shows. He stood off to the side of the stadium they played at, barefoot on the turf, and he hugged everyone who came up to him right away. He stood there for an hour and we sat by him and talked and I can say he is exactly how he seems on camera and on stage. Truly full of God and truly believes that there is good in every person.
i could listen to Garrett talk all day. he truly has inspiring and relatable things to say. i talked to him with a friend after a show in salt lake city and hes honestly one of the nicest, down to earth dudes I've ever had the pleasure of talking to. cant wait for the record.
I just found out about silent planet 2 days ago and am completely hooked. All of his lyrics are amazing. Jeriel i can't think you enough for your sacrifices. Im just sorry you were put in that position so that some elite could put another dollar in his pocket.
My daughters appreciate you, & now I got a chance to meet you through your videos & your messages, & I understand why they do! Thank you for your poetry & your humanity! Hugs!
Just found this band. I was in for 12yrs and 3 deployments. The music, and emotion can bring me to tears in a way that helps me positively release all this anger and frustration without bottling it up inside and exploding.
Thank You Jeriel and Thank You to Slient Planet for another song to hold us down and remind us that some others understand PTSD and what some of us go through. I’ve been Active Duty for 12 and though I’ve never been in a gunfight, I have had weapons pointed towards me with intent to kill. Seriously this song is Amazing. Blessings to All!
lyrically i knew this song was deep but this takes everything i thought to a whole new level. this band speaks about so much in every single song its unbelievable
while I love garret and agree with his views I honestly stand by the fact that people need actual experience now maybe if he started small like worked his way up and got into politics as a job then maybe but still you need experience I mean look at our current president.
@@cultural_marxism_fan he did good, please dont let the media teach you how to think !! He was trying to end abortion, or at least create stricter laws, allowing more religious freedom, acknowledged those persecuted in Christ.. he did some good things
I'm grinning like an idiot at how beautiful Garrett has designed this whole album, the concepts in it, the imagery, the various characters, everything. I need to meet Garrett and learn how to be a better lyricist.
wow... this is why I love this band. there's songs with meaning, and then there's songs that's paint a huge picture and tell a compelling story better than most films can. kudos sp, this one is something special.
honestly Garrett always has an amazing message and I thank him for that I mean I got yo talk to him in person and he us one of the nicest and interesting guy's I've ever meet I cannot wait till the new album comes out
Fuck dude, as an artist interested in continuing onto my masters for psychology so I can be an art therapist and help people with depression/anxiety through art. that booklet gave me chills when he explained it. Speechless
So much care coming, from this guy. I remember meeting him at a phinehashas concert. I saw a shirt at there table that read something like "save us from our hate, greed etc." and in the, middle it said "homosexuality" so I approached him and just told him that it was a very bold concept to,throw something that today is such a difficult controversial subject in there like that. He proceeded to hug me lol and say thanks and gave me his views on it. just a really nice guy with a big heart.
@@cultural_marxism_fan I was gonna say, “save us from our homosexuality” definitely wouldn’t line up with Garrett (or the rest of the bands) message/beliefs 😅
That's interesting that he said the song was originally 2:30. At that break, I'd thought it could end there, but I has so much power through the rest of the song.
Honestly, I don't think anything I can ever go through after this will be as emotionally difficult, as well as, emotionally freeing. I felt a burden of feeling like a "Murderer" for so long and just tried to hold myself accountable without an outlet or seeking guidance that for a period, i just became numb. Garrett has helped me, and I'm sure this goes for many other, feel again. Even if it was pain; sorrow; guilt; loss; or the attempt to accept what I did, I felt something. Furthermore, I'm glad to say that I'm now a Registered Nurse so that instead of being the one that harms someone and takes away, I can do everything in my power to make someone better. I have not forgotten my past, but I have found a way to forgive myself. Peace and blessings, dear brothers and sisters.
@@jerielclark3034 Thank you for opening up man. I shed a few tears even though I'm totally not connected to war or the military. I'm hoping things are getting better for you
My only question would be that when garret says he's grateful for those who sign up to defend but not harm. As a Christian, he more than any, should know that Christ teaches of loving your enemy and to not resist an evil person even if it means giving your life. Taking one life to "save" another isn't really fitting that message. I'd love to see what he has to say about that.
"25 And moreover they did say: Let us take up arms against them, that we destroy them and their iniquity out of the land, lest they overrun us and destroy us. 26 But behold, my beloved brethren, we came into the wilderness not with the intent to destroy our brethren, but with the intent that perhaps we might save some few of their souls." Alma 26:25-26 Book of Mormon
I don't think he's a democrat. He has spoken out about Trump and Hilary. He may be more liberal than conservative though. I love him though you can be anything aslong as you're an intelligent kind human being.
Rad Vocals Yeah I'm just saying some of the stuff he's said makes him sound like he leans more to the left which is fine. He seems to be a good man and he is a kick-ass artist.
he made alot of good points and he is one of the nicest people I have met...but I can't say I fully agree with him...I'm glad if is for veterans... but too me the song seemed kinda anti American... and I ain't about that...but to each his own
Telling Garrett what I experienced was possibly the most important calling I've ever had.
So glad you did, brother. Prayers go out to you and what you're dealing with. There is peace, there is love, there is grace.

Imagine the divinity one can obtain listening to Garrett while watching Rick and Morty
and it drives me absolutely wild to think that there are people out there with the audacity to think that PTSD is not a thing.

can he run for president?
+orenrules310 Please no, I don't want him to be ruined by the political system :(
Personally I think he'd ruin the system, rather than it ruin him.
No.

This is a very relevant topic, Garrett. And not only for the USA, but for the entire imperialist world.
So on point. Well said; respect
Yeah, best band of all time.

+NakedManPile I was definitely surprised too, but that's also before he rewrote the lyrics. I'm really glad they did what they did with this song.
+Corvus Veis yeah, my first listen I didn't read lyrics bc I wanted to get a feel of the song first. Definitely though, they're the best
i really want to have a chat with this man
His intelligence is inspiring
Silent Planet should do a song about the firebombing of Dresden.
Lord knows Garrett could dissect it, reassemble it, and paint it into such a beautifully poetic and meaningful picture.
Garrett for president 2k16
I really want to hear Jariel's opinion on the song now.
I don't think he would have much to say besides thank you. Its not easy to talk about.
