The original Mafex Wolverine fetches up to $400 on ebay......so who's really getting ripped off? hat's off to CT toys for showing the masses that these prices for figs today are totally insane. this move sabotages scalpers, and I love it. scalpers are the main reason you can rarely walk into a target or walmart and find the secret wars figs on the pegs like in the old days.
CT Toy's didn't make a Mafex like figure. They took the Mafex figure and made a mold from it. They tried to duplicate the paint apps and box design. They didn't do a lot of of the costly work Medicom did. The figure is not possible without the figs with those totally insane prices, Now it does tell me Hasbro (especially Mcfarlane Toys) should do better. Scalpers aren't the reason you have difficulty finding figures now. It's those companies not ordering figures to put on the pegs. But during the Pandemic, scalpers were surely a problem. Though this bubble is popping. Also in this particular case. Mafex Brown Suit Wolverine was plentiful when it came out. Moreso a low supply at this point. But prices for tiger stripe and others nose dived when rereleases happened.

I've been collecting action figures since the early 80's, I've seen the ups and downs .back when you could walk into Walmart only looking for some socks, and run into a whole line of figures. I like how arrogantly your telling me scalpers aren't the reason we can't find figures. When I literally catch these guys in the target ilse talking on there cell phones telling a client he's buying all that they have of the 97 Xmen wave. When pre orders of the latest figs sellout before your finger can push "add to cart"...scalpers have bots set on auto my boi. So my point was to say I'm glad the real collectors could get a win. Collecting should be fun. Oh and companies not putting enough product out..you must not have a Ollie's store in your area because the truth to your statement will fall short there.
I hope they keep making knock offs. The Mafex figures sell for so much and the quality is not always great. I’m still pissed about the paint aps on Jean’s cowl 😂
There people willing to buy the Mafex version (like me) but Mafex has yet to reissue it so many will get this, and I'm 90% sure i will if Mafex doesn't reissue the official one by February. I'd get the KO than pay $250+.
I tried to order the CT and my order was cancelled a couple of days before it was supposed to be delivered. I am taking that as a sign to keep on waiting for a Mafex reissue, but if that still has not happened within the next few months I may take another crack at getting this.
Im not 100% sure how CT is getting away with this, but I am in NO way opposed! Ive seen reviews of CT figures and its just a good example of how other import companies are ripping us off. I mean, NO, CT is not QUITE as good as mafex, but the price difference COMPLETELY justifies the compromise in quantity. I have both... CT agent venom and CT Wolverine. Both figures are impressive and worth the 20 dollar shipped I paid to get them. Just make sure that you're getting the CT versions. Aliexpress has sellers that selling bootlegs of bootlegs. They rival the quality of what we pay 25-30 dollars for. I recommend both. I have mafex steel azreal and gambit. I can feel the difference in the quality but that difference doesn't add up to the price gap.

I should be getting this figure shortly as well. I ordered the Black Suit Spider-Man from AliExpress and was pleasantly surprised. I was really impressed with the stand and find it better than the actual MaFex stands. Great review as always. Happy Holidays Shartimus.
@@vinsvicks it’s hard to say, I just picked one that has a lot of sales and good reviews. Always the reviews. I got lucky with mines. 4/5, tiger strip wolverine didn’t come out as nice. Overspray paint and right shoulder pad broke in the box. I just super glued back on and it’s ok.
The only real downside of this CT KO is the aftermarket value, which it doesn't have much of due to being a bootleg. BUT! If you are looking for a Brown suit Wolverine to have fun fiddling with, this is definitely worth picking up!
I will still buy the reissue if mafex ever do it but for now CT Toys is a good alternative and also good for custom. But tbh this ct wolvie height is what attracts me more than the Mafex because this how wolverine should scale.
Thanks Shart! I was on the fence about getting this one, well hanging on by my toenails, but I just bought it. it will be the closest I have come to a real MAFEX figure. I have one Bandai figure and the difference to ML is incredible. I'm really looking forward to this thanks again!
I think, if they took what they learned about figures and made their own stuff it’d be really cool. It would be amazing to get some good ‘not Marvel’ figures at that price point of characters that deserve this treatment. I.E. Nightcrawler, Beast, Tigra etc.
Got my CT toys Wolvie and mine was damn near perfect. No QC issues at all. Seams and joints were perfect and scaled well with all my Marvel legends. Got mine for 9 bucks! Took a while to come but well worth it!
I just recently got mine but it came without his claws and i was disappointed. The figure itself is great but what’s wolverine without his main attribute. Does anyone have any suggestions for what i could do to replace the claws?
Anyway to tell if that metal pin has lead in it? I've been hearing ct toys has possibly had an issue with the paint being poisonous or something. Hence why I've helf off getting any of their items.

All I've heard are people repeated the exact same thing. That Knock offs (generalized not CT Toys specific) might contain lead in the paint or plastic. The warnings you might see on Ali Express. Even Hasbro would trigger them. CA laws about reporting paints and potentially other hazardous chemicals with significant exposure. I have yet to see anyone present the results of a test that state CT Toys figures contain lead. The problem with the consumer lead testing kits is they are prone to false positives/negatives. Basically unreliable. Now the thing about lead in toys. Little kids put them in their mouths and play with them in the bath. Adults are more likely to have less physical interaction. So I can't confirm CT Toy's don't have lead, but I can't confirm any reports that they do. These are of course things a legitimate company would have to confirm which also adds to the costs.
They don't have lead, I've seen other videos and shorts that use a lead test on one of the CT Toys products like the Mafex Symbiote Spiderman and no lead detected on that.
I don't like how we got here but it's a darn fine figure for its price point and design. If Medicom had rereleased the figure, I would have purchased it. Right now the Mafex figure is not available for purchase at MSRP. All the issues with the figure I think most of us have exactly or in some form. Now everyone should start to see why costs go up so those issues are minimized.

Unfortunately, Hasbro holds the master license on the Marvel 1/12 market and per their contract, it’s stated that retailers outside of Asia and certain countries are not allowed to price non-Hasbro 1/12 figures for less than a certain amount. I think it was $80/$90 something, I don’t remember. If you buy MAFEX from HLJ, AmiAmi, Hobby Genki or such places, the prices before shipping will be substantially lower. Not $40… but much lower than $80.

A long time ago, I bought a fake LV luggage bag at the airport and was taken home on the conveyor belt by a fellow passenger. But I bought these fake bags from kislux , so I donât care if they are lost.
I got the bootleg comic spider-man and the arm comes off at the butterfly joint. I also got the shf amazing spider man for the andrew garfield head sculpt that didn't come with the original. I didn't feel bad about getting it because I already had the original wwhen i did get it.
