Is that the back locking button steel or plastic?

Looks more comfortable in the hand as opposed to my Olfa knife. However, with the Olfa knife, it has a small clip in the back that detaches to aid in snapping off the used blade section. Will have to try this knife. Thanks for the info.

Sometimes you digress for too too long. I use these as well and I strop them too. Have the ingenuity blade from crimson as well and I strop it too

leathertoolz didn’t mean it as destructive criticism, but more for u. As for the blades, I use Olfa black for fine curved cuts and the broader cutter or rotary for thick leather or long long cuts. Have Japanese skiving, straight, angled and rounded. Also have indespensible with carter made right handed blade. I strop them all

Btw don’t you snap the blade, for a fresh one? Or you have to change the hole thing? I always snap my blades with the small tool at the bottom of the blade. In this instance of your I snap the blade in the bigger cutter with the small red tab you took out...

    Definitely getting one! 👍🏻
It's only NT$180 here in Taiwan, so that's USD $5.78~.

Nice one. Bought a crappy DeWalt snap off knife. But its easier to just sharpen an xacto blade to a mirror finish and use it nearly indefinitely.

oh yeah? interesting, let me try that way.

@@leathertoolz Don't use the #11, I think it is, I break the tip off every time in 8oz veg/bridle turns. The 11 is the very sharp angle, use the flatter angle xacto blade instead, something like 30 degrees, robust enough to do tight turns in heavier, tougher leather without snapping the tip, or bending to any appreciable level. Once sharp, stays sharp with very little stropping on 3oz veg, flesh side, but with very tight grain. Not too hard to keep the entire blade, not just the bevel at a mirror finish. With the thinness of the blade, the smoothness of the steel surface, the blade glides through leather. Sorry it is not a hundred dollar blade, it just slides through heavy leather and costs a few cents!

Have you ever disassembled this knife? I can’t read Chinese so I opened it up to replace blade and there’s a small spring inside that I can’t figure out its precise position. Its use is not clear, but I’m searching for assembly instructions. 🤪

      Did you find an answer?

    • @Bodhi1satva

@@crimsonlord525 I apparently did, while I have no recollection of it. But it’s back together and working. It seems the spring stands on its end between the top and bottom of the case, sandwiched between them, at the back end of the knife. It somehow adds tension making the whole locking mechanism and blade release work. Don’t ask me how though! Hope this helps.
