  • There have been recent agitations for state creation in Nigeria - of which Anioma has been taunted as one of the states to be created. This podcast is intended to call out well-meaning Ndokwa/Ukwuani people to come together in one accord on this issue of a new state creation out of the present Delta State.

The main people that need to be consulted on this issues are the South east. Why do i say so. This new state creation is to balance one of the injustices, unfairness and marginalisation against south east. Any creation of state is to make south east have 6th states like other region. So why should we the SE yield to udokwa and anioma ??? You guys should not think that we don't have options inside SE. We do. Adada state, Orlu state, ulasi state.. your brother Denis Osadebe have been fighting for this for years before he pass to our ancestors , dont mess it up now their is undeniable reasons for the new state. All of you in that region should come together and negotiate with south east not fighting among each other because of influence from the benins creating divisions among brothers. This new state if for your benefits not us in SE..

What is your problem? The man made a submission, and here you are attacking, and throwing unnecessary punches. Ndigbo, who did this to us? It's time we, the Igbos start to emulate the Yorubas for our greater good. Must we fight about everything? Issues can always be tabled, and resolution reached amicably. 🙏

We can't continue to begging for relationship with our brothers. nope! heaven will not fall. The new state is for their benefit. And south east holds the key to that dream. Never will SW and North agree for south south to have 7 States, never!! They will never support it. We'r not in military time, you need two 3rd of the Senate to create a state and South east and south south dont have the number.

@@chukwuemekaIgba First who classified the relative dialects as igboid. These are actually the underlying issues here with the igbos and those who see themselves as igbos. If there ever is a classification to be done standard and accredited rules of engagement and consensus are involved. Not some amateur researcher running off to wikipedia or wherever to post his opinions and call it a standard reference. The ukwuani and ika dialects contain a plethora of distinguishable Benin words , when the ukwuani man says 'egugwe' the Benin says 'ugwe' to mean peanuts. How is such a dialect then conclusively an igboid dialect. POINTING FOR CORRECTION AND IN BOLD THE UKWUANI DIALECT IS NOT CONVERGENT WITH IGBO AND IS NOT AN IGBOID DIALECT. The case of the Anioma thing is the same. A 2 percent who see themselves as igbos , decide for the other 98 perecent and without consultations , groups literarily woke up to find out they had become part of an Anioma clamour for SE inclusivity!. It is so bothersome about the igbo man generally speaking and sorry to say especially among your leaders down to matters of identity. On the average members of your group behave like supremacists without the decency of consultation and dialogue and without addressing this the igbo man will keep running into issues with its neighbors. The Efik has never run off to classify the ibibio mans dialect as efikuoid or whatever. If there has to be a classification sighting heavy similarities then there should be some degree of consensus. Consensus not assumptions!

Ndokwa/Ukwuani people are Igbos. They are another clan of the Igbo nation. I understand their dialect even when I've never stepped into Ukwuani territory. People like you can confinue to deceive yourself but time will confinue to diminish your unprogressive position.

Well my oga you have spoken very well and all kudos to you, well in my opinion, there is supposed to be a dialog on how you guys have to go about it, and you talked about all the different ethnic groups in edo state hiding their differences, well let me educate you little bro, am not from Delta State, and over here in Scandinavia which i had lived some years now, there are too many minorities of delta State like the Isoko, Urohobo, Ishekiri, Ijaws and others and i can tell you that within yourself you can talk or even believe that there are togetherness in Delta State as you described it here, but believe it or not there are nothing like that as you think and believe. Let me tell you, i have discarded lots of friends from Delta minorities of the ethnic groups i listed above here because i heard and seen them speaks of their high levels of hatred towards those of you from Ukwuani Kwale especially all those from Delta north, my reason of discarding those friends is that i come into conclusion that if these folks hated you people that sheared same State with them in such manner, they can easily harm me myself, Delta north is homogeneous but others are not homogeneous am 100% sure that you the maker of this video will never never feel comfortable in the midst of those you are referring as your fellow Deltans from those minorities ethnic groups i mentioned above, i am sure 100% that if you travel down here in diaspora, you will be seeking for closeness of people from Asaba, Enuani, Ikah and others that you are somehow related linguistically that i know for sure.

