Goldberg didn’t get either a licensed theme like this one or a rip off in house made theme like ddp that is so similar to that one nirvana song im shocked wcw didn’t get sued about it, the theme Goldberg started with that everyone loves/knows is title “invasion” from a sound library built by a third party for the history channel that they used in one of their shows/documentaries about the Normandy France D-Day invasion in World War Two. From what I’ve read wcw somehow got permission either form the history channel or the third party sound library to use it and were planning on changing it later they just needed cheap music to send him out to and it stuck. The history channel was fairly new on most basic cable distributors at the time in the 90s and seemed to enjoy the mutual publicity they got from it, and then while Goldberg wasn’t wrestling and I think even somewhat after he first went to wwe he was hosting some shows for the History Channel there for a time, mostly about cars usually.
It really shows how highly WCW thought of Sting if they were willing to actually license an entrance theme for him instead of getting Jimmy Hart to whip up a knockoff of it.
I loved this theme and this was before youtube and what not you only got to hear it when Sting showed up. Same goes for vampiro. Wanted to see them every week just so I could hear this theme
