  • QUAID DAY SPECIAL
Listen to the Narration of an excerpt from Muhammad Ali Jinnah's First Presidential Address to the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan (11 August 1947). This Piece Encapsulates the Idea of 'Pakistan' that Quaid-E-Azam had envisioned and the Steps that he believed will bring Glory and Ultimate Success to Pakistan.
Undoubtedly, This is a Speech that Every Citizen of Pakistan Should Listen to and Understand.

As a Pakistani I feel that experiment of divison is proved terribly wrong.
It has devastating effects on World and Subcontinent .
May Allah give us wisdom to live like good neighbours like USA and Canada.

Dr. Taimur Rehman Sahib, Asalamo o Alakum , thanks for present the speach of Quaid e Azam after his achievement of Separation of some part of of India on religious basis and used the emotions of hate of muslims against Hindu faith peoples on religious basis. Quaid e Azam was the first leader of India whoes used religion as a tool to his politics. Quaid e Azam was deny the conception of national state on religious basis and efforts to create a state country on secular basis purely on national conception. The leader whose whole political struggle was based on anti secular national state and gives a massage to peoples of new country Pakistan which was created to divide the India on religious base to become secular because he had achieved his goal and become the Governor General of Pakistan of newly created state which is created by religious basis. The great leader asked the peoples you are free to practice their own faith without any fear the peoples alse free for their religious practice in united India and there were no restriction on any one to do their religious practice it was India not a any communist country. The all India muslim League gave a conception of peoples of Indian muslims a separate nation on basis of religion and gave a conception of supremacy on basis of their religion and undermine the peoples of other religion which are in majority in population Hindus faith and used the emotions of Indian muslims against only hindu faith peoples but he was not against any other religious faith peoples like Christian's and Parsi and he was not say any single word against the peoples of these religious faith peoples he loved Parsi religious faith peoples and his daughter was also loved with Parsi faith person and Dina Jinnah married with Parsi faith person and lived in India and never came to Pakistan. The great leader how expected that a peoples suddenly changed their mind and become secular to listen the speach of that leader whoes all speaches were against Hindu faith peoples and whoes himself and his party used the emotions if hate and they were created deliberately hate against the peoples on religious basis . The great leader suddenly changed his mind and become a secular from religious extremist and he gives massage to those peoples which he gave a anti nationalism to become in favour of national state on the principals of secular. This speach is the proof that All India Muslim Leaghue and his leader ship used religion for their political achievement only. Thanks.

An eye opener for those who propagate the agenda of religious extremism and caste based division system.
For the matter of fact, if it would have been said in today's Pakistan, he would have been declared a secularist, seditionist and an abrogator to the constitution (Article 6). Jinnah never wanted to create a religious extremist state instead he was determined to create a state of equality working for the benefit of people, debate withstands whether a capitalist or socialist state..

When Jinnah was building Pakistan. Then he said these words to unite the people of different strata of the society, nothing about the death of Jinnah was shown by the government of Pakistan or the army of Pakistan. On the other hand big bangladesh massacred hindus and then told to stop riots in punjab and east bengal but pakistan govt didn't do anything. pakistan was created with muslims in mind, some hindu lower leaders supported pakistan because they thought the problems of lower and lower people are only upper hindus. At the same time they can live together in the same state, not with the Muslims, so some Hindu lower caste leaders supported this Pakistan proposal. Educated Muslim society thought that if the new Pakistan is real, then Muslims will get jobs instead of the jobs that Hindus are getting, thereby reducing the unemployment of the boys of the Muslim society. The farmers thought that if it was Pakistan then they would be able to take land from these landlords, so they supported it, which did not happen.Hence the creation of Pakistan was a complete failure.

And for those who wonder and ask if partition was a good or a bad thing, I would answer, that it was an after effect of colonialism. The divide and rule game. Similar analogies exist in Morocco and Algeria. Both have the same people, Arabs and Amazighs (Berbers), colonized by France. But these two have very strong rivalries due to land disputes. The nation states in the Middle East, that were split due to the Sykes Picot agreement, and the split of Korea. Colonialism, imperialism, divide and rule. These are the factors that gave rise to modern nation states.

May b the situation compelled Jinnah to give birth to a new nation but whatever West Pakistan did with East Pakistan was absolutely unacceptable.if West Pakistan genuinely considered the Bengali Muslims in East Pakistan to b their fellow citizens then they wouldn't have denied to accept the election result wherein the Awami League emerged victorious.Bhutto was the man behind Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's arrest.the muslim population in East Pakistan was more than that in the West, still govt.spendings were more for West.the West shouldn't have tried to impose Urdu on Bengali speaking Muslims.this step created bitterness between the Bangla speaking Bengali Muslims & the Urdu speaking Bihari Muslims who migrated to the East during partition.Sk.Mujibur always said that Bangladesh shouldn't be built on the basis of Religion.
I guess if Jinnah would have been alive,he wouldn't have allowed the Socio-cultural & Economic oppression the West carried out on the East.

