I bought the Beskar Mando for my nephew. Have never seen the 2-pack with Grogu and I don’t really care enough about seeing Pedro Pascal’s face to buy one from scalpers. For now I’m still happy with my original #94 Mando as my only figure of this character.
i do think the original one is the best in terms of value.
Hey Mike, Target employee here - so, unfortunately, the Mando build-up pack is marked as "Discontinued" in our system now so unless someone returns one, Target isn't gonna be getting more of these guys in the store. Exclusivity sucks and you're absolutely correct on the bot problem (I mean, just look at those G.I. Joe Vipers...) Hopefully, these guys will be given better treatment in terms of release later on!

Still have never seen the build up pack in person, but do have the regular beskar Mandalorian and the original one both found at brick and mortor. And I agree, scalpers suck...'F' the scalpers , saw the build up and the standard one for over$150 and up on eBay and even Amazon, ridiculous.
i've never seen the build up pack in the wild. Glad i got one from target's website.

I did pass on this deluxe one because I already had the regular release Beskar Mando and I had the pram from the Mission Fleet set which works great I feel.
yeah the mission fleet one does work pretty well.
I rushed out release day and managed to get the last one of these at my local Target. Then two weeks ago I see two just warming pegs. Every time I’m prepared, it ends up not being necessary.😑

Side Note: I completely agree that the accessories should have come with other figs. Pram with Grogu, Ingots and Fob with Season 1 Mando, and the Beskar Din Djarin should have had removable helmet and proper jet pack/cape combo. We didn’t need three (four with the Credit Collection). This feels like a ploy for more money from Hasbro. And for me, it sadly worked.😞😃
yep! it was a lazy cash grab for what could have been a legitimately cool deluxe pack.

Well...I am a bit disappointed, I must say. I have the Mandalorian in his first-appearance, beat-up armor. I kinda liked that. For the Beskar version, we decided to actually get something different. The Hasbro Black Series version falls a bit short IMO.
I like this version better on screen, but i think the old one is a better toy.

i got it from ript apparel last year.
I want to like this set. I really do. It is theoretically the definitive 2 in 1 pack of these characters. But there is so much that bugs me. The chin sticking out of the helmet. The barely articulated Grogu. The lack of a soft goods cape. The ingots of beskar instead of just giving us the ice cream maker. I'm happy for anyone that got this and enjoys it, but I'm going to hold out for something better.
that's exactly how i feel. I WANT to like it. I feel like i SHOULD like it. But it definitely has too many issues.

What third-party vendor did you get the cape from?
i'm sure that looks great! i honestly don't remember who gave me the cape. It was sent to me by a viewer, i don't think he makes them for sale, but there are a few places that make capes.
Yea, so I just happened to run into that deluxe Mando at a Target on the day it came out. I saw 3 of them and there was a sale, buy 2 get one free... so guess what i did? Yup, i bought all three. Kept one for myself and sold the other two to buddies... at retail price. Even tho I got one for free, gas still cost money especially driving a couple of hours away... And yes, I emptied the shelves but anyone and everyone had every opportunity to snag him coz I went to that Target at 7:30 PM!! nope, I don't feel guilty whatsoever.
I tried to get all three to use with that discount. One for me and one for each of my kids, but they would only let me buy one.

@@MikeKaess just went towards gas money and like $10 or so extra for me... They gave em to me without even asking. I hook people up, finding stuff for em coz I actually do have such luck lol. I'm known and called as their "good luck hunter" haha..
The only thing that this has over the Bandai version is the Belt Harness. The SHF is overly complicated. Taking the BS belt and putting it on the SHF would make me happy. Maybe I will just make one out of leather strap scraps or something.

Funny story I got to Target at 6am when the Target one was released. 4 guys were in line we waited we chatted black series it was cool. Then some jerk came up asked if we were waiting on Mando we said yes. He said he was gonna run when they opened he was gonna just run and grab them all. We said no he said yes back and fourth for several minutes. A Tagret lady came out. He told her he was gonna run and grab them all. She said no one per customer. He still said he would grab them all hide them and come back. He was a total jerk. She put him in line. Said if he got out of line or ran he would not be sold one. So she walked us 40 something men single file to the toys. It was like a school lunch line walking through the store and it was mildly humiliating. But we all got one even the jerk.

I have both, and I think the deluxe is the better of the two just because of how the helmet sits on the head makes it looks more square as it should. The single pack Mando is too round from being warped in the package, but I still think BOTH helmets are off, the forehead is too bulbus, and the front portion of the helmet doesn't come down as far as it should, the whole helmet just really bothers me a lot. Great video tho Mike! I agree this is a very mediocre figure and could have been so much better AND more available.

I just got the regular release of the Beskar Armor Mando... and I was holding off on buying it for a while. So, looking at the armor bit, they were DULL. I went over each part with some silver leaf and it adds the luster that the armor needs.. in my opinion. I also sprayed the jetpack with some graphite paint and painted the body suit again with a deep chocolate brown/black mix to bring out the contrast of the armor on the cloth too.
Yeahhh, I wish it was more shiny. I eventually sold my beskar mandalorian and got the original armor from episode 1 and 2.

Yeah I have this deluxe mando and sculped the dripped slag of beskar on his right thigh with squadron putty and painted it with a chrome molotow pen. Looks WAY better.
I need an aftermarket cape now.

The Disney Toy Box version has a shinier armor...huh? Hasbro be cheap. They are both the the best and worst friend of the collector. I like the ingots. But they needed the Camtona the 4” had. I like the pram but the slightly redone Grogu should have fit in it better. Mold it like the bag the biker scout came with. Yep cloth cape. Yep rocket effects. Yep shinier. I think a 2.75-3 is right.

Isn’t it just great that Mando’s iconic amban phase-pulse blaster got disintegrated along with the Razor Crest when it blew up?! I’m still very miffed that most of the elements that made Din Djarin a bad ass were stripped away from him. He’s now just an average bounty hunter with no ship, no signature weapon, no childcare duties, no bounties, and no love life. I’m surprised Kathleen Kennedy and Disney didn’t completely strip him of his manhood and emasculate him by somehow melting away what little beskar armor he has left. Remind me again why I’d be interested in a season 3?
How come everything good that happens, Filoni and Favreau get praised. And everything bad gets lumped on Disney and Kathleen Kennedy? Kathleen Kennedy isn’t writing this. She green lit it, she’s supporting it.
But if you don’t like what’s happening, you should complain to Favreau and Filoni. And the reason you should care about season 3 is to see where it goes. Season finales often leave the story and main characters on cliff hangers or in a low point.
It’s time to see what happens next.

I think this was made before S2 ended, and it's probably a hard figure to get hold of which is why MK was only able to review it now.

The big problem with the design on this and all the mando figures is his disintegrator rifle, the but stock is upside down to the on screen version.
Can only hope they can improve it when S2 figures come out

I believe you are correct about Mando not using the tracking fob in his Beskar.
I ended up ordering the figuarts Grogu, so I already have a good pram, less reason to grab this release.

I agree with you on every level Mike! What a missed opportunity this "deluxe" version is with the same default as the normal beskar release, bad accessories (except from the prom) and a terrible grogu. Since I already have the normal beskar release and grogu I won't buy it again for the prom and the djin djarin head. I bet in a few months we will have a new Mando with better face, a new soft cloak and his spear.

Great review, Mike! About a year or two ago, Target stopped shipping to Canada, so all their exclusives mean holes in my collection unless I hit the scalpers! LOL!
I wish exclusives were just temporary, and then went to a wide release.
Thanks to you I got a remnant stormtrooper, because I've not seen a trace of him in Canada!
