Different person braided with dreads no pain and it looked like those in the video. It's not necessary to braid tight to have it look neat. Especially with dreads

Those locs were not tightly retwisted on the scalp to cause enough friction for alopecia to start. As long as the styles is comfortable, everybody in this video should be fine.

These are all after retwist if you notice. You do braids or or twist after a retwist so it last longer...