In my honest opinion, I find Jinnah’s personality very obscure and mysterious. It’s hard to truly understand what he was thinking. One one hand he made the speech Aug 11th telling the public that they may belong to any religion caste or creed. This raises the question “can a non Muslim be the head of Pakistan?”, and then on the other hand, he is creating a country on the basis of religion, and slogans such as “If you are a Muslim, join the Muslim League”, “What does Pakistan mean? There is no God but Allah”, “the kalima in the mouth, the sword in the hand, but we will fight for Pakistan”.
In Maulana Azads book “India wins freedom, apparently before Jinnah departed for Karachi, he gave the message to the Indian Muslims that they should stay and remain loyal citizens of India. These words were said by the Muslims who came in tears to Azad complaining that they had been deceived.
Furthermore, Jinnah was known to have authoritarian tendencies. He didn’t like to work under anyone but was known to be short tempered to his subordinates. In an interview, Dr Ishitiaq Ahmed, a Pakistani professor from Sweden, who wrote a large book on Jinnah, acknowledges that Jinnah was very arrogant and aloof. He used to scold Liaquat Ali khan too. I suppose that’s why many Muslim Leaguers were eager for Jinnah to die soon (the way Jinnah died also appears pre mediated - the way his ambulance was deliberately stopped and delayed- also no one came to receive him and Fatima from the airport in Karachi on his last day).
When Jinnah became governor General, he eliminated all opposition parties. In NWFP, there was this party called Khudai Khitmatgars who was lead by Bacha Khan. Khudai Khitmatgars was forcibly dismissed and Bacha Khan along with his brothers languished in jail for many years without a trial.
Also it is asserted but hidden in Pakistan that Jinnah on his deathbed regretted creating Pakistan (I wouldn’t be surprised if he did, given how Muslim League were trying to isolate him by sending him to Ziarat - you are supposed to see a doctor and get treatment for tuberculosis, not go to the hills). The book Fatima Jinnah wrote My brother was banned from publications and when it finally came out, excerpts were missing from it, not to mention that she was totally kept invisible from public after her brothers passing.
Jinnah was a lawyer, not a leader. A very charismatic, witty, smart and shrewd indeed. But a leader makes the vision for his country very clear, writes it on paper and clarifies in clear certain terms where he wants the country to go. Ataturk did, Lenin did, Kim Ill Sung did, Nasser did, Arafat did. Yes they were dictators but they made their visions clear as to where they want to lead their countries. It is also not clear why Jinnah left the Congress. Very vague reasons are given. If Congress was truly a Hindu serving organization, Maualana Azad was the President twice, and many other Muslim leaders and parties were aligned with it.
Muslim League unlike the Congress wanted to keep and maintain the feudal system alive, whereas Congress wanted to abolish it as soon as independence came.
That is why I say that Muslim League wouldn’t have been fans of Marxism nor Socialism.

Jinnah never wanted partition but he was leading a party whose majority members wanted it. Jinnah was advocate of equal rights to Muslims. Jinnah was forced to accept partition by Congress and Muslim league leaders especially from Bengal. Jinnah always tried to unify India but Congress betrayed him. Jinnah accepted Cabinet Mission plan A which was about two dominions under one federation. But Congress rejected it. On rejection of Cabinet mission, Jinnah again felt betrayed and then was also forced by Muslim league leaders to accept partition. Congress also accepted partition except Gandhi who was sidelined by other leaders of Congress. Jinnah was a secular person who admired Mustafa kamal. There is much left to disclose as Pakistans former leaders hid it from public and portrayed Pakistan existence with religion whereas long rule of Congress in India erased their involvement in partition from history and hid this aspect from general public. Congress leaders like valabahai patel, Nehru etc are equally responsible for partition. They sidelined Gandhi who was supporter of united India. Jinnah was the symbol of Hindu-Muslim unity. He was part of both Muslim league and Congress till 1920. Muslim league was formed in 1906 as a group of elite Muslims who were loyal to British.

    • @umair_qazmi
      @umair_qazmi ปีที่แล้ว +2

Jinnah initially was siding with a united india but he later on clung to a simple idea that it was not possible. In the late 1930s and in 1940 he showed his courage regarding the partition. This is similar to changing his point of view or ideology with time and it is fine , as the same happened with Iqbal.
For your statement regarding "quaid was secular" I personally wouldn't agree with that. He showed his love and passion for a muslim nation. And he succeeded in that by achieving the first nation to be born in name of islam. He whilst having a high platform said that "islam is the complete code of life" (economically, socially, intellect wise, politically etc) which unfortunately now is not being paid heed to. Moreover, this statement is rather relative regarding his belief towards religion, many differ.

