This is honestly the one if the *wildest* races in NASCAR history, and NOBODY talks about. Some of the other notes about this race: - As pointed out several times, this race took place on Friday the 13th of October. - This was one of the rare times Jimmie Johnson tried out a Busch race after 2001. - This marked Keselowski's fourth appearance in the Busch series. (And, as shown, was his first DNF) - This was going to be the last time Casey Mears would pilot the 42 in the Busch series, as the next race it would be taken over by Juan Pablo Montoya. (Which is why they joked that he was driving like he was never going to drive _any_ car ever again.) - Casey Mears ran especially long during a green flag run until Jason Leffler crashed, leaving only 6 cars on the lead lap. (...plus Matt Kenseth, who got the Lucky Dog.) - As they prepared to restart the race, Carl Edwards and his crew were having a fit because Casey Mears had pit under the caution, and yet somehow Mears was being shown as the leader despite Edwards not pitting. - NASCAR eventually had to physically stop the race to figure out what happened. - ...it turns out that Mears just decided to blow the red light at the pit exit. Whoops... - So much time had been spent under caution that the race restarted with under 10 to go. Due to the way the rules were written, Matt Kenseth had to start at the very tail of the massive line of 30 cars. - This marked the only time Dave Blaney won a race in any of NASCAR's top three divisions. - This also marked the only time in Danny O'Quinn ENTIRE racing career that he brought home a top five.
I felt that same way about him when I was 5. Wasn’t my favorite driver but I just liked the guy. My parents owner a bar at the time and had a giant cardboard cutout of him when he was in the 07 car, after a while they let me have it in my room and it stayed there for like two years lol

Dave Blaney finally got his just due. This was easily one of the most popular wins of the season in any series, and deservedly so
That Burton/Vidovich/Keselowski wreck is an often overlooked savage crash
Low-key one of the sexiest camera shots of a live crash ever
Another race with with good commentary from Wally and Kyle. Still the most underrated driver analyst duo imo
My favorite Busch race for a long long time.
Kiwi Frankencop, I turned on notifications!

Such a wacky race. This is one of those events that I’m going to have to do an extended highlights video of
Correct me if I’m wrong, maybe maybe not, but I think this was Brad Keselowski’s first Xfinity/Nationwide/Busch series start at Charlotte right?
Always kind of liked Dave Blaney Idk why, since I barely got to see him race, but I’ve always liked him.

I remember this crash being a wreckfest, but boy was the ending worth it.
