It is not a kenyan word. Simply refer to your kamusi. Choroko and dengu are two different things. We do have dengu in tanzania as well. And they are not choroko.choroko is also known as pojo.

hold up, you started with Shikamo (yikes, got me feelin like "grandma" over here). I recently returned from wondrous Tanzania and cannot wait to go back. the food, the wildlife, the delish fruit, above all the people. was so thrilled to meet my beautiful sisters & brothers. the memories warm my heart. even after explaining to many how "I am not muzungu...I'm Puerto Rican and we have African heritage too" (after I showed a few of them this video th-cam.com/video/gWPUKy305Gs/w-d-xo.html they understood).
was on that road cuz I stayed 3 nights in Kitunda village (Chibuba Transit Lodge). by the way, kashata with kahawa (coffee) was one of my favorite snacks (had it to the 1st time in Unguja).
am excited for your journey, my beautiful "dada" African Tigress. love from Charlotte, Lola 💙

That Coast region is located on the shores of the indian ocean. That is where Bagamoyo is . It is possible that the village you went is far from beach. Saadani National Park is also located on the Coast region. If you check on the map you will see all regions on the shores of the Indian ocean. Dar es Salaam, Pwani(coast), Tanga, Mtwara