Cabinet mission happened in 1946. Jinnah accepted plan A it which proposed Indian dominion with two groups of Muslim India (presently Pakistan and West Bengal, Assam, Bangladesh etc) and one Hindu Indian group (presently rest of India). These three units were given administration under a central power. Jinnah accepted this plan and rejected plan B which proposed complete division of provinces. But Congress under Nehru rejected it as they wanted majority of seats in Centre from hindu india. Here British and Congress betrayed Jinnah and Nehru was made interim prime minister. Seeing this injustice, Jinnah was forced by Muslim league leaders to do his part and then Jinnah advocated Direct Action Day and openly called for Pakistan which he previously never did. In 1940, Lahore Resolution which is regarded as the milestone in partition of india was not having any of the description of Jinnah. In fact Muslim.leaders from other parties. Like A.K Fazlul who was leader of Krishak Praja Party presented the resolution. History shows that Jinnah used partition as a bargaining chip for attaining more autonomy to Muslims. Today, in Pakistan you'll find very less information regarding Jinnah's personal life and family. All was done to hid the facts and make narratives. Jinnah belonged to Bohra Ismailia community, married to a Parsi, befriended qadiani community, admired Mustafa Kamals Turkiye, and heed support from the local zameendaars. All the religious Muslim groups including major deobandi scholars Jamiat Ulema e Hind, jamiat ahl e hadees, Jamat e islami, Jamat e ahrar, khaksar Movement by Allama mashriqi and many nationalist Muslims and religious maulana rejected Muslim league's idea of partition. Even fatwa were given against division and promotion of Muttahida Quamiyat concept of pan islamism of Jamaluddin afghani was given as a counter to partition. No one can comment on Jinnah's religion but he was a secular inclusive type of person who joined and befriended various socio-religious groups in subcontinent including Ahmadia who considered them Muslims.
Another counter note: Muslim league's first president was the imam of Nizrari ismaili shia community, Agha Khan the Third. He held presidentship from 1906-1912. Jinnah became president in 1913.

He said we don't want war but if you want war then we accept your offer of war. He gave Nehru time to rethink but Nehru and congress does not paid heed to it so Jinnah launched Direct action day. He was forced to do it by Congress and Bengal's chief minister Hussain Shaheed Suhrawardi was leading the procession. East bengalis were rebellious throughout the history. They divided Mughal empire. They divided united Bengal in 1905. They divided United India in 1947 as they were the main architects of Pakistan. They divided Pakistan in 1971. There is a long history of East Bengali resistance. Calcutta riots wrote the partition of Bengal and United India in red ink. This made partition of both Bengal and united India inevitable.

Here issue is of catastrophic communal division of Indian sub continent.
History proved beyond iota of doubt that communal division failed rather aggravated to the extreme.
The region you and I and world call it Pakistan Bangladesh for time immemorial has fairly Muslim domination numerically while other faith flourished with all their religious identity.
I read almost all prominent post partition writers of Pak, India, English and other and have collection of them.
I fail to understand how Muslim league and Congress agreed for catastrophic anti human division of Indian subcontinent.
Muslims lived in hinterland villages from Peshawar (NWFP) to Keral, and elsewhere in substantial number.
History proved minority in Pak and Bangladesh are far away from glittering Media of 21st century and most migrated to India though it was extremely painful but yet feasible to relocate in India, still utter frustrating.
Issue is that majority Muslims were left with no option but to live in India as it was practically impossible to relocate in pauperized four states of Pakistan and it doesn't happen.
These region engulfed in exceptional nature of communal disharmony.
Muslims in India almost literally lost thier political identity and things doesn't appear promising in another walk of life.
Hardly any representation in Legislature Executive and Judiciary.
Provided this unofficially second class citizen.
One is entitled for thier political view, but I have reached to the conclusion only feasible solution to Indian subcontinent was proportional representation /separate electorate.
Now only solace is that this life is not real and will meet all stakeholders in life hereafter and will discuss in great detail for the reasons and circumstances lead to this catastrophic partition of hearts and land. Amir

Countries such as North Korea, Syria (Haffez Al Asad), Romania (under Ceucescu), USSR (under Stalin), China (under Mao Zedong). Pakistan is nowhere near as extreme as these countries that I mentioned, but the point I am trying to make is that like these leaders, Jinnah is eulogized to the point that he is seen as a saint, who cannot be questioned nor criticized. His pictures are in all government offices, and although it isn’t a crime to criticize nor question him or his motives or even perform a critical analysis; it is seen as very unpatriotic, ungrateful and very taboo to do so. Journalists who criticize the army, ISI, the two nation theory or even Jinnah are shunned, ostracized or silenced. A progressive country does the opposite. It welcomes a free flow of ideas and encourages one to think out of the box.

He wanted to create pure Islamic State by implementing Deen from the guidance of Quran e Majid.
This is why Pakistan was created ,otherwise India became secular as well, their Founding Fathers openly used to say they are Socialist, many Mullahs were against the creation of Pakistan.
Then what was the need ,what wss the real cause for thr creation of Pakistan?
Pakistan was demanded because a Muslim cannot live in freedom, dignity, unless they are living under their own system of "Deen"
That is why Muhammad Ali Jinnah RA struggled to make Pakistan.and when it comes to "Deen" A muslim cannot be liberal,Secular, Socialist,Communist or another thing being a Muslim.
That is why a pure Islamic State was demanded in order to safe guard the rights of Muslims.
And I also want to share this ,there is no need to be a Marxist neither we have the choice.
Quran e Majid's economic system is based on "Ishtarakiat" and Hazrat Umar RA never allowed anyone to buy Landownership and he the then Islamic State was against the Feudalism and todays capitalism and neo liberalism.
