This song hits me in a soft spot.
My ex girlfriend and I broke up close to a year ago. She moved back to her parents and I took over the apartment and our cat. The hardest part is she got to start a new life for herself. I’m trying to do the same but it’s so hard living in the same apartment and living in the life we were trying to build together. I’m doing my best to get by, but to tell the truth I’ve really let myself go mentally. She got a new boyfriend and they’ve been together for like 4 months. That’s her story and I’m happy she’s happy, even if that’s without me. My next step is owning the fact that I have to move on and doing that properly. I don’t know when I’ll figure it out, but thank you so much to people like Jason Aldean that make music like this that helps me get up everyday and live my life. One day things will seem better. Without that mindset, I don’t know how I’d still be getting through everyday.
It gets easier as the days go by. I say that because I’ve been there and there comes a time where you have to do what makes you happy :) Period. Whether it’s buying yourself something you’ve wanted or changing your hair color. Sometimes we have to make ourselves happy to be happy again. Change is hard but one day it becomes easy when you realize that’s where you’re supposed to be.
Josh, I'm going through the same thing. We had been together 14yrs. Have known each other for 36yrs. He decided that someone we both worked with (he still does) and someone I hate most in this year makes him happier. I am in our apt. but he still pays the rent so I have to see him regularly. And it kills me every time he leaves because I know he is going to her. He has our vehicle so I just sit in this apartment with my cat.

I don't know how it's even possible, but country music can make me kinda nostalgic for a world I've never been and never seen. It calms down and gives a feeling of infinity of time as if our life is not so short at all. It gives me meaning and desire to keep living through this difficult time
