Her accent is probably different from most Australians' because of going so much in between the American and Aussie accents
They didn't cancel it though. It's been picked up for a second season.
I loved her in Mortified and Castaway/trapped, that's how I started watching teen beach movie and fosters
She's just the most precious thing, between her Australian/American accent and her adorable ways of deflecting spoiler-y questions. Gah. Just too cute.
Maia is awesome, I love her! I fell in love with the Fosters and her character Callie, and that's the only reason I wanted to watch Teen Beach Movie (it looked okay, but I wasn't sure I really wanted to see it until I decided I loved Maia Mitchell, and actually I still haven't seen the movie yet, and I really want to)! But, I love you Maia!
accents change with the different parts of Australia just as America so her accent may sound different from what the Hollywood Australian accent you're used to is. She's Australian no matter what I don't get the big fuss over it.
i think maria is very normal like for actor and that's why i like her

To those of you hating on Maia: she is beautiful sweet and talented. You should have no reason at al to hate on her.
And to those of you saying Raura Vs. Raia: Ross and Laura aren't dating. Ross and Maia aren't dating. Ross and Laura are like brother and sister, and the same goes for Ross and Maia. Laura and Maia don't hate eachother, and I doubt either wants people hating on the other.
