Can somebody please help me. Ive been trying to reach churches through email and phone calls to no avail. I am trying to understand the kjv only thought. Wasn't there bibles before the KJV? So wouldn't those bibles be the actual one true bible? Als, how is a bible named after a human king ok? Thank for whoever takes the time to help me grow as these two questions make me wonder why that would make the KJV any different from newer trnaslations if the kjv in fact is another teanslation with a king name on it 🤔 God bless. In a way people are choosing this is the only bible. There were bibles before the KJV to.
@@ThomasPC90 excellent question and observation. The Bible’s prior to KJV were from the better line of manuscripts (Textus Receptus). However, they were done by individuals with access to less sources (Wycliffe and Tyndale) or under Catholic influence (bishops) or contained marginal notes which influenced doctrine. The KJV had 54 of the greatest linguistic scholars perhaps of all time, with the full support and resources of the throne behind them, cross referencing each other. Now, it’s a whole lot of info to go through, so here is an easy tell. The Bible is perfect and can’t contradict itself. If you look at the Geneva and predecessors, you will find they have both David and Elhanan being the ones who slew Goliath. Contradiction, therefore, not perfect.
@ it can be a lot, so I’m with you! It has a lot to do with the lines of manuscripts, if you are talking the modern versions versus KJV. As for leading up to KJV, those Bibles played an important role in eventually getting to the KJV. For a long time the common man didn’t have access to a Bible in their native language. My channel is new, so I will be adding more content on this topic, but if you would like I can point you to some really good resources and videos!
