I lose all anxiety and sadness listening to this. Thank you tame impala. (Edit: I’m doing way better now and this song is still the best out there 😌)
I want to hear this song on repeat forever it matches any emotion i'm feeling or situation i'm in perfectly it is genuinely one of if not the best song I have ever heard holy shit
“finding yourself always in this world of chaos and all this stuff going on around you and always shutting it out because you don’t want to be part of it. But at some point, you realise it takes more energy to shut it out than it does to let it happen and be a part of “it”.
Agreed. If people could just foster their own ability to just let feelings go where they want, running an unobstructed coarse, they would discover coping skills that allow honesty with self, leaving anxieties and fears no traction. Like an instrument, practice gives way to skill, and natural pathways, making it seem effortless after a while, like muscle memory for neurons, you know....a talent. I know you understand. Anyway, thanks for kickstarting this avenue of thought.....
lyrics: It's always around me, all this noise But not nearly as loud as the voice saying "Let it happen, let it happen (It's gonna feel so good) Just let it happen, let it happen" All this running around Trying to cover my shadow An ocean growing inside All the others seem shallow All this running around Bearing down on my shoulders I can hear an alarm Must be a warning I heard about a whirlwind that's coming 'round It's gonna carry off all that isn't bound And when it happens, when it happens (I'm gonna be holding on) So let it happen, let it happen All this running around I can't fight it much longer Something's trying to get out And it's never been closer If my ticker fails Make up some other story And if I never come back Tell my mother I'm sorry I will not vanish and you will not scare me Try to get through it, try to bounce to it All the while thinking I might as well do it They be lovin' someone and I'm not that stupid Take the next ticket to take the next train Why would I do it? This song started playing while I was driving home from the hospital after my grandma died three weeks ago. I opened up Spotify and tapped on something at random because I couldn’t bear the silence in my car.
This song has helped me so much. All my life I’ve struggled with overthinking and anxiety, this song (especially the second half) has allowed me to forget about whatever I’m worrying about for a few minutes and get lost in the music. Thank you Kevin. xx
[Verse 1] It's always around me, all this noise But not nearly as loud as the voice saying "Let it happen, let it happen (It's gonna feel so good) Just let it happen, let it happen" [Chorus] All this running around trying to cover my shadow A notion growing inside, now all the others seem shallow All this running around bearing down on my shoulders I can hear an alarm, must be morning [Verse 2] I heard about a whirlwind that's coming 'round It's gonna carry off all that isn't bound And when it happens, when it happens (I won't be holding on) So let it happen, let it happen [Chorus] All this running around, I can't fight it much longer Something's trying to get out and it's never been closer If my take-off fails, make up some other story But if I never come back, tell my mother I'm sorry [Instrumental Interlude] [Bridge] I cannot vanish and you will not scare me Tryna get through it, try to bounce to it You were not thinkin' that I will not do it They be lovin' someone and I'm another story Take the next ticket to take the next train Why would I do it? And you wanna think that I cannot vanish and you will not scare me Tryna get through it, try to bounce to it You were not thinkin' that I will not do it They be lovin' someone and I'm another story Take the next ticket to take the next train Why would I do it? Anyone think that- [Outro] Baby, now I'm ready, moving on Oh, but maybe I was ready all along Oh, I'm ready for the moment and the sound Oh, but maybe I was ready all along Oh baby, now I'm ready, moving on Oh, but maybe I was ready all along Oh, I'm ready for the moment and the sound Oh, but maybe I was ready all along, oh baby
Kevin himself said the mumbling part was gibberish, he was going to add actual lyrics to the song later but he didn’t since he liked how the mumbling sounded. Those lyrics do sound very accurate though, I like it.
This song is weirdly restless and comforting at the same time, like you are having a panic attack on weed but someone is telling you everything will be okay eventually I just noticed this was weirdly specific
I feel the same thing, it's like a crying for someone that died, but reading a letter written by him to you, saying he knew this would happen and trying to confort you, even not being there you can feel his warmth, being more sad and feeling more confort, at the same time No, i never passed through that, but still weirdly specific too
Agreed, and Kevin even works that feeling into the percussion if you pay attention- the 4-on-the-floor snare pattern in the first half of the song conveys a sense of restlessness, but after the middle section when the drum beat comes back in, it has a way more confident swagger and groove to it
This song and this album created a new, contemporary exploration of psyche that wasn't chained to the nostalgia of the past but took the fundamental ideas and ventured into brand new territory. It is actually groundbreaking and forward looking, and will be a highwater mark for the future of this kind of music.
I love this song, but I prefer the condensed version. The buffering part is filler to me, but I'm sure it has some deeper meaning I'm not smart enough to understand.
@@Immafraid i interpreted the repeating as in waking up everyday and being depressed (since this album is about a break up) i feel like as if he’s describing the feeling of letting go as the days go by and eventually when the repeat ends is when he has let it happen and has let go of the past and jumps back into the cycle of life
Definitely gives off Daft Punk vibes in the sense that he gives you multiple build ups throughout the song and collectively puts it all together at the end. What a masterpiece.