I have lived in Delta State for over 10 years. Travelled to almost every community. There is nothing special about Delta North. It is just typical Igbo communities were people hold on to their clans. On a micro level, there are no Igbos. There are only Oka people, ngwa people, nsukka people, ika people. It is laughable to see igbos outside the east begin to claim this and that nation. If you are given a state and becomes part of both east, will an onitsha people become your governor?. Anioma is one of the oldest clamour for state in Nigeria led by Osadebe and then supported by Zik. It was supposed to include Onitsha. If you people prefer to be minority where you could be a major force, then your loss. Apart from Ebonyi that has high poverty rate, the rest of South east have the least poverty rate in the country. Asaba together is developing because of Onitsha overflow. Even with your claim to natural resources, the Ikas and Oshimili are more developed. It is human capital that brings development not just resources

my position is that this issue be striked out. Firstly there is every element of disdain , disregard and suspicion to go to the south east behind our back and make a promise to them to annex ukwuanis to the south east and come back to dialogue with us after the fact with vague ,unclear and ambiguous undertones. It is an insult on the ukwuani nation as a whole to include us in an Anioma opting for inclusivity in the south east without hitherto being part of the Aniomas we know as an Anioma group who have been clamoring for a state in the south east for decades and without due consultations giving a false impression that Ukwuanis are clamouring for inclusivity in the south east overnight. Then you desire to go to the south east why not proceed alone but seek to go with the oil wells of the groups that have not been hitherto part of your south east inclusivity project or even interested ab initio. Further this is not all about state creation. Another layer in this matter is the egoistic brand of politics called expansionism played by groups as the igbo group and those in league with them the aniomas which does not endorse other peoples identity or image but seeks without due consent or opinion to impose its own image and identity on other groups on false terms of unity and oneness but actually on the basis of pure ego such as led to the recent face off between them and the ikwerres. The end game of expansionists is emasculation; have you jettison your identity and take up the identity of another man or another groups . in essence force an igbo identity into your gut weather you desire it or not for the satisfaction of the Igbo mans ego. An added complexity is that Ukwuani is not an homogenous igbo group like the south east igbo groups or the Aniomas who see themselves as such but a non homogenous multi lineage group and is therefore impossible to classify it as an Igbo group or give it an igbo tag. We trace our heritage and ancestry to several multi lineage clans inclusive of the ebohs, the whiteman called the abohs, the benins, the urhobo- itsokos, the igala-idahs , igbo groups down to the Ijaws arriving at various periods in our ethnogenesy. Thus we have the Oputes, the Ossisas, the Amedes , the Ufelis, the Elovies as foundational multilineage clans or families that established the ukwuani nation. Thus the dialect we speak is better described as a lingua franca dialect containing words , elements and morphemes from these multi lineage groups and is not an igbo dialect. @Sam Enudi it is therefore very easy to instigate an internal rancor if you seek to paint an homogenous igbo image of it when it is not or anything to suggest it like suggesting its inclusion in the south east. This is where this matter boils down to weather we want to face it or not. Our parents did not establish the ukwuani nation as an homogenous igbo nation but a non homogenous multilineage group. It is why from inception we have never been part of the south east not yesterday , not today and I can assure you not tomorrow ,but opted for the Midwest , then Bendel and now Delta state . Another non homogenous group is the ikwerre group that is why you cant tag them as Igbos. The Aniomas will not have this problem as they are more or less as homogenous as their south eastern counterparts but not the ukwuanis. I drop it here for now while I await others contribution

What do you mean by Igbo expansionist..?
Show me a historical record of Igbo expansion to Anioma or any other région for that matter.
Amongst the 3 major tribes, the Igbos have been the ones who do not have the historical records of expansion.
Why leave substance to always chase shadows......and who told you Igbos are your problem or enemies or people to be antagonized or feared always?
You have bigger problems in your hands that may begin to manifest soonest if you do not listen to the voice of reason from senator Ned for the sake of your children.
The Urhobos, Ishekiris, Edo's and Ijaws are the ones who seek to expand to your territory using the anti-Igbo phobia to distract you.
If anything happens or a new wind of change comes to Nigeria tomorrow and the Igbos decides to keep only to themselves then you lots will understand that you have played yourselves into fire.
The present minorities in delta and Southsouth as a while will come after your territory....you already know as it goes in Warri presently.
Let's not even talk of the other big 2 tribes(Hausa&Yoruba) or even the Fulanis who are on a voilent conquest down south.
The Igbos are your brothers and are the fine line of defense and protection against all these.
You have more affinity &brotherhood towards the Igbos than any others....you lose the Igbos, you awake to a very terrible reality because even the Igbos are wiser now and already getting fed up of the constant denials and arm measurements with them.
Remember, oil will finish one day, the British will not always be there to sow discord, other parts of Nigeria have their own issues to contend with to even care about Anioma's true well being.
Learn from the mistakes of the southern Cameroon who left the Eastern region out of unfounded fear and are now going through terrors in the hands of the French and Cameroonian govt.
The Igbos are a big enough tribe and have nothing to lose if Anioma is not with them.....they have abundant and more of any resources found in Anioma today.
Igbos are your brothers not competitors.
