  • One of the most exciting features of GeneratePress that will elevate your workflow to the next level is Hooks.
This feature is almost hidden in plain sight and it allows you to insert any element you want just about anywhere you want across your site.
The power here is really immense - you can add anything before or after your header, before page and post content, before or after your footer, and so on. Pretty much anywhere you want to add in a piece of content, you can do it.
The possibilities really are endless. Add in the display rules feature and you can get any piece of content or any elements exactly where you need them in no time flat.

Man, it's so powerful! The key really is knowing where all those hooks can possibly go, and where to use them to your advantage.

Hooks in generateblocks is definitely a game changer. I use to dig into templates php files via ftp, go into template parts, try to reverse engineer themes, etc. It’s really incredible what Tom and the GeneratePress team has built.

💪 Glad to see someone singing the praises of Hooks! I think I've taken it for granted having used GP for so long 😅. The hardest part about hooks is just remembering to use them 😅

I saw your video with Admin Bar and I am very happy to find you created a course. When I was looking at Oxygen I did purchase your course, so now you know how to create courses that are well done. I have been wanting to make the transition to Generate Press and one of the things I found frustrating is that as nice as Kadence it just has way too many blocks whereas Generate Blocks yes you have to do it yourself, but I think you have more flexibility with Generate Press. I will be purchasing your course soon.

I have always been a fan of hooks since the early versions of Genesis & Generatepress but nice to see how it's being used these days with the Blocks Pro plugin. Separate point, now you have moved away from Oxygen, I'd love to see you do a session with Gutenberg/Generatepress and Motion.Page. I'm currently using it with BeaverBuilder myself.

Same goes for Blocksy theme which has the same feature. Hooks are amazing and they can really improve UX and flows. Good to know that they are in GP aswell ;)

Can't wait for your course to come out 🙃
Does GP provide a way for dynamic-data accordions with acf???

As of right now, no. The ACF integration is getting better though with the recent GenerateBlocks 1.6 alpha release. I also hear that accordions and tabs are coming at some point in the near future too with no additional elements required

I get confused with all these changes coming to the Oxygen and Breackdance community, and the FSE now, or in-between systems like GP and GB. I no longer know what to use to set up my clients' sites. Continue Oxygen? at the risk that these sites will no longer benefit from updates in a few months, switch to Breakdance or GP... What to do? Who to trust...