It’s said that after you die you experience your whole life in seven minutes. You could listen to most of this song while doing so. Another thing is, we could possibly be in that 7 minutes right now. We just don’t know it yet. It also says right before the seven minute mark “take the next ticket” and that could be the ticket to heaven.
You know how rare it is for a band to REPEATEDLY come up with jewels like these? Tame Impala is like one of those astronomical phenomenas. Happens every 100 years. So for me, this band is once in a lifetime experience.
idk why people get so mad or annoyed when others correct people about kevin parker and tame impala being a one man band/project… in my opinion, he deserves the credit for doing all of this himself. 🤷 most of the time, the people correcting others about him being solo are nice about it…
its actually so sad that because of the TikTok audio people have decided that the last bit of the song is the only part worth listening to, the whole thing is amazing
@@plvto1 I get that’s the most popular part but you gotta at least hear the whole song instead of skipping right to that part, people have different preferences I get it but it’s like when you skip a show or movie to the most popular part it’s just a no. And in my opinion people who do that I don’t like cause what’s the point of searching for that song or movie if u are just gonna waste your time searching for that one part when you can just watch or listen to the whole thing . And plus this song has many cool parts that they might like. And I also know that people might not want to spend their time listening to the whole song. But to actually enjoy a song or learn a song you gotta listen to the wholeeee thing same with a movie.

That's the point of this music genre actually. Psychedelic music is supposed to make you feel like you're "in another universe"
I want to hear this song on repeat forever it matches any emotion i'm feeling or situation i'm in perfectly it is genuinely one of if not the best song I have ever heard holy shit

Tame Impala’s songs have impact on your soul.
I don’t skip to the good part I just “let it happen”
ugh I love that dreamy pad-synth in the background... makes the song sound so ambient
lyrics:
It's always around me, all this noise
But not nearly as loud as the voice saying
"Let it happen, let it happen (It's gonna feel so good)
Just let it happen, let it happen"
All this running around
Trying to cover my shadow
An ocean growing inside
All the others seem shallow
All this running around
Bearing down on my shoulders
I can hear an alarm
Must be a warning
I heard about a whirlwind that's coming 'round
It's gonna carry off all that isn't bound
And when it happens, when it happens (I'm gonna be holding on)
So let it happen, let it happen
All this running around
I can't fight it much longer
Something's trying to get out
And it's never been closer
If my ticker fails
Make up some other story
And if I never come back
Tell my mother I'm sorry
I will not vanish and you will not scare me
Try to get through it, try to bounce to it
All the while thinking I might as well do it
They be lovin' someone and I'm not that stupid
Take the next ticket to take the next train
Why would I do it? And you wanna think that
I will not vanish and you will not scare me
Try to get through it, try to bounce to it
All the while thinking I might as well do it
They be lovin' someone and I'm not that stupid
Take the next ticket to take the next train
Why would I do it? And you wanna think that
I will not vanish and you will not scare me
Try to get through it, try to bounce to it
All the while thinking I might as well do it
They be lovin' someone and I'm not that stupid
Take the next ticket to take the next train
Why would I do it? And you wanna think that
I will not vanish and you will not scare me
Try to get through it, try to bounce to it
All the while thinking I might as well do it
They be lovin' someone and I'm not that stupid
Take the next ticket to take the next train
Why would I do it? And you wanna think that
Oh, maybe I was ready all along
Oh, maybe I was ready all along
Oh, maybe all I wanted was the sound
Oh but maybe I was ready all along

