Mam in order by clause null values always come in first in ascending or descending order
in ascending order NULL will be at top...
in descending order, NULL values will be at bottom...(for the column in which u r applying order by)

ma,m I have a doubt... the answer to an order by command was- Select COMPANY, PNAME from PRODUCTS order by COMPANY;
so my question is mam why do we have to write order by company and why r we not writing PNAME with it?? Also, it was not mentioned in the question either
After order by...you have to write the name of the column, which you want to sort

Suppose we want to count how many males and females have taken arts. So i wrote the query
Select gender, count(*) from xii
Group by gender
Having stream='arts';
Where xii is table name
It shows error "unknown column stream in having clause
Why..
Select
Brother you cannot use = in this command it is not correct. Rather you must use like operator. So the code will be like
Having stream like (arts).

SELECT COUNT ( debt) from emp GROUP BY dept
Like this?
yes, you can write it like that if there is no null value in dept. If there is a NULL value then the count of NULL will be shown as 0 even if there are many NULL values in debt. So count(*) is better to use in any case.