This song has helped me so much. All my life I’ve struggled with overthinking and anxiety, this song (especially the second half) has allowed me to forget about whatever I’m worrying about for a few minutes and get lost in the music. Thank you Kevin. xx

Final song for my funeral! People can start to leave when this song ends... and they will feel everything is alright.... peace - out!
This song sounds like an adventure
[Verse 1]
It's always around me, all this noise
But not nearly as loud as the voice saying
"Let it happen, let it happen (It's gonna feel so good)
Just let it happen, let it happen"
[Chorus]
All this running around trying to cover my shadow
A notion growing inside, now all the others seem shallow
All this running around bearing down on my shoulders
I can hear an alarm, must be morning
[Verse 2]
I heard about a whirlwind that's coming 'round
It's gonna carry off all that isn't bound
And when it happens, when it happens (I won't be holding on)
So let it happen, let it happen
[Chorus]
All this running around, I can't fight it much longer
Something's trying to get out and it's never been closer
If my take-off fails, make up some other story
But if I never come back, tell my mother I'm sorry
[Instrumental Interlude]
[Bridge]
I cannot vanish and you will not scare me
Tryna get through it, try to bounce to it
You were not thinkin' that I will not do it
They be lovin' someone and I'm another story
Take the next ticket to take the next train
Why would I do it? And you wanna think that
I cannot vanish and you will not scare me
Tryna get through it, try to bounce to it
You were not thinkin' that I will not do it
They be lovin' someone and I'm another story
Take the next ticket to take the next train
Why would I do it? Anyone think that-
[Outro]
Baby, now I'm ready, moving on
Oh, but maybe I was ready all along
Oh, I'm ready for the moment and the sound
Oh, but maybe I was ready all along
Oh baby, now I'm ready, moving on
Oh, but maybe I was ready all along
Oh, I'm ready for the moment and the sound
Oh, but maybe I was ready all along, oh baby
Thank you
FINALLY SOMONE FOUND THE LYRICS TO THE MUMBLING

Time stamp for the riff?
This song is weirdly restless and comforting at the same time,
like you are having a panic attack on weed but someone is telling you everything will be okay eventually
I just noticed this was weirdly specific
I feel the same thing, it's like a crying for someone that died, but reading a letter written by him to you, saying he knew this would happen and trying to confort you, even not being there you can feel his warmth, being more sad and feeling more confort, at the same time
No, i never passed through that, but still weirdly specific too
Totally agree
Agreed, and Kevin even works that feeling into the percussion if you pay attention- the 4-on-the-floor snare pattern in the first half of the song conveys a sense of restlessness, but after the middle section when the drum beat comes back in, it has a way more confident swagger and groove to it
100% accurate this is how i felt when i used to get super high
true lol. i mean the music video is literally about having a heart attack from anxiety and dying.
This song and this album created a new, contemporary exploration of psyche that wasn't chained to the nostalgia of the past but took the fundamental ideas and ventured into brand new territory. It is actually groundbreaking and forward looking, and will be a highwater mark for the future of this kind of music.
Will be? More like has been

This is the song I wanna listen to as I transition from earth to heaven…something about it is so calming yet ethereal
Basically the music video
It’s said that after you die you experience your whole life in seven minutes. You could listen to most of this song while doing so. Another thing is, we could possibly be in that 7 minutes right now. We just don’t know it yet. It also says right before the seven minute mark “take the next ticket” and that could be the ticket to heaven.
